Just a shout out to those I know, if you'd have the time to start up a Dragonborn game let me know.  I've been told some stuff about them and it sounds like something I'd like to get in on!

Raikoo's looking into Dragonborn, their recent Drawings, and my looking into Warden stuff again makes me want to use Warden Rhagar for something <.<

Re: OOC

The earthstrength Warden has a nice build to it, you become a defender/controller ... i built a Minotaur Warden once, and had a real fun time with him (craghammer & shield). Used charge alot, and so picked up the Horned Helm to add to my charge dmg.

Although if i were to play a dragonborn pc, I think i'd go with dragonblooded sorcerer (cliche I know, but i'd bump-up my racial feats, to enhance my breath weapon)

Not like we haven't done two defenders in a group before. Adam and Matt. Dido and Kitau. Etc... Now it'll be Rhagar and Sora.

Re: OOC

Revenge Of Rhagar can wait for wide open opportunity, he's a spur of the moment whim compared to a longer consideration of "Where could I fit Kyle that has mechanics?".

The two only potential "With Mechanics" (as in, the Two Out Of Three DnD threads I'm actually IN bother with Mechanics) spots for Kyle are also ones that could be highly inconvenient for Chris.

Adding Kyle to Ascension would bring party size back up to 6, and Chris mentioned wanting to focus on non-mechanics RP there (Which I am perfectly fine with, that crew has way more encounters under it's belt to reach level 5 compared to Thunderspire).  Adding Kyle to Thunderspire at some point would also skew the "Chris just got they party back to 5 people size", and I'm not sure why but for some reason he doesn't feel like as neat a fit there.  I guess compared to Ter+Bird's personality he'd feel like an extra compared to a character?

No way I'd be shelving either Matt or Terdisas anyways, and I'd never want people to drop their own "already had them" alts just to make room within a party size goal.  Basically it's a case of wanting to dust off a character who didn't get far, but not at the cost of inconveniencing others.

For example, if it was a choice of a Dragonborn thread getting started up again (Koo mentioned Dragoborny desires well before I brought up Kyle thing), or using kyle somewhere, totally Dragonborns preffered.

Re: OOC

(10:56:41 PM) Mittens: you know what?  i think it'd be fun to play 4e mechanics in pathfinder's world
(10:58:04 PM) Joe: if only to make people cry/cause a huge paradox of people being unable to decide if they should scream "You can't roleplay in 4th ed!" or "You're only able to roleplay with 4th ed because you're using pathfinder!"
(10:58:58 PM) Mittens: heh
(10:59:11 PM) Joe: poor 4th's world settings "We're trying not to make things too specific, so GMs can fill in the blanks and do what they would like with the setting."

GMS:  aaaargh! how can I roleplay without you telling me what to do!?
(10:59:28 PM) Mittens: (me, anyway)
(10:59:56 PM) Joe: difference between "setting" and "module", usually
(11:00:43 PM) Joe: for example, not much really setting specific about shadowfell keep.  beyond extreme things like "Well it's clearly not Dark sun"
(11:00:56 PM) Mittens: for the sake of playing kyle would you be willing to pick a module?
(11:01:19 PM) Joe: I'd be picking one at random, so in that event I'd say use the one that would drive you the least crazy
(11:02:01 PM) Joe: my desire to use Kyle for something has also a hefty dose of "I would also like to not drive people insane, again"
(11:08:47 PM) Mittens: here's the adventure paths: http://www.pathfinderwiki.com/...inder_Adventure_Path
(11:10:03 PM) Mittens: and the modules: http://www.pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Pathfinder_Module
(11:10:20 PM) Mittens: the 2 adventure paths i'm familiar with are kingmaker and jade reagent
(11:11:46 PM) Mittens: jade reagent is about going to the orient.
(11:11:55 PM) Mittens: kingmaker is about building a kingdom from scratch
(11:12:04 PM) Mittens: (one of the pc's winds up king/queen)
(11:12:56 PM) Joe: that much I knew at least.  Jade as interesting as it could be I'll leave to your sunday games cause you JUST started the thing over there, so I'd want you to keep it as shiny as possible for Pan and background extras.
(11:13:50 PM) Mittens: :)
(11:13:58 PM) Mittens: tim complimented my rping of lee
(11:14:06 PM) Joe: yays
(11:14:55 PM) Joe: *starts skimming adventure path opening blurbs*
"Second darkness has lots of DrowOHMYGODIMONFIRE, how is that possible Im a wiki article?"
(11:15:49 PM) Joe: legacy of fire apparennyly is piles of Genies, though Parrisa would be difficult at best to translate to 4th ed I suspect.
(11:16:43 PM) Joe: Council Of Thieves: You will face tons of Devils and hellknights, and "At least a handful of thieves"
(11:19:02 PM) Mittens: XD
(11:29:08 PM) Joe: honestly I cant decide.  (well, aside from screw Drow Centric one because that sounds like a hassle).

