Re: Scales of War: EPIC!
Timothius and Raichel change back.
Raichel says, "We can at least trust that they will, for the most part, follow the path that leads to their best interests. Just like with Kada'ne helping us and proving his worth as an ally multiple times. His help, in no small way, contributed to the downfall of Zetch'r'r."
Timothius thinks aloud, "We also have the truth about Vlaakith; that she is, in fact, Gith. I don't know how important that will be to keep secret in the near future. But it gives us a huge advantage. Gith knows we can tell her people who she really is. And once that information becomes obsolete, her people will know they were betrayed. They will know the sting of betrayal and it may stay their desire to betray, lest they be compared to Tiamat or Zetch'r'r. But even if what I just said is just optimism at best, I doubt we have much choice anyway."
May says, "I'm sure the Githzerai are even less excited. Ironic as it sounds, they were more of a target to the Githyanki than we ever were, and they are being asked to both set aside old grudges and try to trust enough to build relations."
Timothius says, "To Gith, the githzerai are just as much her people as the githyanki. She is from an ancient time when the two people were one. So in her case, I don't doubt her sincerity there... but it doesn't change the fact the githzerai are, in fact, being asked to make larger leaps of faith than us."
Raichel looks at Kalad. "Hey, Kalad. Remember. Subtlety? Subterfuge? Direct? In the end, none of it mattered. We punched the enemy until they either stopped moving or submitted."
