When everyone is ready, Trysk starts heading back to the cave where they fought the ice devil and wights/wraith.

Re: Delith: Within the Unknown

In reply to Trysk (msg # 971):

You all head that way back to the huge cavern.  When you are about 3/4 of the way back you again feel the earth trembler and the ominous feeling that went with it.

You make it back and go up the short set of stairs and are in the auxiliary room off the big cavern and you see the blue ore streaks in the southern section of the wall.

Actions?

OOC: You are in the 'room' just right of the crab room.

In reply to Ez'ard (msg # 970):

Shorty does not seem surprised that the arch does not work.  He responds to Trysk.   *ken youse gets ta da stair?  Or maybeso tunnel bees fall down?*

Shorty mutters to himself as he waits for Trysk to respond.  “No bery smart Shorty.  Gets catched in ogre trap.  Posed ta knowed better.  Needs ta finds bat agin.:

OOC:  Other than the ogre who is having a flashback.  Maybeso PTSD after his time Under the Hill…..  Memory says there are two possiblilities left here.  The mold tunnel that we avoided if memory serves me right and the room with the pillars that we did not check for secret doors.  Which by the way is the direction that a large number of the surviving bats retreated down.

OOC: All the areas on the map (2nd level) now link up (the SW section is now complete, just not shown yet).  So if there is another area on the 2nd level to explore then you missed the access to it.

*Let's start checking for secret doors in this big cavern.  It doesn't make sense that all those forces were here and there's no access to the lich.*

Re: Delith: Within the Unknown

In reply to Ron, The DM (msg # 976):

OOC:  Hmmm.  Was the corridor that had mold in it on this level?

This came after the blue ore room

The southern passage narrows for about 10' before opening up again into another cavern, its irregularly shaped and has an eastern extension that gives an eerie sight. A soft phosphorescent glow bathes the entire area independent of any other illumination, and the strange light is caused by the widespread growth (on walls, ceiling, and even parts of the floor) of a light purplish mold.

Re: Delith: Within the Unknown

In reply to Shorty (msg # 979):

Yes, both blue ore rooms are on the second level as well as the mold room.

In Shadow/wraith form you cannot pass thru walls, needs a hole some decent size crack.

No one has checked the stairs back to the 1st level.

Shorty goes to the pillar 'room' where many of the bats went.

If checking for secret doors, who, where and with what?

Actions?

Re: Delith: Within the Unknown

In reply to Ez'ard (msg # 982):

Just to avoid (my) confusion, everyone is in the big cavern room or one of its axillary rooms.  Someone could go alllll the way back to the stairs to the first level but it is a long walk.

Morteft can walk around the cavern room looking but since he is human, if there is a secret door, he will not find it without magic.

Shorty is in the pillar room looking around NH detects nothing.

In reply to Ron, The DM (msg # 984):

Ez’ard followed Shorty and will use his secret door and traps wand to humor Shorty.

OOC: I thought we all were in the SW corner of the second level where we fought the spider and then had to traverse the area to get back to the north cavern and went around east to avoid the pit trap. That way we would have gone past the area with the stairs up.

In reply to Ez'ard (msg # 986):

There is a middle path that can be taken to avoid the pit trap .. or you could fly over the pit trap, either way you would have taken one of those two shorter paths.

No secret doors located in the pillar area.

Re: Delith: Within the Unknown

In reply to Ron, The DM (msg # 984):

OOC:  I have 4 places in my notes that we have not checked for secrets.  The big battle room, The down stairs blue room.  The Pillar Room, and the Mold Room that we have avoided so far.

As for the stairs, Shorty had asked Trysk to do it while he was sneaking around unseen.  If he does not want to, then we will find out when we try to leave if the route is available.  I have no solution for the mold room.  If that is the route forward….  I have no way to go through.

Shorty thanks Ez'ard for checking the pillar room.  He says Ez'ard can help Morteft check the big room.  Shorty will spend a few moments checking the cieling to see if he can see where the bats might have escaped to since they are not in this space and this is the direction they flew off to.

Ez’ard will start on the big cavern working in a clockwise pattern starting from the entrance to the pillar offshoot. Not sure how far the spell goes so will repeat at the required intervals.

Re: Delith: Within the Unknown

In reply to Ez'ard (msg # 989):

Since Trysk checking of the unknown section took him away from the stairs to the first level, he did not actually go there.

Shorty, looking at the ceiling, cannot tell where the bats escape to the outside - no apparent spot of light.

Ez'ard will go back out to the main cavern area and begin checking with the wand there going clockwise.  It does not take long for him to locate a secret door.

The door is almost directly W of the 'X' on the map, it is on the curved section just S of the W directly W of the 'X'.

OOC: The wand is more or less instantaneous.  You need 1 charge roughly every 20' or so and 4 charges will be used to find it .. 2 in the pillar are and then 2 more going around from there.

Actions?

OOC: Will start a new thread, soon, after a few more posts

Ez’ard sends to all, *I found another secret door in the main cavern.*

OOC: Did the wand find any traps as well as the door?

While waiting for everyone who is going to gather to do so, Ez’ard will find the release mechanism.

Re: Delith: Within the Unknown

In reply to Shorty (msg # 992):

As Ez'ard checks out how to activate the secret door you feel a much more intense earth trembler; so much you feel yourself being lifted slightly and the ominous feeling is more intense as well, making you feel a little queasy.

Ez'ard does find the mechanism after he steady's himself.

OOC: New thread .. Unknown of the Unknown
