Adventuring In Megalos
Roahfustion takes the proffered blade, takes a few swishes with it, testing the weight, then checks to see how it feels hanging from her hip. She tries a few fencing moves but actually looks clumsy and doesn't really learn much. However, meanwhile having heard Blythe bend the previous fellow's ear, she chances her arm, or more accurately, her Voice. "So, this blade, not one you've made, I understand that. But you vouch for it's quality, of course?"
And off she goes, "Well, as you've said, this isn't an item you expect to sell any time soon to anyone serious about blades, like a man, so I must be a gift to you. Anyway, the blade of mine, for which you offer $300, well, I paid about double that. I have the receipt somewhere, if you doubt my word. So perhaps if I were a manwho happened to want to buy the rapier that you don't expect to be able to sell, well, perhaps a higher trade-in price for the man's rapier would be offered. And, as I am a gift to you.." She pauses, lays her zither on the counter, and then lays her medalion from Lord Hadrian beside it. "..well, so might I expect your asking price to be a gift to me, Lord Hadrian's most favoured bard. For example.."
Roahfustion picks up her zither and makes up a ditty about a bard happening upon a blademaker and how he treated her. "..and, well, I haven't finished this little song yet, as to whether it may sing praises to all who hear. I do travel far and wide in between priivate musiical performances for Lord Hadrian." She smiles, a most charming smile, and then echoes, "My friend and companion spoke truth when she said Lord Hadrian recommended that we come here and that he assured us that we would recieve the most favourable of prices possible. So, what's the most favourable of prices possible here, for I'm sure I have yet to hear them?" She chuckles, a professionally charming sound.

OOC: 19:19, Today: Roahfustion rolled 16,6,11 using 3d6,3d6,3d6. Rapier 14; Merchant 13; Diplomacy 14
There are probably a few bonuses floating around for the Merchant and Diplomacy rolls, but I'm not going to sweat them.
Essentially she's buying blind but on trust (as she isn't certain of the new blade's quality due to the failed rapier skill roll).
