Re: Game Advertisements

Elasco walked through the work shop, tubes, coils and beakers of many types bubbled buzzed and sparked as they converted raw materials into arcane essences. A gearwerk engine clanked and chugged powering the bellows of the forge as a clockwerk servitor hustled about tasks for the Master of the  shop.
A wisp of smoke curled around Elasco's head forming into a tiny winged girl who giggled and flitted back to the man setting at the back of the shop a pipe clenched in his teeth aromatic smoke wafting about his head in small streamers. A scroll on the table before him and a revolver close at hand as he allowed himself a rare moment of relaxation.

"Ah Elasco, please sit and relax, I trust you brought the item." Master Rhaeg asked as he looked up listening to the small sprite chitter and giggle in his ear.

"Of course." Elasco set a small box down and opened it, Inside a small head piece of ivory, mounted on a silken band, small loops and broken chain links indicating it was only a portion of a larger piece. He brushed at a patch of his jacket that was singed and torn. "I had a bit of trouble on the docks, nothing to worry about though."

Boorie sucked in his breath and pushed the lever under his foot. the powerful catapult launched his glider forward. the rough wooden and wound rope structure shuddering as it released. The young boy whooped in a mix of fear and exhilaration as his small slender winged craft was hurtled over the ledge of his island.
Open skies surrounded him, far below the shape of a larger islands appeared in the layers of cloud and mist that separated it from he smaller drifting islands above. Far above the great forge burned warm and steady, and all around him schools of glimmering winged 'fish" swam and darted chasing smaller prey and gathering pollen from the heavy veil of wind drifting mix of spores and pollen.
Boorie twisted his body to shift his weight and yanked hard on the yoke swooping up and back in a tight turn the slender swept wings of his glider bowing and flexing as he angled back around to join the other young men testing their wings on the warm spring tide winds.
A dozen gliders of varied design formed into a loose wedge darting and swooping among a field of drifting boulders and free floating trees. each boy trying to prove he was the most skilled, and bolder pilot.

The Mekot cruiser "Graf Zhandae" cruised surrounded by sleek fast moving escorts. her gray and black hull blending into the overcast expanse of the Storm Reach, on her decks crewmen swabbed the decks, and tended to the huge oil fired steam turbines that powered the ships lifters and props,
Streaking along side a heavily armed single man FiegPanzer kept pace it's ball turrets and narrow pilots windows giving it a powerful lethal appearance. the formation trekked deeper into the Storm Reach searching for pirates plaguing the galleons who plied the routes between the Continent and it's occasional rival and tenuous trading partner Avalon. Her lookouts scanning the skies for hidden boulders, and uncharted drifts of shattered rock that made the voyage risky even without the constant risk of attack by ruthless opportunistic looking for a fat Galleon and it's cargo.

"Contact!"a crewman shouted as the wire needles jumped and moved crossing on the background. it's rate of change faster than a drifting rock.

" Single contact, forty Knots, strong return." a second crewman called.

" Sound to quarters." A deck officer ordered." Send the fliegers to inspect the contact."

On the bridge wings lights began to flicker signaling the escorts to break off and move to inspect the unseen ship in the clouds ahead. Three of the craft growled in response their powerful alchemical engines pouring power into their turbines and sending them howling off ahead of the Cruiser. Their pilots tightening their harnesses and gunners swinging their guns as they scanned for unseen enemies.

