Oh no, Joe's fragile DPS hitponts! This is why he hides behind the brave women and tiny angel men-Wait Joe, why are you stabbing it with a Carikal before shifting halfway across the room?  You're supposed to scream for the healer.  You didn't even manage to finish off the lemure.

"If you have to suplex Mittens, land them on top of the bad guy if you can."

Erylium was defeated by the body-slam.  Mits charges Mishann.  Lemur 1 charges Mittens.  Lemur 2 moans from Joe and shuffles toward him like a fast zombie, but Nathan picks it off before it can get to him.  "Heals forthcoming!"

"The main villain's done for! Still, be careful, everyone!"

Seeing the main villain felled means Mishann can devote her attention wholly to Mittens! So when Mittens charges Mishann, the half-dragon goes for a hug and a cradle, stares her directly in the eyes with a pleading look and says, "I love you, Mittens..."

And to demonstrate this further, she uses herself to shield Mittens from Lemure 1.

  "Thanks Nathan, brave ladies first." He says, as gets back to prone spam shots the likes of which have not been seen since an assault rifle strapped to a shotgun strapped to a grenade launcher strapped to a flamethrower.

Joe's limit break vaporizes the last remaining enemy!

Mits struggles a bit but then locks eyes with Mishann.  Her struggles cease, and she drops her sword, eyes softening, before getting helpless looking.  Then Mittens starts flailing about for a different reason!

"So cuuuute!  Aaargh!  Too much for brain to handle!"

Nathan chuckles.  He gets to healing people up.

  "This is a much preferable Mittens flip out.  Now bat your eyelashes at her and she'll melt-wait, too far."

  At health bars going up instead of down, he nods to Nathan.  "Thanks."

Mishann blushes, but does as Joe suggest and bats her eyes at Mittens. Then gently lets go of the kitty. "Thanks, Nathan. And thanks, Mittens..."

"Aaaeeee!"

Smoke shoots out Mits ears as she staggers around with the high whistle of a tea kettle coming from them.  She collapses and plays dead.  Pyrus reappears and goes to lick her face, forcing her to cringe and giggle.

Nathan fancy-bows.  "You're welcome."

  Professionals!  At least, the leading expert on professional mercenaries would give it a pass.

  "Right, now let's drag the sorry jerk to at least another room far away from the evil water."

Mishann says, "Sure." and begins dragging as asked. "I remember being blindingly angry... do you, Mittens?"

Moving from B13 to the previous room...

B12. shrine to lamashtu
The tunnel widens here into what appears to have once been a small shrine,
for to the northeast steps lead up to a platform of gray stone. sitting atop
the platform is an ancient altar, little more than a jagged block of black
marble with a shallow concavity on top of it. This basin is filled with what
appears to be filthy water.

  Joe comments "I'm glad you seem to be okay after the fact, at least." as they head on over, and adds "So if asking them the same question three times in a row but slightly slower each time doesn't work.  How are we figuring on getting answers.  Humiliating puppet show and count on their desire to correct Mittens to fill in the blanks?"

Mits blushes, rubbing behind her head.  "Yeah.  Especially when evil-face badmouthed adventurers."

Nathan looks confused for a second, "Wait, you think she...  Right.  She said some stupid things."

He decides against clarifying that was Joe manipulating her.  Not that Mittens would mind if she knew.  Pyrus seems to be avoiding the quazit, pinching his nose.  Indeed, her mouth is very stinky.

Terrible Breath: something inside of Erylium is rotten, and it makes
itself known every time she speaks. she suffers a –2 penalty on
Bluff and Diplomacy checks, but may belch a hideous wad of
phlegm once per day as detailed under Hideous spittle.

Hideous Spittle (Ex) Once per day, Erylium can belch a wad of foul
phlegm at any living target within 20 feet as a +11 ranged touch
attack. if she hits, the creature must make a Dc 12 Fortitude save or
be nauseated for 1d4 rounds. The save Dc is constitution-based.

In reply to Joe (msg # 301):

Mits shrugs.  "What would we ask?  'What's the pool for?  Demon baths?'"

Nathan folds his arms.  "I'm for just killing her."

Mishann nods to Mittens. "Yeah. Big mistake on the villain's part." And it is a huge relief to Mishann that whatever excuse Mittens found in her mind to be angry at Mishann enough to attack her, it was overcome by love. <3 "Good job everyone."

Mishann stares at Joe. "...that's... actually pretty smart. Forcing the enemy to correct us by filling in the blanks. Most villains can't resist revealing their evil plan *normally* and most normal people can't resist correcting you when you make fun of them. But combine the two and you may as well have mind control!"

Although she did stop hugging Mittens, she decides to keep an arm around the kitty for now. Mishann then looks at Pyrus. "You OK, buddy?"

  Joe knows that a successful cynical loner not only skips the whole loner part, but makes sure to get practical mileage out of being jaded.

  If Batman spent all his time crying his parents where deaaaaaaaad he'd get nothing done either.

  "While I can't blame Nathan's temptation, we might as well try first."

Pyrus smiles and nods to Mishann.

Erylium is awakened!

Mits explains, "Nathan here just wants to kill you.  But my other friends and I wanted to question you, so you've been spared."

She makes with the mocking puppet.  "How dare you intrude upon Mommy’s sanctum!?"

"Who's 'Mommy?'"

The angry mini-demon curses and struggles against her bonds.  "Wouldn't you like to know!"

Mishann says, "I'm guessing she means the one who's statue we saw that was conspicuously missing a name to go with the statue. She doesn't want anyone to know who this forgotten individual that nobody has even remotely heard of is."

She looks at Erylium. "I guess you hate your mom. Not that I'm surprised."

  "Normally people deface the statue itself so it's no longer recognizable, but I guess they were too samey they just stuck with the nameplate, yeah."

Erylium narrows her eyes.

"Yes of course I hate her!  I've been trapped down here for centuries!  Wouldn't you?  The name of the statue person is Alaznist.  Now if you're just going to kill me, why should I bother answering any more questions?"

Mits hrms and can't think of an answer.

Mishann says, "Because revenge. If you hate her so much, then if she is the cause of the recent issues, your answers will help us thwart her latest machinations."

   Joe nods in agreement with Mishann. "Spite is responsible for at least half the world saving, people don't like to say so because it sounds less heroic.  But you can have petty and noble reasons at the same time, multitasking isn't hard.  Now tell us more so we can punch the lady you hate harder than you ever can or will"

Nathan skews his lips.  "Can we kill her now?"

Mits shrugs.  "Sorry I'm not being helpful.  I'm drawing a blank."

Mishann sighs. "Bluh. Dead end. Go for it, Nathan."

  "Well, we totally would have said how much you didn't like her if she was still alive to punch. For what little that is worth."
