The Professor's Cabin

A modern log cabin, situated at the bend of the Ohio river.  Nestled at the eastern boundary of the Shawnee forest, looks eerily quiet, overshadowed by broad spruces, tall pines, and graceful elms.  The ground floor of the cabin is stone, with high windows, narrow windows.  A cedar plank porch radiates from the stone base.
It is early evening, and there are no lights visible inside.  The yard grows wild, and the river can be heard nearby, slowly, but steadily flowing.  The only sign of life is the voracious cloud of mosquitoes that greets you as you approach, and somewhere can be heard the sound of a night-jar.

Re: The Professor's Cabin

She led Ben to the barn set just out of the forests edge, where she fed him some sweet grain and a leaf of hay. She made sure there was fresh water in the water bucket as well before exiting the box stall.
Then she led the others over to the cabin. She dug her keys out of her pocket and unlocked the door on the east side of the cabin. She stepped inside and flipped a switch to turn on the solar/wind/water powered lights. One thing for sure Jim and she agreed upon was renewable resources. She waved for the others to enter as she headed for the kitchen living area.

Re: The Professor's Cabin

01:18, Today: LoC, on behalf of Alexander De Marest, rolled 83 using 1d100. Alex perception check.

Alex walks into the cabin slowly, hands in his pockets, as surveyed the place, seemingly fascinated by the architecture.  If there was anything out of the ordinary, he didn't seem to notice, instead accepting Moon Child's offer and taking a bottle of water from the well stocked refrigerator.