The Open skies are a place of wonder and danger, islands of stone as large as continents endlessly circling around the burning fire of the great forge, a legendary Machine that gives heat and light to the realms and held the chaotic abyss at bay beyond the great Pale.
Great kingdoms rise after a long dark age caused by a war beyond imagination. a war that destroyed two realms spanning empires and left one continent a barren waste, and the other a sea of shattered stone and drifting ruins. these Empires now reach out into the unsettled reaches of the realms seeking resources, prestige, and a means to ensure they are the dominant power in the realms.
Magic and technology gained from long difficult study of long lost tomes and machines found among the ruins of ancient cities give the folk of the realms the means to travel and tame the far flung pockets of civilization among the open skies.
Even as rumors of coming war grow, armies mass, and Leaders rattle their sabers a growing dread eclipses the fear of conflict. A darkness is coming, to lands where darkness is fleeting a brief.
Once a year the great forge dims to a ruddy red orb in the sky. darkness creeps into every realm and creatures form the eternally darkened reaches far from the forge sweep upward to harass and terrorize the folk of the realms. once every few centuries the forge is extinguished and true darkness descends on the realms for months if not years. the time of the great Dimming grows near, In every quarter tales and whispers of creatures of the lower reaches are told in every tavern and guild hall.
War looms, darkness rises, and adventure for those brave enough to take to the open skies call. Who will answer the call, what adventures riches, and terrors await them. Only time will tell.

This game will be using a classless, and customization friendly D20 (DEBUGGED)system.
For basic mechanics and skills. Combat and powers will be using a skill based system that allows full customization of  combat styles and powers to suit the players desires without saddling the players with any cumbersome math or arbitrary rules.
In addition there are no mandatory and arbitrary limits on styles. The the GM and Player will be working together to make each character as unique, and effective, as possible. By setting personal "special effects", limitations, and advantages within the framework of skills, powers and techniques provided, each Player will be able to structure an character who will be both unique and as effective as he wishes to be without being hobbled or saddled with someone else's view of how he should do thing.
No characters are automatically useless in a given situation all characters have an equal chance to excel in a field of their choosing and are fully capable of shining in their area of specialty without running to hide behind their friends, unless the player wants it that way.

Character will begin play at third level. Either as one of the described races or a race they create using a simple system to tailor their own. ( player created races will be subject to GM approval and will be used as NPCs or for flavor in the game by the GM)
Magic, Mechanical Engineering( Mechaniks,) and Technomancy are common and equally powerful in this world, Powers tools and devices will have minor advantages and limitations based on their origin and be commonly available.
The world is a fairly modern, ( pre-World War one to pre-world War Two) with some isolated enclaves of much more advanced tech and magic, and enclaves of medieval culture and advancement.
Magic,Science, and religion are in competition, but not at odds. each group of specialists seeks to advance and improve their own specialization but tend to view other specializations as mere competitors for resources power and prestige not threats to their existence.

New players welcomed. Player attrition has whittled down the number of players lately and I am looking for brave new souls to enjoy this original game world.

Encouraged concepts and roles:

Technomancers
Wizards/sorcerers
Alchemists
Explorers/Archeologists
Priests/healers
Living Constructs
Beast Folk
Fey creatures and races
fairies/sprites/pixies

Just started a game of Deadlands Reloaded, not Victorian Steampunk, but Mad Scientists would surely be hired for the expedition of Lord Albany Berrybender as he sets of to create a theme park of abominations captured from the Weird West.  Tinkers and others would fit well in a very brass western game...link to another game

Re: Game Advertisements

Hello, everyone! Newbie here.

I've seen some folks express an interest in a Steampunk game, and I wanted to try my hand at it, so I've started a new game called:

GAS LAMPS AND STEAM

MILLIEU
Victorian era steampunk with a touch of classic Jules Verne and H. G. Wells science fiction, Space: 1889, Wold Newton, some pulp fiction a la the Centurions, early arrival of art deco, and even some Ruritanian romance. Actually, it’s kind of all the same thing, just with a different hat at different times. Set at the turn of the century (1899), characters are out to become rich or successful, make a name for themselves, avenge an injustice, explore the unknown, solve ancient mysteries, discover new inventions, go somewhere no one has been before, see the world, change the world or just have grand adventures.

Vampires and zombies aren’t real (or are they?), and man has not gone to the moon or Mars yet (well, it at least hasn’t been in the newspapers). There is no such thing as ghosts, magic, or mysticism (powers of the mind).

You are in London to begin with, but you can easily go to the four corners of the world. Why are you in London? How did you get here? What secrets do you keep?

((I have no idea how to post a link to it.))

