I have no idea how the current Initiative order looks.
Should I be posting some serious smack down, or not?

We just started Round 2 and you guys won initiative.  My silly mimes rolled a one adjusted to three, so post your first action Luke.  Hal already posted his action and I'm about to figure out the results :-)

It's all Luke for a while until Hal's time syncs back up with your combat.  So don't wait on any posts for Hal during your combat.

Luke, clubs do d6+strength damage plus any skill you have in the club.  Unarmed does just strength damage plus any unarmed combat skill.

Eventually unarmed is better because you can only have a skill of one with a club.  A staff is more versatile even a police nightstick, which is more like a Chinese jo stick.  But a club is just a club so it's max skill level is one.  Unarmed max skill level is six :-).  Thanks for the assist Hal.

I apologize for being so long away, its been crazy at work and I've been 'under the weather' as they say for awhile.  Still no excuse for being gone so long.  Update first thing tomorrow. I promise, from now on, at least a post a week, two if I can manage it.  You guys deserve that much at the very least.  Thanks for your patience and persistence, I'm lucky to have you both :)

I just thought you'd been working on those long promised illustrations of Hal and Luke fighting off a zombie apocalypse with young hunter Van Hellspawn.

Backstory:  After eating a dimensionaly unstable spider, the young hunter gained the power to transform into a flaming demon cat from hell, while still maintaining his sociable demeanor.  This, however, had lain dormant in his system until now.  Whatever constituted the custard contributed to a catalytic cacophony of chromosomal coalignment, transforming him into what Luke has now dubbed him, Van Hellspawn.

After extensive testing, Hal has discovered the spider had survived falling through Tara's dimensional vortex only to be pounced upon and eaten by the young hunter moment's later.  However, the instability of this new transformation is slowly deteriorating the young hunter's frontal cortex, causing him to revert more to his primal characteristics and overwriting the compassion and reasoning of their young friend.  Before too long, he will be only Van Hellspawn and nothing more.  A voracious demonic beast bent on the destruction of all life in the universe.  It's like Mad Cow disease, but for cats who've eaten dimensionally unstable spiders.

This is why they've dared to violate the Proscribed Planets Dictum and landed on Earth #000,000,666, otherwise known as Hell.  A timeline where the demonic gateway was opened by Galileo in 1633, unleashing the incalculable evil long sealed beneath the Vatican.  The land is barren, burnt, and wholly hostile.  As they've discovered, undead roam the surface in herds thousands upon thousands while their vampire overlords scheme to escape the bounds of this single world, this timeline, in their quest to bring death and destruction upon all of them.

Now, only Hal, Luke, and Van Hellspawn stand between the hordes of darkness and destruction of all life in every timeline.  Granted, the threat wouldn't have happened had they not landed the Tardis on a Proscribed Planet, but none of them knew any better when Tara, still addled by a spider falling through her dimensional vortex, suggested it as a solution to the young hunter's dire prognosis.

Thus, our heroes are once again saving the universe from themselves, one mistake at a time!

So, no worries about the delay.  We've been looking forward to this story arc.

Admittedly a very tense moment.  LOL Hal still thinks of Luke as the cook, that is hysterical.  I actually think you make a fairly good team.  Luke has the brawn and Hal definitely the brains :)

So I really want you both to survive this encounter.  You're doing wonderfully so far!

Posted.  Things are getting tense...er again :P

Hope you are both having an excellent weekend so far.

Um, I do have a question actually.  Our new player Jessica is gone (at least for now, but I've had no word from the player since then so who knows?)  Should I advertise and try to get at least one more player or are you guys okay with the game being just the two of you for now?

Honestly I'm good either way, just curious to know what you think.

I don't think we need another player, but if you advertised and someone was interested, I wouldn't be averse to it.

As long as they're not a Navy Seal Sniper Lone Wolf who carries all their stuff everywhere they go without it restricting their movement or impacting how anyone reacts to them in their multispectral camo battle armor with matching helmet that he never takes off.

We could really use a used vacuum cleaner salesperson.  That would really round out the team perfectly.  Or a pilot.  That would be really good, too.

LOL so noted Hal Bakerson :)  I have to say those kinds of players, the ones that think they carry everything with them and never take their armour off bother me too.  In the two D and D games I run I use encumbrance rules to ensure they cannot carry everything and I make them detail where they put what they do and do not carry.  I also enforce the, wearing armour at night does not make for a restful (healing)night's rest.

So far I don't have any difficulties with that now :)  Damn, why didn't I think of a used vacuum cleaner salesperson lol.  That's a character I'd actually play :)  Pilot might be a good idea too, you should ask the cook if he can recommend one :P
