Re: Scales of War: The Temple Between pt.2

Timothius is smiling serenely. "I want one..."

May nodnods. "BETTER than a Telicanthus Stained Glass window.... well OK, it's AS cool, but has a different allure to it."

Raichel mews. "A shame Telicanthus had to be evil. Like Timothius, I sure hoped he was an honest-to-goodness exception to the Githyanki."

May shrugs. "He isn't the only artisan in the world with his skill level. And he isn't the only Githyanki in all the planes. Somewhere out there, there is an exception to the rule. I just know it."

Raichel and Timothius smile at May and say in unison. "Thanks, May." then look at each other and giggle.

May takes off her armor, pulls out her bag of holding and dumps a pile of coin onto the floor. She lays her weapons around her coin pile in a circle, then curls up and lays on the coin pile. What? She wanted to try the "pile of gold for a bed" thing at least once. Its in her heritage.

Rai and Tim hug Kyle's sides goodnight and then do the same for May, then Mittens before dragging her off for a three-way cuddle.

The group wakes to fresh hotcakes Mits cooked over a skillet heated with prestidigitation.

And while she is at it she sings,

"It's a beautiful day outside.
birds are singing, flowers are blooming...
on days like these, dragons like you....

Should be burning in hell."

"It really is a bad time to be a Dragon, when we are around isn't it?" The party is racking up quite the bodycount when it comes to Dragons.  From undead, to mount, to singular or pairs.  Multiheaded is a new one though, few 'solo' Dragons under their belt yet

Raichel and Timothius pur in anticipation before they eat. Tim sings along with Mittens while the twins hug her sides.

May says, "Well... an EVIL dragon, anyway."

May noms. "Yum! Thanks for cookin', Mitts!"

The twin kittens and the half kobold/dragon weredrake have fun chatting at the table about how neat this place is, the yummy levels of the foods they have eaten, and what kind of meal they should celebrate with once they return to Nefelus.

She chuckles to herself and conjures a puppet that looks like her mom.

"'Oh my goodness, oh my gosh!  Mittens!  You cooked!  I'm so proud of you!'

"You should try my iced dragon flambe.

"But yeah!  Some deva cuisine will be interesting to try out."

In hindsight, Kyle completely forgot to loot Telicanthus's tea collection.

"Thank you, Mittens.  I'm sure a less reasonable sort would be grumbling about focusing on the fight ahead.  But I know we can all enjoy breakfast and consider our immediate future at the same time."

Timothius says, "What's to consider? We plan as we fight. That's how it always goes."

He mews longingly at the image of his mom.

Raichel says, "Well... we should at least plan how best to encourage the gargoyles to direct their ice tomb attack. I would be fine once since I could teleport out of it. But I wouldn't want you trapped in it, bro. And maybe our best bet is damage prevention."

May says, "I would be fine too. So basically, let me take point and buff me as much as possible, and hope none of them can get past me. In case they do, let's be sure the rest of you aren't far behind me. That way, those who get past me and use their ability, Raichel can turn into a lightning bolt and zap THROUGH them, forcing them to let go."

Mommy puppet becomes Mommy plushie and is handed over to Timo for cuddles.

"Sounds good to me.  By the way I got a good bit more powerful while we were resting.  I'm expecting to rip through these things like paper."

When the PCs arrive here from the ice bridge, read:
This room sits in stark contrast to everything you’ve seen
before in the iceberg complex. Here, it appears that the room
has been intricately carved from the ice; no snow, rough
patches, or uneven grades mar the smooth walls, floors, and
ceiling of this chamber.

Perfectly round ice columns frame a large-based
platform at the far end. On top of the platform are two
massive ice gargoyle statues. To either side of this platform
sit smaller ones with smaller ice gargoyles. There is no
visible exit from this room except where you entered.

<Primordial>"Ber-blah!"<Primordial>

Two of the gargoyles spring to life!

<Primordial>"Intruders!  Destroy them!"<Primordial>

"Wow.  Primordial.  I know this language!  I'll see if they'll be willing to chat."

<Primordial>"Good morning!  Erm, Afternoon... I think.  Great.  Going to have messed up sleep schedule now, aren't I?  Anyway!  Heroes of the Elsir Vale here!  Surrender or be defeated and humiliated!"<Primordial>

<Primordial>"I kill you!"<Primordial>

"Hmm.  Sounds like they're just interested in killing us.  Oh well."

"Hardly surprising, and yet all the more disappointing after meeting enemies who can take a hint."

Yes, fire is definitely going to be called for today. For once.  Surprisingly little is actually vulnerable to fire in this universe, even when it's ice themed.

It misses the gargoyl-oh wait no it hits a reaver in the back of the room right in the face, taking a chunk of icy jaw with it.

Encounters like this are when Kyle's player has zero problems being Standard Leader Damage.

He tosses a pacification dust at the not immediately doomed Gargoyle, half out of likely not being able to finish it off himself, half out of cruel spite.  Whooo Unaligned!

Re: Scales of War: The Temple Between pt.2

"AAAH!"

With no other options left, the last remaining viable opponent flies over to the illusory wall hiding the entrance to the Seed Chamber.

Illusory Sliding Wall: To the east, a wall has
been masked by an illusion. A character adjacent to
the wall who succeeds on a DC 15 passive Perception check notices that something is unusual about
the wall. Another DC 25 Perception check or DC 25
Arcana check pierces the illusion and reveals an intricate inscription in Draconic upon the wall.
The inscription reads,
“Pass through this portal and enter the presence of
Chillreaver, master of Icehome, greatest among the Dark
Queen’s frozen children. Prepare for supplication in the
proper manner, and you can enter his fearsome domain
and receive his cold gift.”

It kneels at the wall/door, and it slides open!

The gargoyle screams at the top of it's lungs, <Primordial>"MASTER!  VERY STRONG INTRUDERS!  ME LAST ONE LEFT!"<Primordial>

The low, reverberating rumble of a huge dragon can be heard echoing off the walls beyond.
