Mits heads over to her sibs and wiggles her fingers at Chillreaver, creating a smiling sun symbol below him.

"You may be interested to know that you are the fourth creature in this lair with the ability to speak Common.  Congratulations!  You're as well-spoken as a fish-man and a pair of pups!"

Chillreaver is livid!  And not just at Mittens either.

Raichel growls, hints of her burning voice in there. "YOU beg! Spare you or kill you, we will humiliate you. Beg we do not drag your living body for all to see your humiliation!"

Lightning starts zapping off her body at random, her hair rising some from the static electricity mixed in. One of the bolts zaps in front of Chillreaver. She walks in a pace-like manner, as if trying to burn off excess energy.

"Insolence!"

Chillreaver has a strong set of lungs, and two sets of vocal cords to go with them.

R O A R ! ! !

Most of the heroes are unaffected by his frightful presence.  For a moment both heads have tweetie birds circling them as a consequence for defying Timothius and attacking, but they shake it off.

"You think your feeble powers can stop my rage?!  Think again!"

While his reflex would have been to use sacred flame in hopes of freeing his pal from stunned, Timothius recognizes it will wear off anyway, so he steps forward with the plan he had in mind.

He ducks past an attack in order to get close enough to where Chillreaver feels peace washing over him. "It stopped your rage long enough. Now to demand your tribute."

He pulls out a coin purse and Chillreaver feels naked. "Your blood."

Timothius bursts with holy energy, causing Chillreaver to feel even more naked!

"Snap out of it, Kyle!"

Imp Mits vanishes.

"That wasn't me!" Mits lies, "I'd never smack a friend."

Kyle is a big boy with a positive con modifier, he can take it without crying.  Yes, good job Paragon Tier Hero, keeping a stoic face after being hit with a cartoon pillow.  Sam the Eagle would be proud.

"Thanks, I know I don't hit as hard as you but every bit helps when we need to shoot two faces." He backs up to be near both catgirls, and gives Chillefty a chin piercing courtesy of a crossbow bolt.   Mittens and Raichel feel the familiar *insert sensation of choice* of Artificer Energy.

The eye of Anticlimax is so amped up by Timothius's power that it fires off glowing sigils along with it's dissapointed looks.

"Nice comeback, May!  And Timo.  So proud!  Flowers!"

She sprinkles flower pedals on the dragon that poof into fragrant smatterings of pollen on impact.  Chillreaver roars and sneezes, eyes tearing up!

"Hah!  I made him cry!  Hmm.  I think I want to chase the two-head pun line of thinking that Kyle brought up...

"'Yeah, us giants don't trust Chillreaver.  He's two-faced!'"

Mits' words don't bother Chillreaver near as much as Timothius' ability to weaken him, and he inhales deeply.

"Ah.  Here comes the breath weapon.  Chillreaver is twice the windbag as other dragons.  He needs double the mint to freshen his breath."

Flap!  He flies over May and the others, passing MittenBAMF!  Mits thwacks him good with her staff with a flourish that would make Rai proud!

ROAR!  More icy breath!  No damage.

"IMPOSSIBLE!"

Claw, claw, chomp, chomp!  Kyle is barely scratched, and Mits is unharmed in spite of looking like she shoulda been bit in half.  Chillreaver roars in frustration, hovering 15' in the air!

The Eyeball Of Thesaurus Entry For Disappointment hovers back to the battle, as Kyle pulls out a packet of powder.

The huge dragon claws at the Artificier it dragged over specifically for Kyle's being the most easy to it target, and barley misses (this is what you get for trying to abuse reach radius).

Because as angry as Chillreaver is, even with two heads worth of anger?  Kyle is far more favored by SPITE.

He pitches hot cinnamon powder into the Dragon's face.  As in the actual confectionery ingredient, same difference in these circumstances really.

Re: Scales of War: The Temple Between pt.2

When Chillreaver realizes that he's going to be super humiliated to the point where his goddess will likely disown him, his jaws drop in horror.

Mits presses a button on her staff and it flips out a giant magical prong.  She then uses the prong to attach the smiling sun magic circle on the floor to make a huge weapon out of it!  The sun starts spinning rapidly, making a buzzsaw sound.  Mits then does an omnislash on the dragon with her makeshift weapon then lands with her back facing it.  Radiant beams shoot from several lines left in his hide, then KABOOM!  He falls to the ground unconscious, totally not cut into pieces.

Mits flips her weapon around and tries to sheath it on her back, but it's too big and she winds up dropping the weapon.

"WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!  We just slew a dragon exarch!  Oh yeah!  Wait....  The ceiling isn't collapsing...."

"Well, that's because the Artifact is in the next room.  It will likely collapse after that is dealt with, as far as I can tell."

He checks his crossbow, and adds "Oh right, mind control and immobilize powers.  Smashing all the mirrors will disable the thing as much as going to the drastic effort of trying to disarm it directly. So while it sits there, we should likely ensure Ularon and the Crabs are sorted for a quick escape.  If we used the teleport circle, it would be a faster exit than the recall scroll alone and could drag the dragon through with us."