Legacy Of Fire: Genies and stuff.  Setting wise looks interesting.
Serpent's Skull: Jungle exploring and WHY SO MANY SNAKES?!
Skull & Shackles: How To Become Pirate Lord.

Rise of the runelords: how much do we trust "The first adventure path they made?"
Curse of the crimson throne: Oh god you guys could you stop rioting and suffering zombie plagues for like, two seconds?

(11:29:45 PM) Joe: and kingmaker seems to SPOILERS (spoilers removed)
(11:30:41 PM) Mittens: heh.  i'm familiar with some of kingmaker's spoilers
(11:32:18 PM) Joe: id expect as much with you running the thing, but yeah.  in the end, do kingmaker if that's most convenient for you.  Legacy of fire if Tim thinks he could play something he'd enjoy in 4th ed for the arabian setting, Skull if you want a diffrent kind of "kingdom" to build.

and serpent fang if you hate us all
(11:33:02 PM) Joe: though with the naval battles implied, I suspect skull would be more reliant/expectant of PC wizards having "sink entire enemy fleet with one spell" pathfinder options

Joe Edit: Gave this an editing pass to replace the specific messenger names, cause technically public board even if we all know eachothers things anyways.  Thanks Office's Find/Replace option.

My main preferences lean towards "Would Chris not be driven insane and would everyone else involved enjoy it?".  so if there's an adventure deal any of you know of you wanted a chance to try, there you go then.

Re: OOC

I was GUSHING and DROOLING over "Skull & Shackles" and "Legacy of Fire", but I vote for Legacy of Fire for a number of reasons:

1) Skull & Shackles was something Salow wanted to run anyway, so I'll keep that open for him to run when and if he gets the module stuff.

2) I have many reasons to looooove the "arabian" setting. Not the least of which is my fond childhood memories of playing Quest for Glory II.

3) It was mentioned Skull & Shackles is built around the Pathfinder mechanic, so for our sanity in the case of game mechanics, it would be better for Chris to run Legacy of Fire since Chris prefers running 4e and Legacy can easily be used for 4e mechanics compared to Skull & Shackles.

4) Due to the arabian theme, I have a character right off the bat who I'd enjoy playing in that setting and who happens to be one of my personal fave characters: Emerald. (Skull & Shackles DEMANDS Angel. XD So if Salow ever runs that one, that's who I'll play) Granted: Council of Thieves would make for GREAT backstory material for Emerald. But I'd probably want to go by Pathfinder mechanic for that one.

So yeah... Legacy of Fire.

Re: OOC

Perhaps before combat begins, once initiatives rolled, we can make a post with the initiative order ... then, as goons are eliminated from the encounter, the initiative tracker needs to be updated.

If we're looking for something in Roll20 ... perhaps there's a way to get a deck of cards?

Re: OOC

I've backtracked some notes and sheets from Seth's Dark Sun game. The majority of the writing (like on hand Sharmind details already typed up) was still already done.  So even though I had to carve out the extra DS specific house rules stuff I finished up in ten minutes, tops.

Conversion to a Human if Chris decides on that over Shardmind would be very easy to do (for me), but Chris would have to decide on their spare At-Will, skill changes, and extra feat in that case.  Chris said they still had to decide if they were going Human or Shardmind, after all.  Considering the current IC post and image links, good thing it's an easy conversion then ;D

I also learned things like "I forgot to type up Rebuke Undead for old sheet", I'll blame that on the hybrid to non hybrid conversions? Let me know if you want a complete overhaul beyond just going human.

You can tell Asuna is a very skilled archer, because she has never accidentally sliced her bow string with their arm.

I suspect Kyle will be the most boring of the party, but then from what use he's seen Straight Man seems to be what he was shaping up to anyways.  Hello people I've merely heard about, welcome board.

Re: OOC

Had a dream today that Tim and I were enjoying a D&D adventure on RPOL together with Joe, but Joe's character got critted.  To show his annoyance, Joe posted an ANSI art picture oh his character Alloy Archmage stepping out of a mecha cockpit and pointing a crossbow at me.  (If you don't remember what ANSI art is, here's an example: http://www.penguinpetes.com/im...BBS_art/ANSI/Bob.jpg )

"Wow.  I'm both impressed with Joe's art skill and that he would go to this much effort over a crit."