Okay so this aint *exactly* steampunk. But it is set in Victorian England. Its ADULT so no kids, please (except for us big ones).

H.P. Lovecraft:
I have seen the dark universe yawning
Where the black planets roll without aim,
Where they roll in their horror unheeded,
Without knowledge, or lustre, or name.

Darkwood Asylum, 1892

Am I insane? The legal definition of insanity is:-

quote:
Mental illness of such a severe nature that a person cannot distinguish fantasy from reality, cannot conduct her/his affairs due to psychosis, or is subject to uncontrollable impulsive behavior.

So perhaps I am insane. But what is fantasy and what is reality? I thought I once knew. Until I saw what lurks within the shadows beyond conscious thought. Psychosis? Yes perhaps I do exhibit some Psychotic behaviour. I cannot walk on a clear night where the stars are visible. Lakes and trees scare me. The moon to me is an evil, mocking face.

Impulsive? No. I'm not impulsive. Not any more. Inaction is the best form of survival. Curiosity did not just kill the cat. It tore out its eyes, ripped out its heart and sent its mind screaming into a tortured abyss in which it drowned in its own horror.

My 'gift' brought me to this room. This metal cage and iron manacles. But it's ok. Locked in this room I am as safe as I ever will be from the horrors of the dark universe out there. Am I insane? No. I'm probably the sanest person on Earth.

Each have been touched by the beyond. Some were born with it. Some just developed it one day. Each harnessed it in a different way. Perhaps they saw the future in dreams. Perhaps they could move objects with their minds. Perhaps they saw the spirits of the dead. Some would say they are gifted. But they may argue that they are cursed. Their talents will bring them together, send them to dark places where people should never have to tread. There they will find and face horrors that no one should have to face. Will they stand against the horrors that lurk beyond life's edge? Or will the horrors consume them and rain triumphant madness upon the world?

This game is set in Victorian England and follows a group of 'gifted' individuals recruited into a clandestine organisation known as the Shadow Walkers. Players will begin the game having no knowledge of this organisation. They will be struggling with their 'gifts', trying to survive. Circumstances will lead them to the Cornish town of Darkwood and their recruitment into the Shadow Walkers.

I am looking for 3-5 Players and I will be keeping it small. Players will NOT be accepted on a first come, first served basis. It may take some time for your RTJ to be accepted / rejected.

This game is still in the design phase. More will be added to the wiki as time goes on.

Introducing:
The Kingdoms of Steam and Magic

This is a richly imagined original Steampunk fantasy set in a mythical world of nine kingdoms. Many races, limited magic, very specific technology, all in exquisite balance.

You might be a dwarf merchant from Khauvit in the Kingdom of Fire. Or a human scholar-mage from the Land of the Book. A lusty Amazon from the Forest lands.

The GM will help explain details of the land and its history, but the story is up to you and the other players. Form caravans to explore, or hire a dirigible to see the sights from the air. Enter politics or the arts. Visit tea shops and mountaintops and exotic brothels. Establish and explore relationships of all kinds -- you know what I mean -- with other players and GM-managed characters. Your imagination will combine with the ideas of the GM and other players to weave a rich tapestry of unexpected sights and experiences.

The game is freeform, but shared goals may develop in collaboration with other players. If things get slow, the GM may manufacture an outside threat, an earthquake or typhoon, or the sudden rise of an outlaw band of wizards. You'll never know quite what to expect. But you will be called upon to help create every bit of it. This story will evolve as your creation, in collaboration with other players.

We're assembling a cadre of players with vivid imaginations that know no bounds, to create a memorable shared experience. Join us!

The world is a sandbox world with direct influences of the Gai Shift world by a writer named Rohana, who writes erotic stories (http://rohana12000.deviantart.com/). That means that a large part of the world-content is erotic in nature, like some of the everyday items and some of the races too.

It is a steampunk world that contains electricity, enhanced steampower and certain forms of magic/alchemy, but is largely set in a feudalistic environment with Emperors, Empresses, Patricians, Kings and Queens...

