Re: OOC

I don't mind either way.

The Malazan books are a moderately interesting series.  Erikson has a bunch of great ideas, but I think he could have made the plot better.

Re: OOC

If I can make multiple characters, I'll throw dudes into every faction! ;)

Re: OOC

That's a tempting offer.  You really want to play 5 different characters?

Re: OOC

If the factions are going to be at war with each other, I am not sure about the idea of having characters in multiple factions.

I checked the cast and so far, Alyssa's clan is the only one with 1 PC. Maybe you could try to recruit an extra player for her clan to balance things out?

Re: OOC

There are several other people who have PMed me about joining and just haven't gotten around to giving me any info.  I'm hoping one of them will join.

In reply to Worldmaster (msg #24):

I would totally play 5 different characters. :)

I would also totally enjoy writing them beating on each other! And the dice would keep me honest while I'm killing myself. ;)

Re: OOC

I'll have to think about that.  However, many people would be able to run away.  Crashing it on a city or fast enough to prevent people from running away would probably damage your city enough that you couldn't do it twice.

Re: OOC

When in doubt, drop the city.

Of course, the best way to stop/damage/destroy a floating city or other flying thing is to sneak aboard and activate Immovable Rods.

Re: OOC

Really, I think it would really depend on how pointy the city is.  The more gothic its construction (with pointy spires and tall towers), the more damage it would probably do to the underside of your city.  Of course, if you just want to colony drop it and not worry about the damage, that could still work.  You'd just have to drop it with enough force that it would manage to push down over the spires.

Also, hello.  I'm new to the game.  I'll be updating my character description later, but I don't quite have the time now.  I just thought I'd drop a note saying hi and that I look forward to thwarting all of you as the only good faction in the game right now.  I think I might have my work cut out for me.

Re: OOC

Really depends what your floating city is built on top of. :P

If it's effectively an upside down mountain like a lot of "floating cities", it wouldn't really matter what the crushed city looked like. xD

Much like Laputa from Gulliver's Travels. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laputa)

Hello, everybody. I look forward to smashing your armies and enslaving you all very soon. Have a nice day. :)

Re: OOC

Why do all you evil types have to enslave people and kill people and such?  That's very rude, you know.

Re: OOC

I'm offended, thats a complete waste of life! We only kill if needed!

Everyone else, we just turn into animals. Win-win!

Re: OOC

You, or someone you know, haven't tried summoning some dark or evil god or demon or something to destroy civilization, have you?  I once ran into someone who did similar things to what you do, but that person used it as an end (by using the animals to protect him and his forest) to destroy civilization by summoning his dark god or demon or something.  You haven't been cavorting about with demons, have you?

Re: OOC

Well, I haven't been cavorting with Demons, but in my old village where I was seen as an outcast, everyone thought I did.

I mean, seriously. Is there anything wrong with a man just wanting to live off the land on his own?

Re: OOC

Do we all get a commander aura (Heroes of Battle, p. 75)? If so, what is our initial military rank? Thanks.

Re: OOC

Commander auras.  Yes.  Ranks.  The leaders of the faction start with a rank of 1, everyone else 0.  This will go up with each encounter.

Re: OOC

Wow, I just got a very interesting question from one of you guys.  One that I think I will allow and let everyone else be scared.  Someone just came up with a game changer.  Of course, it will have to wait until I level you guy up.  Then you should all be scared.

Re: OOC

Did the question go something like, "Are we allowed to take the Leadership feat?"
