Re: Character and group planning

Considering a druid of neutral to good alignment.

Unrelated note, anyone familiar with rules for making gear from uncommon materials?  Armor or weapons of stone or wood, etc?

Re: Character and group planning

Looking at trying a human cleric, haven't decided on domains or alignment yet.  Wanting to take the healing domain to keep everyone alive at the very least, maybe Magic or fire as well.

This is a better place for this conversation. What is the item your trying to make? being a merchant character player I had to brush up on building nonstandard items a long time ago.

Re: Character and group planning

A sword made of stone or "obsidian" (someone had suggested it).  I don't even know if it would actually change the rules for it aside from its cost.  I had just considered taking a greatclub and describing it like a big stone "blade".  I don't know though.

So Player 4, any interest in being of the same party?  Elves just make me instantly think of "nature friendly" race.  Perhaps we could work out some kind of background connection.

Re: Character and group planning

Well her view on nature may be different than yours, she views it as a thing of beauty but also as a tool for which to make things easier for her and harder for her foes. She reveres nature to a degree, but not as much a nature loving character.

Re: Character and group planning

Odd, that last post I made was pose to be a PM to you O.o

quote:
Weapon and Armor Proficiency

Druids are proficient with the following weapons: club, dagger, dart, quarterstaff, scimitar, sickle, shortspear, sling, and spear. They are also proficient with all natural attacks (claw, bite, and so forth) of any form they assume with wild shape.

quote:
Scimitar:
Cost: 15GP
DMG:1d6
Crit: 18-20/×2

Special material: Bone and/or Stone
Items made of bone or stone have a -2 to attack and damage due to the weight and design.
Bone schimitar has a hardness of 6 and HP of 20
Obsidian has a hardness of 8 and 30 HP

a club would raise the HP vastly by at LEAST double.

Re: Character and group planning

I am not sure you nature types would consider me a natural lifeform, or an abberation that is unreal and an affront to nature...

Depends, how much of you is stone and how much is metal? Druids can be buddy buddy with elementals, why not you? how many druids even know what you are?

Re: Character and group planning

I really wouldnt be bothered by looks ^^ after all when scouting, you have to just take it all in and report back (if needed), your so focused on minor details you may just not care that the creature is warforged ^^.

Also she does feel comfortable in nature but equally as comfortable in cities, but preferably larger ones and ports as they are adventures unto themselves. Where she gets to observe a great deal of peoples comings and goings with a bit more of a relaxed outlook as cities are 'generally' less dangerous

Re: Character and group planning

There should probably be another thread for character creation mechanics.

At any rate, I will be playing a human male LG/NG wizard with an emphasis on summoning.

Re: Character and group planning

I think I'll fit in with any Good-aligned parties.  Planning on playing a Chaotic Good Battle Sorcerer.

Player 14, you're going to play a druid, right?  Wanna team up?  :p

Re: Character and group planning

Looks like we've got the magic stuff worked out. I'm up for a Changeling Rogue... although I've always wanted to play a Cleric. Some dirty part of me also wants to play a Kobold purely to guilt trip people.

I'm usually Chaotic and on the evil side of neutral, since my characters generally prioritise getting things done quickly instead of "correctly".

13, maybe you should consider playing as an Archivist?  They're like rogues and clerics, sort of.

Re: Character and group planning

I play rogues mainly for skill monkering, so I'd be more inclined to something like a bard. I've considered bards, but the only bard I've played thus far was a 'pixie' (Custom world, thus they weren't normal pixies) whose musical talent meant most songs went along the lines of "Girls are dumb, la la la la la". I feel the need, as a bard player, to actually compose things. Previous mentioned bard is a good example of my composition skills.

I'll wait a little and then decide randomly, probably by rolling a dice (multiple times so I get the choice I wanted)

Re: Character and group planning

I've already called archivist when I applied to the game, but I guess other groups can have archivists too (because I really hope we're not all going to be in the same group).

So, yeah, Sven Sharptooth, LN Kobold Archivist here. Description and pic is ready. Don't touch my books and we'll get along fine :)

Just a different kind of environment.  Different kind of animals, heheh.  My character is going to prefer being surrounded by nature, and cities are fine and dandy.  Hell, I imagine big cities would be more likely to have parks and such as well.

Anyway, its up to you if you are interested.  It looks like 8 and I might be forming up into one of the groups.