It is majorly a non-violent world, with murders almost banned completely within the past 200 years, though still with all the intrigues and lies that come with trading, diplomacy and politics.

The Wandering Star is hiring brave men and women to join its crew. Travel the world and see strange and exotic people and places. Come Join us!

Need passage to another land? Have something you need transporting? Just want to travel the world? The Wandering Star has a large cargo bay to cover all your transportation needs. It also has some luxurious cabins and excellent entertainment and recreational facilities to make your journey as a passenger highly enjoyable. Cheap rates! Come take a look!

Re: Game Advertisements

Imagine a world where the First World War never ended and the Bolshevik Revolution never happened. Inspired in equal parts by Girl Genius, The Laundry Files, Hellboy, and Unhallowed Metropolis, engineers battle zombies in the Imperial Court of an alternate-universe magical Russia. It is 1920 and the Motherland is besieged by the undead armies from the west. You are a mašinamastera — a machine wizard. Your project group is charged with developing archanotech devices to save Russia from the undead hordes while maneuvering through an increasingly treacherous political landscape, keeping secrets from rival groups, avoiding and engaging in sabotage, and somehow attaining Rasputin's blessing to present your finished magical machine of war to the Imperial Court.

Snow falls over St. Petersburg or, as it has been known for the last six years, Petrograd. In the distance you can hear the big guns, but war with the Germans has yet to touch the capital. The center of Russian art and culture continues what the French used to call La Belle Époque (when there was still a France). For six long years, the Great War has ground onwards, with ever more unconventional weapons being used. In the west, the Germans have stalled in protracted trench warfare against the might of British wizardry and the new tanks, and have turned their undead armies to the east. Though outmatched by the magic of the Imperial Starets led by Rasputin, every soldier that falls adds to the German ranks. They now control Ida-Viru County and advance towards the city. Desperate, and desperate not to seem so, Tsar Nicholas II has reached out to any who might be able to save Mother Russia.

DramaSystem allows players and gamemasters to weave an epic, ongoing saga of high-stakes interpersonal conflict that grows richer with every session. Its rules engine, from acclaimed game designer Robin D. Laws, takes the basic structure of interpersonal conflict underlying fiction, movies, and television and translates it to the world of tabletop roleplaying. This simple framework brings your creativity to the fore and keeps a surprising, emotionally compelling narrative constantly on the move. As you build your story, you mold and shape the setting to fit its needs. Iron Tsar is rated ADULT more for the level of maturity expected of players than for probable content. Please follow this link to another game for further information.

Iron Tsar update:

I am holding auditions for a cast replacement but lurkers and/or kibbitzers are also welcome to apply.

Kibbitzers should read the articles below, and be familiar with the tropes of alternate histories.

 ~ http://www.gnomestew.com/treas...g-of-evil-overlords/

Your application for a kibbitzing role must include a brief list of faction types which interest you.

Read the series pitch's Adversaries section for ideas, at this link to a message in another game.

If accepted, you shall be assigned a faction to run or allowed to pitch one of your own creation.

Re: Game Advertisements

I am reposting my game advertisement for Arth here. There are many steampunk elements.

Enter Arth- a world of pulp like adventure, steamworks, clockworks, alchemy, and mystery. There will be plenty of surprises. At some point in the campaign expect the nature of the campaign to change drastically, even genres.

The Setting:
The Prometheus Bound campaign will begin in Arth. Arth is world geographically and somewhat similar to early 1900s earth, but there are numerous differences. Technology is driven by clockworks or steam power through manipulation of key elements, alchemy exists, and empires still rule most lands. It is a world of lost civilizations, secret cabals, cults, and organizations, languages, wonders, and mysteries.

Arth will have decidedly pulp feel with steam punk elements and alchemy thrown into the mix. All characters in Arth must be human. There are no elves, dwarves, or alien races open to player characters.

The Game System:
The game system is a home brewed concoction created by me. I will be running it as a semi-black box system. You will be expected to go through a detailed character creation process, maintain a character, and spend experience points to upgrade the character. This will guide what your character can do within the campaign.

