In reply to Shorty (msg # 937):

Shorty wantders into the library and takes a seat.  He looks for some scrap paper and a pencil and practices his letters while he waits for everyone to get up.  Shorty will continue to try humming the song of the tree whilwew he works, hoping someday to get it right.

Re: Some R&R, Rest & Resurrection

Ez’ard enters the library after Shorty, if we were the first to arrive he will ask the library for the same book and continue from where he left off. If others are there he will greet them and await for the meeting to come to order.

In reply to Ez'ard (msg # 939):

Ez’ard asks the library if it has any locks he can practice on.

OOC: does putting food in a bag of holding preserve it? does it come out as fresh as it went in?

Re: Some R&R, Rest & Resurrection

In reply to Ez'ard (msg # 941):

OOC: yes, I consider anything put in the bag is sort of in a type of stasis so food would stay fresh at least for a while.

No locks to practice on .. does this look like a Thieves Guild?

Books are at your disposal.

Eventually Celestron flies by while Shorty hums.  Celestron does a loop and comes back to land on the table in front of Shorty.  Celestron looks at Shorty "What is that tune and where did you learn it?"

OOC - Does that mean creatures put in the bag would be in stasis, too?

Re: Some R&R, Rest & Resurrection

Ez’ard says hello to Warwick and introduces Sharak. To Sharak he says, ‘this is Warwick, a great lord of the dwarves in these lands. He is one of Shorty’s and my adventuring companions.’

If there is time while we wait for the others, Ez’ard will pull out the Spell book Know-man gave him and see if he can learn a few more spells.
Level 2: Mirror image
Level 3: Spectral force, Phantom steed

OOC: these were from the private thread that we didn’t get to.

OOC: You will not know until you try regarding stasis.

Celestron regards Shorty "Which tree was this you speak?"

Warwick greets Sharak "A pleasure and welcome."  Sharak responds "screech"

Shorty lays down his pencil and studies the small dragon.  Celestron seems almost too interested in the tree.  “Special tree from me home.  Why bees so many question bout it?”

Celestron replies "Point of fact I only asked 1 question about a tree, 1 is not that many.  Further, if you notice, we are in a library a warehouse of knowledge.  I am the keeper and gatherer of the knowledge therefore I try to learn things.  What about you.  Now, you speak of the tree in Alannon's grove, yes?"

In reply to Ron, The DM (msg # 950):

Shorty grins at Celestron.  He looks momentarily pleased of himself.  “Ask2 question.  First question hab 2 part.  Dat make.”  Shorty concentrates really hard on his lessons.  “Dat make tree question.  No dat bo bees right.  Three question.  Three come after two and afore four.  Ifn want me ken helps youse wid big number.  Just gots ta practice.”

He waits a second to see if his new skill in higher level math impresses the small dragon and then continues.  “Dat tree bery special.  Most portent ting ta protect in me home. An yes.  Me talk ta it.  Alannon bery busy.  Me people need land ta grows strong agin.  Me ask fer helps ta grow tings.  It gib me song.  No sings it right way yet.  Gonna keeps try hard.  Youse know what song posed ta do? “

Re: Some R&R, Rest & Resurrection

In reply to Shorty (msg # 951):

Celestron just gives Shorty a straight faced dragon look and then goes into a treatise. "The first two questions where specific to the song.  The third question was about the tree.  Two questions for song and one for tree.  Now the forth question was regarding my assertion in regards to the actual tree since you seemed unable to answer my question about the tree.  Total 4 questions one specific to the tree.  Help me with numbers indeed. When you begin to learn Algebra then we can talk about math.  I am gathering accounts about these 'songs' and cataloguing the types and specific meanings thereof."  he flies off mumbling things about what they teach these days.

In reply to Ron, The DM (msg # 952):

Shorty listens to the small dragon’s monolog with an unblinking stare.  Mostly because there are so many words that he has never heard before.  As Celestron flies away.  “Maybeso he no wants me help wid number.  Just tried ta bees nice.  An neber tells how ta gets song right.”

OOC:  if the group is not getting together till that evening, is there time for an trip into town?

In reply to Ron, The DM (msg # 955):

I believe it was the capital.  Shorty visited a magic shop that was run by a rather cranky old dwarf.  But the dwarf treated Shorty fairly.  He got the Black sword and guantlet identified there and that was where he bought his boots of varied tracks.  Unless Art suggests some place different to visit.

In reply to Ron, The DM (msg # 957):

Shorty pulls a single piece of paper out of the pile where he has been practicing.  There are several attempts at words, all scratched out.  Below that are simple drawings of the things Shorty wants to look for.  Then he invites Ez’ard amd the jawk tp join him.
