"Thank you, Bejam.  I did not have simple convenience in mind, but I can understand the concern."

He looks to Mittens, "I should be able to manage alone, though that's is as much to do with my experience basically cheating with magical equipment as anything."  You used your daily item, now you have to wait until-what do you mean it's recharged!?

"Though just in case, we should take 10 minutes for a water breathing ritual before we go."  The constructs hold enough air for 3 hours.  Rolling a 1 will get the party water breathing for longer than that.

And if things go really, REALLY wrong on the way back?  Well, six minutes should be enough to make magical seahorse mounts for six people.

Timothius nods to Kyle. "Lemme know if I can help at all." then looks to Bejam. "Thank you again for all the provisions to get us there." he looks at his cleeted feet "And ability to walk decent."

Raichel nods and says, "We got the rest from here." she then looks at Kyle and says, "But let's do our best to make sure we don't have to use the weaponry in the first place."

May hangs her head. "Awww... well OK. But Kyle, you really should study these undersea vessels and see if you can't duplicate 'em!" She glomps Mittens. "Excitable, cheerful eccentric weirdo girls go in one vehicle! You pilot it, but I'm SO on the weaponry... you know. Just in case."

Re: Scales of War: The Temple Between pt.2
Unless the characters take their apparatuses to the
surface and explore the exterior, they end up spotting
the undersea entrance to Icehome, and they have to
fight their way past the arctic sahuagin that guard
this area.

You propel your craft through the depths, and a massive
shadow starts to take form in the water ahead. You see the
underbelly of a massive iceberg—you’ve just about reached
your destination.
Upon nearing the iceberg, you see a hole in it that
indicates an underwater tunnel. As you maneuver your
craft through the narrow passage in a single file, the tunnel
starts to climb. Eventually, a pale blue light surrounds you,
and you realize that you’re just about to surface. Chunks of
ice bob near your craft as you bring them up for air.

Have the players place three 2-by-2 markers down in
any open water spaces on the map to represent where
the apparatuses of Kwalish surface.

As you bring the craft to the surface, you see that you’re in
an ice cavern dotted with stalactites and snow. A number
of blue-skinned sahuagin appear more than happy to
greet you in the traditional customs of their people as they
threaten you with their weapons.

The PCs are still inside the apparatuses when combat
begins. It takes a minor action from one PC to open
the hatch for the vehicle. The PCs can stay inside the
craft and use its rending claws to attack the sahuagin,
but the sahuagin quickly figure out this tactic and
attempt to stay out of reach.

One of the sahuagin in the back shrieks and disappears around a corner at a full sprint.  Two sahuagin throw javelins at Kyle's sub, dealing a little damage!

Kyle considers the controls of this large crab robot... Then sighs, pops the hatch, and shoots a minion in the face with his Crossbow.

As an alchemist, Kyle is already familiar with the woes of Item Scaled Attacks.  But that doesn't make it any less of a letdown.

While he's at it, he yanks the sahuagin javelin that struck his construct from between the armor plates, and comments to May as she toughens her up "These are some impressive Javelins. Make sure to loot those May."

OOC: 2d6 Javelin is like, all kinds of good for all kinds of classes of all sizes.

Another enemy comes out from hiding, flanks May, and hits!  But doesn't hurt her at all thanks to Kyle's magic.

Mits hops out of the craft and swims ashore.

"Sounds like they don't speak Common.  Golden Crab Attack!"

Dozens of tiny glowing crabs fall from the ceiling, detonating on the enemy, downing two of them.  Some of the crabs don't explode and threaten the enemy with their pincers!

Another enemy climbs onto the iceberg.

"I can understand them, though." Timothius assures May and Mittens while hopping out of the Apparatus of Kwalish. He bursts with holy energy and turns his gaze to the group around May. "The fool left the safety of the machine... Legs will feast well tonight.  There's at least 2 more of them... and just now: Woah. So many animal people."

He lifts his hand and ALL the enemies around May get shackled by radiant shackles. "Love the lobsters, sis. Nice theme."

He looks at the enemies nearest to him. With authority and an eerily cold tone, Timothius says, <abyssal>"You are wrong. We are the ones who sent the giants fleeing. Forget Legs; We are here to fight Chillreaver."</abyssal>

To his team, Timothius sounds awfully creepy because he is speaking a demonic tongue.

Kyle looks at the Raider that stabbed him with light annoyance, judges the heft of the Sahuagin Javelin in his hand, then impales the Raider's weapon arm, two prongs of force causing a trident style wound.

"Good craftmanship, at least. Even if the wielders are lacking."