In the campaign the rules will act behind the scene. You will describe what actions you would like the character to perform, but the actual rules and rolls will be done by me behind the scenes. Based on those rolls and rules your character will succeed or fail in their actions.

I will litter the campaign with adventures and adventure lines, but if the characters decide not to follow any of the adventures they may go and explore Arth until they run into another adventure.

Player etiquette:
This is mature game due to potential violence and some mature situations. That being said I want to keep it light PG-13. There will be no sex scenes, graphic torture, or super detailed violent descriptions. I also want to avoid profanity. The easy way to do this is to assume that as this is a different world, the common curses or obscenities will be different, feel free to make up your own, but don’t use ones from our society. For example, in the classic Conan the Barbarian stories Conan’s favorite curse was “by Crum”.

I expect players to be courteous to one another. Don’t try and control other characters besides your own or dictate the plot of the story. If you have a problem or a question, please let me know first before venting publicly in the threads at me or other players.

I expect a posting rate of two to three posts per week. You may have periods of absences, I certainly will, but please let me know in advance so I can arrange to sideline or divert your character.
Violation of these rules will result in character death and being banned from the game.

Request To Join (RTJ):
Should include the following-
Username:
Your Age:
Character Concept:
You may want to look over Arth a Primer and the Character creation guidelines before choosing a character concept.
One paragraph writing sample: This can be a more detailed character concept or history, part of a story, or any other original work. I am not picky, but it should be creative writing done by you.

I will try to respond to your RTJ in 2-3 days. If you are approved, I will open up a character creation thread for you ask questions and develop a character. You will create a character using the character creation guidelines within 1-2 weeks, after which you will begin to play.

Thief

Re: Game Advertisements

Steampunk through revival of old technology. This game also incorporates aspects of mutation, vampirism, and limited magic.

For the purposes of more diverse playing, I'm willing to work with people on story lines outside of the one's provided. For the purposes of mystery about the world, I'm only letting you in on the world that you choose to be a part of. For example, do you want to be above ground / in a more populated or technologically advanced area? You will only know about the area there. I will give you context after you give me a vague character concept.

Also willing to be flexible on adding stats to the character sheet to fit your concept.

quote:
The world has suffered some kind of massive calamity. Humanity has survived, but at a great cost. In addition to the population decrease, much of humanity's knowledge about the world and how it works has been lost.

The narrative that dictates the current state of things on the timeline of the world suggests a highly centralized and competitive few world powers dictating the flow of global economics and military rattling sabers and entering conflict that resulted in a super-weapon causing such calamity to technology and infrastructure that over 95% of the global population died within years as a result of ensuing conflict and shocks to the environment as well as the damage to local and global food distribution networks.

The resulting political situation allowed for the increasing visibility or perhaps creation of a new ruling class of vampires to take political control with those who were willing to sacrifice their humanity to gain political power as various networks of control were created the predominant political organizations closely resemble despotism.

The story begins in what are called the "Claudius Tunnel Society," a vast network of tunnels of tile, tracks. Most of the society, the human underclass exists as miners, rat and edible fungus farmers and highly supervised scavengers who go above the tunnels to salvage building material. Poverty is the norm, even for those who rule, and economic and social freedom is non-existent. Property is largely kept private, as whatever you owned could be taken by the vampire lapdogs: "Ghouls," reading was fundamentally forbidden, and it was not uncommon for members of society to be taken and never returned.

The tunnels are ruled by a Vampire named King Claudius, his harem of vampire women, an unknown panel of human intelligentsia who had the privilege of reading and limited wealth, and small branch of Ghoul Military Commanders, humans who had a healthy dose of vampire blood in exchange for total devotion, youth, and athletic vitality: and their human police force. It was suspected that the tunnels had a population of roughly 10,000.