Well later we visited his house and he showed us that a cousin of his had turned the image into a back-lit resin statue.  Imagine a 3D version of these:

http://www.parallax.com/Portal...rt/20GOTO10-05-L.jpg
http://stevecochrane.com/img/2008/01/ansi-art3.jpg

"It's just something he does," Joe said.

Well turns out Joe was Chinese decent and had Asian neighbors who had built a 9' tall wooden mecha suit.

"Why wood?"

"You try and build something like this with expensive materials.  Well wood is much cheaper and easier to work with, and it still walks."

Wish I had more dreams like this one.

Fortunately antivirus caught it, but still.  This of course isn't a good thing for you though.

Re: OOC

Venting about elsegame.  Uuuuuuuugh.  I think that last insane "forcibly add 12 people to her new game, and not remove us till threatened to be reported" X-men game GM just joined Giant Comics new beginnings.  If throwing around the terms Nightmare and anomaly like they loved to, comparing themselves to better than a Super Saiyan, being The Best, and their opening post being, oh, DESTROYING A TOWN are any indication.

Edited in a PM lined a to GM heads up on my suspicions and past history "If that Character's Player name is 2kReturner", but, yeah.  considering they have completely missed my PM lines to them before, I got to wonder if the GMs will even notice first, and if things will be any amount sane second.

I also got the answer to the unasked question, "Will the Giant Comics people let you have whatever character you want?".  Teleporting Telepathic Telekinetic energy being with time manipulation and casual "Cosmic manipulation".  Link to their cast click for the morbidly curious.

Re: OOC

Been meaning to do GBUs (Goods, bads, uglies) for Legacy of Fire for that last chapter.  Because Joe isn't comfortable with attaching game benefits to player cudos, I'll simply handwave that everyone gets an Ugly for the last chapter and can use it at any time to reroll any dice roll, (including forcing the DM to reroll a monster attack), or add a +4 bonus to one d20 roll.  Player uglies granted to fellow players will only be praise and will not carry any game benefit.

I'll get us started:
Good: I didn't have to spend lots of effort on map building!  Yaay!  Thank you, Tym for clearing a path through the cacti so the other players wouldn't have to fuss with the skill checks.  And so I didn't have to fuss with making a map.  Thank you, Kyle for killing the little monster.  Kudos to Omira for re-writing her post to keep with the game theme.  And I found Emerald's gawking over the gold reward cute.

Bad: Things making this thread move slow.  But that's typical.  Oh well.  Also, running a Pathfinder module using 4e mechanics is proving more effort than I thought.  Oh well.

Ugly: As mentioned, everyone gets one.

Re: OOC

Good: 4th edition in Pathfinder setting is a daring task and I knew it would provide problems both foreseen and unforeseen. So kudos for taking it on. Also, visuals. Thank you for providing links and such. Those will make a huge difference overall. That said...

Bad: Photobucket. If a link leads me to photobucket, it takes a jig to view the image. I have scriptblocker on firefox. I tried allowing photobucket, that didn't work. Tried allow all this page (Which I don't like having to do in the first place since that can screw up dozens of other tabs), that didn't work. Closed it, re-opened it, and finally the picture shows up. Next step was going to be using IE. :\

Ugly: I'll give kudos to Tym for being an intimidating rock-monster in general. And as always, it does show that Omira's player is more concerned about everyone having fun. Kyle is always fun to play with, but overkilling with acid was fun.

Speaking of, for those who didn't catch the reference, Emerald saying "There is no overkill. Only kill or no kill." was a line from an episode of an old 80's cartoon called Inhumanoids. :) But it happened to fit.

As a side note, Sahba was a fun character while he lasted... >.> But sadly, he left. If Salow ever comes back to the world of gaming, I'm going to drag him back to playing Sahba to see how that goes. I saw lots of potential there.

Re: OOC

Good:  Nthing the brave efforts of Chris having to convert things from one system to another (which is at least 80% my fault for my familiarity with 4th and having forgotten how to play 3.5 pretty much entirely).

Bad: As convenient as it was against an annoying enemy (Omira would have done just fine if not for the force Re-Rolls), I feel slightly like I caused an anti-climax for the rest of the party last fight.  Not bad enough to regret nobody getting hurt beyond Tym braving pointy plants for us.

Ugly: I keep taking this part literally and forgetting it actually means good things to you guys.  Tym willingly taking a facefull of HP loss for the sake of the party not needing to deal with enough more dice rolls than several character creations was nice of him.
