Heroes Guild Log 22.5

Lucky is seated at a table of our favorite gathering place of heroes surrounded by piles of sealed and addressed envelopes.  He dips his pen into a well of ink and makes a checkmark on a sheet of paper before beginning to write on a blank envelope.

Re: Heroes Guild Log 22.5

Superbird is perched on a chair across from Lucky (because perching on the table could mess up the letter process).  "Tweet, all the common talk of animal messenger and sending stones and Cellular Phones and other fantastical means of communication.  But it's the postal service that gets the heavy jobs done, chirp."

As usual, the only 'paperwork' Terdisas is involved with would be reading a book while seated in a comfy chair.  "While not any good for mass lettering, I am surprised more Wizards and Mages do not use prestidigitation as a form of disappearing ink on legal documentation."

Re: Heroes Guild Log 22.5

Emerald was just walking in from the upstairs library when she hears Terdisas. "...." she immediately pulls out some parchment and a quill, jots something down and then blows on the parchment before returning both it and the quill to her backpack. "Well hello, you two. What's the news?"

Re: Heroes Guild Log 22.5

Lucky looks up from his work and smiles at the three.

"Much as I'm tempted to say, I think it'd probably be best if you were to read the letters addressed to you."

He slides a letter toward Emerald that has her name on it, then holds up another with Terdisas' name on it so he can see.

Said letters, when opened, are an invitation to an appreciation dinner for heroes who have helped the city - signed by Gale, assistant to the governor.

Re: Heroes Guild Log 22.5

Terdisas, you're giving the clever Fox clever ideas!... You did that on purpose, didn't you?

"Well, that is quite nice of Gale.  I assume you are helping Gale with the actual delivery of these letters considering you are the one stuck filling out the envelopes?"

He waves in greeting to the descending Emerald, "Hello Emerald.  As Lucky says, the news is in print."  Unless it's in cursive... or block... or this common phrase has some logic flaws in it when you stop to think about it.

Emerald checks the invitation. "Assistant to the governor, eh? Well she did strike me as more a paper pusher than a spell slinger." She hops onto the nearest chair to check the time/date she is to go meet. "Is this gonna be a one-on-one thing? A "few at a time" thing? Or a ball, with everyone there?"

Re: Heroes Guild Log 22.5

"She said, 'Come as you are, or as you'd like to be, either is fine,'" Lucky answers, "I plan to get cleaned up as best I can and come in my cleric gear.  There's about 70 invitations, but anybody's guess how many will show up.  So I dunno how big a deal it'll wind up being, I hear rumor that Gale's twisting the arm of a very very good cook to prep the meal.  Namely, Officer Bridget.  Also...  If you're feeling up to it...  I'm sure your music would add a lot of fun and class to the evening."

(( Exact date/time left intentionally vague.  Whenever ready, can timewarp to the dinner. ))

Re: Heroes Guild Log 22.5

One of the advantages to Terdisas's dress sense.  It means he is properly dressed for formal occasions by default.  Downside, the guy with the sky high steetwise skill (without even training it no less) tends to dress a bit better than Hive Of Scum And Villainy bar rate apparel.

"Hmm, every time I meet or even hear of Officer Bridget, more and more talents are revealed."  Well, aside from smiling.  But that might end up a case of 'Scary Batman Smile'

Speaking of Batman, ready for scene transition old batman spinning screen style!  Would we replace the bat symbol with a Dizzy Superbird ala Tiny Toons/Animaniacs gag?

Re: Heroes Guild Log 22.5

Scene transition is go! Emerald is dressed pretty. She is wearing a shoulderless top that looks like is hangs from her chest. Her entire backside exposed and the dress covering her feet so you can't even see them. The dress itself is a sparkling blue dress with gold embroidery of various fancy designs. She may not look like her class, but she does look like she HAS class. XD Sorry, couldn't resist.

(Meanwhile, Bridget's list of skills are odd indeed, but have been part of her since moments after she was first created for Faction. :) )

Re: Heroes Guild Log 22.5

Chain mail doesn't polish as well as plate, but a nice white tabbard with the symbol of a diety on it looks nice-ish.  Lucky gives a sweeping bow to Emerald.

"You look stunning, Emerald," he says, "I would be honored if you grace my table."

Guests are still arriving, all in different levels of formal, but it shows that even barbarian types who bothered to show up at least didn't arrive encrusted in adventure muck.  Gale is mingling with a group of guests who seem to be a scholarly bunch.

Re: Heroes Guild Log 22.5

The holy blingtastic Timothius Paladin drawing would indeed showcase how classy such things can look, yes.

Meanwhile, while his fashion sense is similar to normal, we are pretending Terdisas's budget for changes of clothes induced a change of clothes that are level range acceptable enchanted robes.  Superbird meanwhile has taken up the Hunting Hawk look, which is of course a socially acceptable bird for the lordly and boredly.  The sorcerer did not make them wear the stupid blinder hood because his familiar can refrain from finely trained bloodlust.  Nevermind that Superbird is physically incapable of inflicting harm, that still means less rampaging birds getting caught in people's hair.

"A shining example of dress sense and natural beauty... In hindsight, that was terrible and I am destined for pun hell, even if it is still true.  You clean up quite nicely yourself as well Lucky."