The technology in the tunnels, it was all most of you ever knew (outside of those imported for labor purposes, forced to the tunnels due to a hostile outside environment, etc.) was limited to gas lights, crude tools, and an unknown method of communal running water was meager. The police utilized swords and crude blunt instruments, and the pickaxes, and fireaxes the miners used were about all there was to labor with.

Top priority for whomever you are, is to find a way out of Claudius' rule, whether it be by escape or otherwise.

http://beta.rpol.net  or try this then do a search.

Alright I'll see if this works.
I have been experimenting on the new version of RPOL on RPOL-Beta.
See game link above. I need to test actual game play and am thinking of creating a mostly freeform/homebrew sandbox Steam-, Diesel-, Cyber-, Arcane Clockwork, -punk game to test out that it works the way it should.

One warning if we manage to prove the Rpol system we may End up with it dropping out of control, but in that case I will attempt to move it to RPOL-alpha.

This mostly takes place on an island with an active volcano that is more geyser than lava.

This volcano is the location of the City of Bronze Gears, which is on the Mountain of Bronze Gears.

Click on the above game link and you will be in Rpol beta. and send me an RTJ, with an idea of the kind of character you want to play.  If you want a better idea of the possibilities, well PM me and I con let you know more.  Two examples, cybertech here is based on arcane crystals, the volcanos venting has make private travel by "Harness Kite" popular.

The story so far can be found outlined in the "411" post in the game.

GM: The [preferred] end point is known, but how [or if] the players get there is up to them.
System: Risus, but emphasis is strongly on story
Campaign Options: Hooks and Tales, Pumping Clichés, Double Pumps, Lucky Shots
Points/Dice: 10 Dice
Description: In a city in between the worlds, Magic and Technology collide to create opportunity for adventures.
System use expectations: If you might gain money or items, we will roll for it, GM will outline success threshold. If it is a battle, we will roll for it, GM will tell you the enemy's stats, but you can RP the results of both your rolls and the enemy's rolls if you like, unless otherwise specified. If it doesn't involve money, item acquisition, or death, you don't have to roll for it. If you prefer not to roll, you can attempt an action and I can roll for you.

Not familiar with Risus? No problem. Ask any question you like, or freeform and I'll guide you into the system as deeply as you wish to dive.

In the city of Portcullis, an unlikely band of adventurers work mostly together as they seek to fulfill Synthia's last request.

Synthia will gather together the adventuers to explore a newly discovered portal. Spoiler!

Spoiler text: (Highlight or hover over the text to view)
She will die tragically, and make a last request.

Sample (this has not happened ingame [and may not happen at all]
quote:
Scilick grabbed her by the hair, holding his charged Dagger to her throat, he shouted, "Leave her with me, and escort yourselves out. She's paid you, hasn't she?"

Sprocket snarled, his steel hackles rose, he bared his titanium plated teeth and barked, "Let her go! We already know where Auricle is, you can't stop us from getting there now! It's pointless!"

Scilick tilted his head to the side, and whispered, "You're bluffing." He tightenned his grip on her hair and the dagger, then he shouted, "I said LEA-"

He was cut short by a laser blast to his Dagger arm. The distraction had worked. His Dagger arm flew away from her, and he quickly ducked behind the wall. The team jumped into action, preparing to battle Scilick and his bodyguards.

The game will benefit from any cliches (NPCs will fill any gaps):
Engineer
Scavenger
DeathTalker
Shardsmith
Mancers to wield shards
Healer

Any Cliche is potentially acceptable, describe it in your CS and await approval or suggestion.

More players are welcome, if you come in late, you can still join, I'll help the transitions.
If we lose a vital PC, I'll have an NPC temporarily fill in, and the PC can return at any time. I'll RP the exit and return to flow well and make sense.

Gas Lamps & Steam

My game is still running. Just added two new players.

It's Victoriana Steampunk, set in a Space: 1889 world sans the interplanetary travel. I was working on an Earth atlas for our homegrown revision of Space: 1889, and kept coming up with all sorts of great ideas. I thought it'd be fun to explore some of these places.

The more research I wound up doing, the less fantastical the ideas turned out to be.

