Re: Chapter 3 - Dawn of Dreams

The guy looks star eyed at Alex, and nods enthusiastically. "I'm gone. I've got family in Seattle who I haven't seen in a while. Time for a visit."

He looks down at his friend. "Lee's more stubborn then I am. I don't think he'd go along with you. Don't hurt him, please?"

Unless stopped by Jiro, the man walks out of the alley.

Re: Chapter 3 - Dawn of Dreams

Jiro gives the man an indifferent look as he leaves the alley, then he quickly tears the duct tape restraining 'Lee.' In low tones he says, "That went well, I think. It seemed to me he was speaking the truth as he knew it. And from what he has described, there are definately several vampires about, though many are likely very new to the, ah, life."

A glance around. "Alex-san, given what he said, my instinct is to strike quickly, before this Johhny can add more to his numbers. In fact, I would think striking around noon would be our best bet. Most vampires I have heard of are hard to wake while the sun is in the sky."

"That said, you know more about these vampires than I. Is there anything about these Pishacha that might... change the situation?"

Re: Chapter 3 - Dawn of Dreams

"The older ones can be active during the day, so long as they are not in direct sunlight. I've seen them have their hand less then an inch away from full sun and not be burnt. Of course the younger ones can go up like a torch pretty easy. It varies how long it takes to get that strong, but you're looking at fifty years minimum. For the most part, I expect they will all be deeply asleep at noon."

"The problem is how do we bust in without attracting undue attention. The answer to that will come after we've had another look at the place."

"Good to know. I suggest we scout these two addresses. Perhaps with that we can have a better idea of which one is the 'main' hideout; the one being used by this Johhny."

Re: Chapter 3 - Dawn of Dreams

The first building is a townhouse. The area looks run down, but it's quiet at this time of day. There is nothing that really stands out about the place.

The second building is a small warehouse a few blocks away. The place is boarded up tight, and looks like it's been abandoned for years.

Re: Chapter 3 - Dawn of Dreams

Looking over the warehouse, Jiro said, "These places are too quiet. This one, I think, we are more likely to be able to find a way in without attracting notice. I suspect there might be some... protest, if we were obviously breaking into that townhouse. I will look for a door."

Re: Chapter 3 - Dawn of Dreams

The warehouse has a personal sized door at the back, beside the rear loading bays. It is inset from the back of the building, and the fence around the back lot is solid enough that one could probably get in without being seen.

The problem is getting into the lot. There is a chained with a heavy padlock around the back gate.

That said, there are enough buildings in the area that one could probably roof hop over without a problem. Or just leap the fence.

Not to scale - d for door. D for loading door

Re: Chapter 3 - Dawn of Dreams

"Well, I vote we use the back door. This fence isn't enough to keep the likes of us out. If the door's locked, I can certainly take care of it, and I suspect you could too."

Unless Alex disagrees, Jiro prepares to hop the fence.

[OOC: Array is in Ki Strike. If Alex agrees to going in the back, Hide In Plain Sight/Stealth Skill Mastery and Acrobatics Skill Mastery to slip over the fence unseen, then Stealthing across the lot to the personell door.]

"Let's be about it." Alex says, looking intently at the warehouse. She leaps the fence with ease.

[OOC: Lacking such amazing skill mastery, Alex still takes 10 as it's not a stressful situation. 20 on her stealth check.]

Jiro ghosts up to the man-sized door and, while waiting for Alex, checks the door - trying the handle without pushing to see if it's unlocked, but not opening it yet.

"As a matter of fact I do." Alex says, pulling out the multi-tool she purchased the same day she got her laptop. "It's fun to just kick in doors, but along with programming I also picked up some mechanical skills."

She knelt down beside the door and went to work on it.

Jiro smiled. "Efficient." Huh. Sounds like Alexandria is in the fore now... makes sense, since we're about to jump the vampires... Have to keep an eye on her.

As she finished with the lock, Jiro opens the door as quietly as he can, intending to ghost through after.

Re: Chapter 3 - Dawn of Dreams

The warehouse is mostly empty, a few skids and shipping crates scattered in a haphazardness fashion. The floor shows signs that people have been moving in here at some point in the not to distant past.

There are two doors on the far left side of the building (relative to the map). They look to be office doors of some time.

Jiro ghosts across the warehouse floor, keeping an eye out and heading for the further of the two office doors. When he reaches it, he tries the doorknob to see if it's locked.

Re: Chapter 3 - Dawn of Dreams

The door proves unlocked. Within in a bare room. Trying the second door, Jiro finds that it is locked. Alex works her magic again and the door clicks open.

This was probably once an office, but is now filled with boxes. Poking around for a few minutes finds a moderately well hidden hatch in the floor. The construction on it looks relatively recent.

There is no obvious lock.

Jiro whispered back, "My instincts are to continue with stealth, Alex-san. The Vampires should be asleap at this time of day, but there may be servitors there. You are the vampire huntress; I bow to your judgement."

Re: Chapter 3 - Dawn of Dreams

The hatch opens easily and quietly, the hinges looking quite new. It seems that it leads to some maintenance tunnels, however they have been remodeled quite heavily. It looks like Alex just dropped into the front hall of a house, albeit a messy one, complete with coats on racks and shoes. There is a door to the east and west. The east door looks unused, with assorted junk piled in front of it. There is a mat in front of the west door.

The only sound is a faint electric hum, presumably from the electrical gear these tunnels were meant to access.

Alex looks up and waves Jiro down. "So, I think it's west side story time." She says, pointing at the door with the welcome mat.

Alex steps up to it, and checks for a lock.
