Re: Chapter 1 - A Most Auspicious Meeting

"Kuso!" Jiro swore as the thing in the darkness raked him with claws. The blow stuns him, and he hits the ground beneath its weight.

[OOC: 20:01, Today: Jiro Koji rolled 17 using 1d20+10. toughness save.
Stunned, so my futile attempt to resist the grapple didn't matter

Re: Chapter 1 - A Most Auspicious Meeting

The thrown frog is reduced to a pulp by the force of the impact. The giant frog is made of sterner stuff, and shrugs off the blow.

It makes another leaping attack on Alex, with rather more success then last time. The claws don't do much damage, but the slime on it's skin has a rather more notable effect.

Re: Chapter 1 - A Most Auspicious Meeting

Vampire. Again. Kamis, that's... really annoying. With a shove, he dislodged the biting fangs, rolled to his feet.

He refocused his ki as he sized up the foe, as much as he could hear it, at least. "Didn't I punch you into the bay last night?" It sounded like the creature stood, and Jiro darted in, a ki-laden fist coming in for an uppercut. "Fist of the Oni!"

Re: Chapter 1 - A Most Auspicious Meeting

The blow is true, but the Vampire was already leaping back as it struck. Instead of turning it into a pancake, it simply added a bit of speed to it's flight.

The Vampire makes an unholy sound, a hungry, hissing noise that sends chills down the back. Jiro can tell it is coming from above ground level, perhaps ten feet up.

How did that not- bah, not important. It's not far enough away to be safe from me... He took a quick step forward and threw another ki-laden punch. "Fist of the Oni!"

Re: Chapter 1 - A Most Auspicious Meeting

A focused Ki punch sends the Vampire flying into the air, until it hits something with a thud (presumably the ceiling). It promptly falls back to the ground and lands with another thud. Even with all the damage it presumably just took, Jiro can still make out the faint sounds of movement.

The Frog didn't seem to comprehend her words, and launched another of it's leaping attacks. This time, Alex was ready for it and dodged out of the way.

Even as she did, Alex felt that the current was trying to drag her towards pool.

[OOC: 01:18, Today: Gamemaster rolled 17 using 1d20+10. Attacking Alex.
Miss. However, the current here is stronger. She needs to make a DC15 Strength check or be knocked down and pulled towards the whirlpool.}

This time Alex is sure she hurt the Frog. It made a swipe at her and jumped to the very deepest parts of the room, right on the edge of the whirlpool. Alex could see that it's strong swimming legs were working hard to keep it from being pulled down.

Then the effects of the poison skin started to affect her.

Hearing the vampire hit the floor - hard - next to him, Jiro grinned. Then he heard it still trying to move. And me without anything to use as a stake... Guess I'll have to do this the hard way and hope.  Moving to the target, Jiro lashed out once more. "Fist of the Oni!"

[OOC: 11:53, Today: Jiro Koji rolled 13 using 1d20+10. Another FotO attack. That's probably a miss, unless the stun knocks the vamps defense down more than I think it does, but worth trying.]

The small frogs around Alex start growing larger and larger. Leering faces appear in their skin, and they start attacking her. In a panicked frenzy she lashes out at them. She smashing dozens of them into pulp, yet still they plague her.

From out of nowhere an even larger demon frog kicked her, threatening to send her doom amongst the frogs.

There is a sickening crack as Jiro's fist smashes the skull of the presumed Vampire in. The total lack of blood or other fluids from the blow does support the Vampire theory, and a hungry one at that.

Re: Chapter 1 - A Most Auspicious Meeting

Stake or no, that's probably done the thing in for now. Decapitation usually works. Brushing bits if matter he was just as glad he couldn't see from his fist, Jiro stood. "That count as one down? If it does, I'm ready for the next one."

Let's see... wood looked interesting but not too nasty, but given how this darkness turned out it's probably worse than it looks. Metal... no, metal's a better fit for Alex - she's a lot stronger than I am. Earth likewise. Fire looked like it would make for a nasty challenge, but given Alex already took the challenge most likely to completely screw me over... "I'm ready for the Arena of Fire."

Muttering profanities, Jiro quickly made his way to a wall, then started circling the room clockwise. Should be able to find a door. Failing that, I suppose I can try to just make one, but that might not work... couldn't put the vampire through the roof, after all.

Re: Chapter 1 - A Most Auspicious Meeting

Taking her purse in both hands, Alex swings it in a great arc ending in the Frogs position. The impact has two effects.

1 - It breaks the purse. It just wasn't meant for such abuse.
2 - It breaks the Frog. It just wasn't meant for such abuse.

The Frog's broken body smashes into the cave wall behind the whirlpool, then slides down into the pool. It is pulled down, the worlds largest frog flushed down the worlds largest toilet. With the loss of it's master, the other frogs hop away, most of them ending up down the whirlpool as well.

A few moments later, the door opens in the wall.

Re: Chapter 1 - A Most Auspicious Meeting

Jiro searches for a few minutes, not finding anything. Just before he does something drastic, he hears something behind him. Sidestepping at the last moment, he hears a thud as the Vampire slams into the wall. Shaking his head, Jiro shouts "FIST OF THE ONI!".

His fist hits dead center in the things back, and crashes through to the other side. It's heart destroyed, the beast explodes into dust.

A moment later, he hears the sound of a door opening. It only takes a moment to find it and emerge back in the corridor. The man who lead him to the door turns and leads him back to the Guide.

When he arrives, he finds Alex already there. Her shirt is a bit torn, and she is toweling off, but seems in good health.