It's a mostly free form game.

The group has recently flown via airship from Graustark in the Balkans to Lugaash on the Arabian Peninsula (the Pink Panther movies setting). They are on the trail of Vril assassins.

Gas Lamps & Steam

Hey guys. I've created a hybrid strategy/world-building game inspired by the "Girl Genius" web comic. Players assume the rule of a dynasty of Sparks (hereditary mad scientists) and guide their dynasty throughout the ages.

You don't have to be a Girl Genius fan to play, but since it enjoys a very steampunk/gas lamp fantasy/dieselpunk aesthetic I thought you guys might enjoy it. The game is called 'A Clash of Sparks' and is essentially in playtest mode. I'm looking for 2-3 more players.

Alternate Earth, 1923

Welcome to the United Empire

In a time when the British empire ruled the skies and its empire expanded across Europe, a young lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon refused to marry the eligable prince Albert, Duke of York. Instead, Queen Mary arranged a marriage between him and one of the daughters of the Japanese emperor Meji, strengthening an alliance of empires which sought to unite all under a single rule.

Britain's success in the Great War had caused Britain to further develop the Stirling Engine, favoring steam over diesel. That technological revolution continued. It became a golden age where airships sailed the winds high above the lands. Innovations in Steam power and clockwork combined with new techniques for harnessing steam energy brought about a technological revolution like no other.

Unknown to most of the world, there were agencies that worked towards the gaining of power through the occult. Their experiments, while mostly failures, eventually caused tears in the fabric of reality. These tears caused ripples, affecting humans and even altering parts of reality itself, sending the timeline of Earth off of its predestined path and into an uncertain future. Many forms of shifters such as Lycans, Bastet and Kitsune now walked amoungst us. Vampires fed off human blood and the Sakybasu fed off Kai energy released during sex. Mythological creatures such as Yokai and Oni appeared and even the Sirens called out from the sea.

After the Salem Witch Hunts, a secret organization was quickly established to keep the presence of these new species hidden. They walk amongst us now but few know about their true natures.

On the south west coast of Britain sits the city of Truro, Cornwall. Its Elysium District houses many of these species, hidden from the eyes of the world. And it is our home.

Specifically we have a few female characters needing adoption. But new concepts also wrlcome.

In Cog We Trust

There's some discussion brewing over in the GURPS Community Lounge about a potential effort to get a GURPS Steampunk oriented living world up and running. Feel free to peek into the conversations and contribute. Knowledge of the system isn't an issue, and some free resources are available for GURPS, and I have a feeling that a proposed setting would be rules-lite in gameplay, and mostly just heavy during creation to ensure pinpoint balance of characters and assets at the onset.

In Cog We Trust

Hello everyone.

I know I'm a little late to the party here, but just stopping by to bring to your attention a steampunk game I've been running for a little over a year now that's closing in on 2800 posts. I've had my original run of players complete the game and am looking for more intrepid investigators, fabricators, bravos, swordsmen, sleuths and pistoleers to step into my world of soot and steam.

Here is the blurb in the Game Info thread:

Blackout is a comedy, steampunk, action-adventure romp through Victorian England in the latter part of the 19th century, 1887 to be exact. This is a solo game, just you the player, and me the GM, on a quest for fun, frivolity, a few laughs, and somewhere in the mix there will be an adventure or two for you to solve and reap the rewards of, or fail and become a laughing stock amongst your friends, rivals, and the entirety of Her Majesty’s realm. No pressure. There's not. Really. Since it's a solo, I'm the only one who will know of your shortcomings.

So without further ado, don your goggles, tighten your corset and/or gun belt, consult the analytical engine and off we’ll go to solve the blights plaguing jolly old England. But whatever you do, don’t forget your punch cards!

- A simple set of homebrew rules will be used that are explained in one post--one somewhat lengthy post--but one post, nonetheless. Truly, this is a game for anyone and everyone!

That did seem like a good game.
I'm glad to hear that it has made it to one year, and (hopefully) will continue entertaining you and your players.
