"Works for me." Alex says, as she watches the drugs get blasted. "I hate drugs. I've known to many people in both lives that have been destroyed by them."

The journal seems to be written in some kind of code or cipher. It is all meaningless at the moment.

"Even if it is encoded, we should keep it. It may prove useful." He looked around. "I fear we have lingered too long. I suggest we make haste and start planning our next move in sunlight."

Back inside the warehouse, there are no signs of any of the people who fled the vampire's den are still present. The front door is hanging open.

Re: Chapter 3 - Dawn of Dreams

"I will make sure we are unobserved." So saying, Jiro ghosted towards the front door, watching closely for any concealed foes. The vampires would not be able to strike at them until dark, but their minions would not be so restricted.

[OOC: Array in Ki Strike. Stealth/Skill Mastery for 22, and Hide in Plain Sight, moving at half speed to avoid penalties. Poking my head out the door to see if there's anyone skulking around with guns or something.]

Jiro waves her forward, then makes his way outside, finding a nice, sunlit spot to stop his stealthy routine.

When Alex catches up, he says, "At least three escaped from me. We must assume that the others have been warned. My instincts say to strike now, while they are off ballance and groggy from the day, rather than wait. Do yours agree?"

"Yeah, the leader got away from me. He's probably running right for the other nest as we speak. Now that we've found what we can here, I think we should hit them hard and fast."

Alex looked up. "How are your roof hoping skills?"

Jiro raised an eyebrow. She has seen me hop up walls, has she not? "They are... adequate. Let us make haste."

Can I roofhop? Like she really needs to ask...

Alex is super humanly fast, and it's only Jiro's own powers that allows him to match her. The martial artist does have an edge in training, and could pull ahead if he wanted to.

For the moment, Jiro is content to simply keep pace with Alex. He's also taking the opportunity to give her technique a good look, to see if there are any aspects of it he could adopt himself.

Re: Chapter 3 - Dawn of Dreams

Alex's technique looked to be entirely self taught to Jiro's practiced eye. She had the look of a woman who had learned under two harsh teachers, trial and error. It wasn't pretty, but it worked.

"When we get a chance, I can help you work on your technique, Alex-san, though you seem to get by nicely overall." Hopefully, she'll take that as information and not a snub. And hell, for something that looks entirely self taught she's not bad. Yet another thing for The List.

"That would be nice. I never had anyone to really show me the ropes when doing this. I had to... had to..." Alex trails off. "Huh... I don't remember actually learning to do this. I wonder what other holes I have in my head?"

Re: Chapter 3 - Dawn of Dreams

Holes in her head. Oh. Kuso. For a moment, Jiro roofhopped in silence. "Something to worry at later, I think, Alex-san." I hope like anything. Can you give us a favor for this, Kamis?

"We are almost there... and I suspect they will put up a much better fight this time. This time, I think we should both refuse to take any bait should one of them run."

"Agreed. If they run either they are afraid and so easy to clean up later, or luring us into a trap, or both. I could see both."

The house is much as it was before. Quiet as the grave.

The roof-hoping pair had attracted some looks, but no real serious attention.

The roof is no match for Alex's super strength, and she smashes through it, landing in an empty room.

Jiro lands neatly beside her. "Subtle. Very subtle, Alex-san."  A pause, and a grin to take the sting out of his words. "So why couldn't I do that at the last place?"

Then he falls into a ready stance, giving the room a look-over, eyes pealed for anything out of place.

"Fair enough." Jiro dropped through the floor, landing on ground level. "My turn, if you please."

He cocked a fist, which was surrounded by dense, swirling blue ki, and slammed it down into the floorboards. "Fist of the Oni!"

[OOC: array to FotO for this round, taking 10 on attacking the floor]

Re: Chapter 3 - Dawn of Dreams

Where Alex's blows had opened holes, Jiro's Ki enhanced power destroyed the floor. The pair lands in the middle of some very confused people, some obviously vampires, others undetermined. It seems they had been looking at the ceiling, and wondering about the noise.

Two of those present are very clearly vampires, or at least have severe allergies to sunlight. There were more or less in the middle of the pillar of light that the destruction opened up, and are now screaming in pain as their flesh combusts.

It looks like there are five with fangs and four without standing outside of direct sunlight.
