In reply to BurningBones (msg #27):

By Bronze age, are we talking 'pulp' heroes or Bronze-Age sword and sorcery?

Re: Looking For Players

I was thinking "Bronze Age" would be either very modern supers (if Bronze Age corresponds to the Golden and Silver age terms in the comics) or old time stuff like the 1920s and 30s.

I might be interested.  I think I only have a 3rd edition book.  How different is 4th?

Re: Looking For Players

4th Edition is pretty different in its guts.

Character Creation is nearly identical but because there are differences in the guts of the Powers and whatnot, 3rd Edition will be minorly problematic for character creation.

Re: Looking For Players

By bronze age, I mean bronze age comics -- 1970s to mid-1980s. I only list that because that is when I broke my teeth on comics so it is in my head as what comic books are all about. The game would still be set more or less now, but the feel would be slightly older fashioned than today's comics.

I only own 4th edition, but we probably could work out issues. I'd like people to design characters off of character concepts more than min-maxing the rules anyway.

Re: Looking For Players

I'm willing to work something out.
I'd always thought the 70s was Silver Age, but maybe that's just DC.   I read lots of comics back in those days, so I'm up for it.

Re: Looking For Players

I'm thinking more late 70s. And again, this is just the feel. Before the gritty, bloody, and sulking heroes all took over.

Re: Looking For Players

*grins*  Yes, the brooding 90s, especially the XMen and others was a little heavy at times.  Fun heroes with more straight forward stories works for me.

Looking For Players

Okay, well I am getting another game off the ground and then will reassess my own level of commitment to a Champions game. I already have a bare bones game created, which people are welcome to take a look at.

No promises that this will become an actual game. The last thing I want to do is start a game if I don't have enough time to run it well.

With that warning ...

Re: Looking For Players

I think that "potential game setting" looks fun.

I have something like a nightcrawler character... teleporting martial artist who's a smart-ass like Johnny Storm.

Having trouble squeezing the concept into 250, but I'll get there.

Re: Looking For Players

Yes, it looks interesting.  I'm trying to think of a good character concept, though.

Re: Looking For Players

I've a concept that I've used before, a sort of reality-challenged mentalist, that was originally created in another system. It should fit well with the tone suggested.

Re: Looking For Players

I already submitted my concept for Wombatgirl, but she's kinda tough to squeeze into 250 pts. I can also pitch for Tantrum (kid Brick) or Sharpshooter (old-west gunslinger, grandson of Daniel Boone).

A 4th ed game, cool.  Are you still looking for players?  I will post a RTJ soon.

Well, I'm still debating whether I have time to run the game. But RTJ is fine.

Go ahead and submit an RTJ.

I'm leaning toward going forward with the game.

Re: Looking For Players

Everybody wake up !

A Wanted - Players will be posted for a Morrow HERO campaign.

That is right, Morrow Project using HERO. 175 + 5 exp for character builds, 4 package deals
Science, Scout, MARS, Intelligence, or make up your own, GM IMO is flexible.

Really grounded, gritty 6th ed game.

Players and GM will help you with 6th ed, but really 98% the same as 5th ed.

Will repost Wnted - Players ad here after it goes up.

Players needed for Morrow Project Hero game

I am looking for players to join my Morrow Project Hero game in progress.  They will be members of a Recon team frozen in the early 1980s.

Characters are built on 175 points.  Character creation guidelines are posted on the game menu.

Re: Looking For Players

I'm looking for a total of 4 players for my game I'm reviving. I have 1 player right now.

In it you are members of the Texas Rangers in the fictional Division G with oversight ranging the state and covering superhuman activities.

Re: Looking For Players

I need someone to take over my role as GM on my 6E Champions game. I have a team ready to go, but things at home need my attention more. The game has a co-GM who is working on his own team; he plans on running things in a different city, occasionally having plots that put both teams together (or have a hero or two come to visit).

So, anyone up for running Team One?

Last HERO game I GM'd was 3rd edition. I daresay things have changed since then.
