Re: Pokémon: Hot Summer Day

Azure looks about and hrms. Air hockey looks fun and all, but there just isn't enough standing surface. Azure spots an arcade racing game that has all the controls on the steering wheel itself. "Oh! That one!"

A few people start to notice there is a talking glaceon and double-take.

Kallan nods, "Allright."  Once they bring the pokemon of honor over, he goes to get tokens from the Convert Your Money Into Useless Tokens to Play Our Games With! machine.  He notices some people starting to note the talking Glaceon and grins, "Prototype Pokemon language translator.  Pretty cool stuff, huh?"

"For our next bit of research, testing of common Evee evolutions make better drivers than people.  We couldn't get funding for a real car and the bumper cars line was too long."  Joe, not a good scientist.  So good thing he isn't really one.

Re: Pokémon: Hot Summer Day

Azure gets at the wheel and begins playing! A small crowd gathers to watch. Not only can Azure talk, but they haven't really seen people play a racing game against a pokémon before. Azure is doing about as well as a decent beginner might. Though not having hands seems to occasionally pose a problem, she compensates well.

Re: Pokémon: Hot Summer Day

Kallan watches curiously, almost feeling bad for the person Azure's playing against.  On one hand you don't want to lose to a pokemon, on the other hand you don't want to win and risk the cute pokemon to start crying.  "HEy you're doing pretty good there Azure."  Thank you Captain Obvious.

If Joe were playing, he would employ the manly way to lose a racing game.  As large and wondrous an explosion filled crash as possible.  Repeat as needed.  "Clearly, these game's selection of auto or manual transmission had pokemon in mind.  Or, maybe just tradition."

Re: Pokémon: Hot Summer Day

Azure comes in 5th place and cheers! "I finished the race!" apparently that was all she wanted to do. "That was fun!" she jumps her two new human friends and goes from one to the other, licking them.

Re: Pokémon: Hot Summer Day

Really 5th isn't /that/ bad either concidering there's usually what 10-20 racers total between NPCs and Players.

KAllan chuckles at the licks and gives Azure a gentle rub to the ears.  "You did great!  I think the first time I played a racing game I kept going off the track so much I barely finished at all."

As one of the great Internet trends has stated, Game Over YEEEEEEAH!

Joe is also thusly licked by short cold and adorable.  "I can't decide if there are not enough ramps in that game or not."

Kallan chuckles a little.  How can you say no to a little cutie like her?  "Sure thing.  Got a flavor in mind you want to try?"  Azure's right, it's not hot in here at all, actually rather nice compared to outside, even for a normie human like him.

"I'm not sure about her, but I'm getting Oreo because cookies in your ice cream is usualy a good thing."  He considers Azure for a moment, then says "Or would you prefer a shake since those tend to come with straws?"

Getting a cone for Azure meanwhile, would just be asking for tragedy.

Azure squirms happily in the arms of whoever happens to be holding her at the moment. "Milkshake! And I think an oreo shake sounds nice! Thank you!"

Re: Pokémon: Hot Summer Day

Joe nod nods, Kallan's player can deal with the carrying and Joe can buy the shake, or the other way around depending on what Kallan's player prefers.  "Just watch the cookie chunks getting stuck in the straw, and you should be fine."

Speakin of delicious, he asks Kallan "You want anything while we're at it?"  Joe will place the order once confirmed.

Re: Pokémon: Hot Summer Day

KAllan would totally want to be carrying Azure, but maybe Joe is.  Eitherway, one of them gets the joy of a happy glaceon in their arms.

"Sure about that?  I hear they have good birthday cake icecream here."  Which is pretty good actually, rivaling good ol cookies an cream and chocolate chip cookie dough.  Yum!

Azure doesn't know what to go with now. Oreo shake is so yay, but birthday cake sounds just as good! "I could go for that... might be easier on the straw."

Re: Pokémon: Hot Summer Day

Joe somehow thinks that little bits of oreo would still be easier to get through the straw than chunks of cake... But, it's the little chilly critters call there.  As suggested by his last post, Joe places the order now that flavors are decided.  Getting an Oreo shake of his own in the process.

And whatever it is that Kallen wanted for himself.

Re: Pokémon: Hot Summer Day

Thing of it is, birthday batter / birthday cake ice cream doesn't have chunks at all and is always creamy. At least in the player's past half-dozen times having those flavors.

Azure gladly sips at a shake while people crowd around and ask about the technology. They ask other things too, like what do Pokémon think of fights, why do they try to hurt people who try to catch them, and other semi-stupid yet not questions.

Azure says, "I don't mind fighting. But I thought the point of fighting is to defend yourself. So the pokémon who attack people probably feel they need to defend themselves."

Re: Pokémon: Hot Summer Day

Joe's player frequently goes nuts trying to remember where he heard, and how valid 'Pokemon attack random people hoping to find someone badass enough to train them into badassness' is as a reason.

Though Joe's still pretty sure some of them are just assholes when it comes to attacking, just like people.

"On another subject, what were you up to before you ended up exhausted at the beach?"

Re: Pokémon: Hot Summer Day

Kallan has had B-Day cacke icecream with actual cake chunks in it.  Good stuff.  But the creamy version's good too!  He grins and slides the dish of icecreamy goodness so if the Glaceon wants some, she can try the hot fudgey awesomeness.  "Hmm chocolate isn't bad for pokemon right?  Atleast most pokemon seem to like it."  Someday he'll be a trainer, and learn all sorts of battlely stuff, if his pokemon feel up to battling.  Hanging out and playing games is just as good of a fun time if not better.

Azure answers Joe, "I was looking for a cool place... or you mean before that. Um... I was foraging for food. Before that, I was exploring town. Not much really. I mean, I wanna make friends, but I've been cautious about not getting caught. Once in a while, I'm tempted to be caught on purpose just to befriend a human. But most of 'em just wanna have me in some ball. I can't hang out or have fun times with people if I'm sitting in a ball doing nothing."

"Yeah, for the most part I've been kinda hazy on the whole ball thing."  There to save animators effort and games programming space?  Of course, a rampaging Gyrados isn't something you can just get to sit in a corner either.

"I suppose it says something about my general trustworthiness that you weren't worried about the fact the cooler has a lid on it then."

Re: Pokémon: Hot Summer Day

Kallan hmms softly.  "Azure.."  he pauses a moment, not quite sure how to put this, worried about potentially offending the glaceon, or upsetting her.  "If you're worried about others trying to catch you, I do have a pokeball. Well it's my only one.. never used it.  Anyway.  If you're okay with it, you could use it to be.. captured, so you wouldn't have to worry about anyone else trying to do it to you.  I'm no trainer or anything like that, and I couldn't imagine what it must be like being all cooped up inside such a tiny device.  In otherwords, I wouldn't try to force you to battle, neither would I try to keep you inside the ball, unless it was meant to save your life."  You never know what kind of crazies are roaming out there.

"I think you're a great person Azure, and I know I'd enjoy hanging out with you for as long as you wanted to hang around a science dork like me.  There's no rush, no need to say one way or another if you're comfortable with this.  And I'll understand no matter what you decide on."

Re: Pokémon: Hot Summer Day

"I'm not exactly trainer material either, beyond the paperwork formalities.  But you don't actually need a ball to do what your asking.  Unless I've been doing it wrong the past couple times and everyone else is just too stupid to debate the end result."
