Shorty stands up and reaches for his sword.  He looks to Know Man and says, “Come friend or stay, me go home now.  Horizon say can gets me home.” Shorty draws his new blade and looks for an answer.

Shorty shakes his head and neither sits nor returns his sword to its scabbard.  He stares Dualis down.  “Safe how?  You just say Head Magic Man… uh. Psionist know where home is.  You say he can wipe out family. Them not bait. So how safe?” Shorty glances at Warwick to check his own understanding.

Morteft says, "Shorty, he said he didn't read your mind, though. Just that he could have easily. Since he didn't read your mind, your family is safe."

"Yes Shorty, both Morteft and Warwick are correct.  The psionicist could have read your mind but he did not.  He may have given you a head ache with a blast, but that was all he did.  He does not know where your home is located." he pauses  "Further, I have a friend watching the area as a precaution.  All are safe."

Shorty sits but keeps Horizons in his lap running his hand over the hilt.  He then reaches ujp with his oft hand to touch the Diadem.  He looks at Dualis and asks, “How know what he see in me head when he attack me and Cat?  Before dis crown, not be much in head ta read.  Coulda seen home easy.”

"That may be true." Dualis says "No matter how little is on your mind he would still need to actively scan you; which he did not do.  Orkex was monitoring psionic activity."

Shorty nods.  “Den what next.  We see was dere to keeps Allannon from fightin all dem.  Where talk going?”

"Now for second day." Dualis continues  "From this day we get some disturbing information, although should not be surprising considering our foe."  The image of the battlefield as you remember the start of day two illuminates.

"Since they had a better understanding of their new opponents they came more prepared and this is where the disturbing part comes in.  Given Trysk's use of teleport, they got to the field early and they cast Plane Lock, Paedur's Plane Lock to be exact.  That is a Delith based spell and what we can gather from that is that they have access to the spells developed here and by the more renown wizards like Teke, Selen, Catedra etc.; which would somewhat negate their benefit.  Anyway, Paedur's Plane Lock stops any Teleport from working in the area and it is a fairly large area.  That is why when you tried to teleport you got bounced to random positions."  You see your figures pop out and in on the image.  "Of course before this the Death Knight cast Dispel Magic in your area, negating most spells except for Alannon's.  You can also see that they are tightly packed, different than the day before as they were spread out.  They had a Cube of Force in operation; which is why Alannon had you cast that spell Morteft.  Combined with Alannon's spells it overwhelmed the cube and now the true battle begins."  Dualis lets the image continue and you watch the battle unfold from above.

"I'm agreeing, lad.  I didn't know we were bait, never mind what spells were being cast.  I thought were going there because we were going as equals to Allanon and our opponents.  We weren't.  Maybe now that we have survived, we might be their equals.  Although I still wonder about that."

Trysk shakes his head, "No, that wasn't my point. We work for Dualis, so I don't expect him to share all of the strategic information. We knew we were there to fight the minions of Set. I'm just concerned that Alannon and Morteft didn't share what they knew with us. Tactical communication is important during a battle. Isn't that why Dualis gave us these amulets?'