May claps for the performance. "Where do you even get the ideas for these weapons, Mittens? You can make that weapon exist, right, Kyle?"

Timothius says, "That's Mittens for you. If it involves the silly, she can think it up."

To Kyle's comment, May says, "Draggin' a dragon. Sounds like a plan."

Raichel looks at Kyle. "When we get to the whole seed-grabbing, I can destroy the eastern mirrors, but I am unsure how to get the western ones."

Rai and May get to binding the dragon.

Mits grins proudly, blushing.  "Lotta times you are my inspiration, May.  I think 'em up to try and impress you.  So glad you like my ideas!

"...We defeated a dragon exaaaarch!"

When the group enters the room, no mind control.

A large shimmering white acorn floats on a pedestal high
above. Cold blue-white beams travel from 10 silver mirrors
positioned throughout the chamber to converge on the seed.

A harsh female voice, which leaves an echo reminiscent of tinkling glass, calls out.  "My former master has been defeated.  I am disappointed in Chillreaver.  You all are much more powerful.  So I am tasking you with taking me to the Winter Court of the Feywild.  I have chosen the one called Kyle to be the one who will carry me."

Mits head-tilts.  "Well this is a tad surprising."

He looks over to May, and sighs.  "Unfortunately, I think I can only make one that looks like it.  Mittens quality explosions would require waving Mittens on a pole."

Uuuugh, of course the Seed of Winter had to be a literal Seed.  Once again reminding us all of the true Evil, Nature.

"This is surprising, yes."  Why couldn't they be asking them to go visit the Prince Of Hearts instead? Their gnome bakers make the best cookies.  "We may be inclined to such a task, though we have other obligations to sort out first and foremost."

Raichel goes to high-five Mittens with a smile on her face. Her feral mode gone, looks like Rai is in a good mood now that evil is stomped and all that remains is taking everything home.

May says, "Awww... Well... looks like is still good!" She heads off with Rai to collect the Apparatuses of Kwalish. She will yoink Kyle along if he agrees, so that all three can be gotten in one trip.

May and Raichel are each parking an Apparatus of Kwalish in the room where the ritual will be performed.

Timothius points out, "Since the seed isn't attacking us, let's take these mirrors too. I'm sure Nefelus will be happy to have them back." He begins gathering the mirrors.

Timothius could take a couple guesses on why the seed chose Kyle, but why guess when he can ask? "Why Kyle in particular?" he asks out of curiosity.

The Seed answers, "Because he is the only one among you who can use all my powers."

Mits huhs.  "Being a May weapon would be an honor!  But very dizzying, I would imagine.  My head would spin from the first time she pulled me out that lightning fast way she does.  If not for that, I could see wanting to be wielded by the one most suited to make use of my power.  I have an idea!  We could return home in styyyle!  Hey Seed!  Can you make a wind blow in a direction Kyle chooses?"

"With my mirrors, yes."

Mittens grins and suggests re-shaping the seed chamber into a sail-boat.  And keel-hauling the dragon to boot.

Regardless of how, the group gets everything safely back to Nefelus!  People are gawking and cheering at the return of the victorious heroes!

May is sure to ride on top of the glacier so as to wave a flag and let the Nefelese know the heroes are coming and victorious. She thrusts her fist in the air, letting out a primal yell. "YEAAAAH! EXARCH OF TIAMAT DEFEATED!" flag-wave, rinse, repeat.

Timothius is there for Uarion as well and assures him that the seed has been retrieved and Chillreaver captured. He is sure to use his sizable CHA and WIS combo to say the right thing or be quiet as is appropriate.

Raichel meditates. Once the group arrives at Nefelus, Raichel keeps to her promise and wakes the dragon so it can see itself being dragged amidst the people it sought to oppress. At the top of her lungs, she yells "We caught the exarch ALIVE! All of you will have your chance to get a hit off this oppressor! And the families of the scouts will have their chance to judge him directly!" With its jaws bound shut and heads bound together, there is nothing the dragon can do but suffer through its humiliation.

Raichel has not forgotten about the Behir, but his punishment will come later.

Re: Scales of War: The Temple Between pt.2

With the defeat of Chillreaver and the destruction of his
iceberg lair, the weather begins to warm. As you approach
the island nation, the icy ring has already begun to crack
and break into swiftly melting floes of ice.

The Seed did not approve of releasing Ularaon from mind control, throwing a little hissy fit about how the weak are meant to serve the strong blah blah blah.  Ularaon is of course very happy to be released from mind control, thankful, and apologetic.

"I really appreciate that you don't hold it against me that I was unable to resist the mind control and wound up being used to attack you.  What a horrible experience that was."

"No worries.  We've encountered the like before." Mits assures.

Even bound, no one has the courage to walk up to Chillreaver much less punch him.  The people are happy to cheer from a distance.

After the PCs dock their vessel, they are taken back
to the Great Library to meet once again with Amyria
and Bejam.
