Re: Character and group planning

As the primary casters seem well in hand, I am looking at a Shifter ranger or whisper gnome dragonfire adept.

Re: Character and group planning

Just a heads up, the final headcount looks to be 20 people. So I'll leave it up to you guys to decide if you want 3 large groups or 4 smaller ones.

This will be an adventure in GMing for sure :)

Re: Character and group planning

Sorcerer is what I was planning to build, but perhaps a rogue, as there is many casters here already.

Re: Character and group planning

My vote is for 4 smaller groups. And don't worry, with the player attrition on this site, you'll be consolidating us into 3 or even 2 groups soon enough. Heck, we'll probably lose 2 or 3 people before we even get out of character creation stage.

Re: Character and group planning

Well I'm planning on being an Elven Battle Sorcerer or Warforged Fighter depending on the outcome of the number of groups we'll be in; so we've got the following so far:

#1  TN Warforged Artificer
#3  Human Warlock
#4  TN Elven Scout
#5  NE/CE ??? Wizard
#8  CG Battle Sorcerer
#9  LG/LN Human Wizard
#10 LN Kobold Archivist
#11 Air goblin swordsage, N with L tendencies
#12 G? Human Cleric
#14 N/G ??? Druid
#16 NG Human Wizard
#20 Battle Sorcerer or Fighter

What is the difference between a Battle Sorcerer and a Warmage?

Re: Character and group planning

Group size doesn't really bother me much since attrition will take care of anything that gets too big. I think I am going to go with whisper gnome dragonfire adept.

I will be a CN Human Warlock. I really don't have a preference on which group I'm in

Re: Character and group planning

so how exactly are we dividing into say three groups. Obviously evil-good could be an option but still I find its often good to never give a party an alignment 'as a whole' unless its an evil one and for an evil based campaign or of course if a majority of evil concepts wouldn't work well with good ones etc.

Should we just flat out put group 1 group 2 group 3 and fill them up, seeing who has interest for them without label and go by composition?

(sorry just woke up so not sure if this makes sense)

Re: Character and group planning

I would say go with team balance. We have a lot of magic users and fewer melee, so put the melee in different groups and then the mages can filter in. Or we can have a mages group, a melee group, and a group with variety. I don't know just giving out some ideas

Re: Character and group planning

The concept of all the mages being in the same group terrifies and excites me at the same time.

I'm almost decided on what options I'm going to select from...

Re: Character and group planning

Or we can split it up by post rate. Though that may take a bit longer to figure out

Re: Character and group planning

I would recommend at least 1 melee/non-squishy character per party.

Re: Character and group planning

I for one, want a group with someone big enough for me to hide behind. Of course, a halfling is big enough for my purposes :)

Re: Character and group planning

I'm inclined to say at least one non squishy melee type person per party and preferably one skill monkey per party. Beyond that, just about any combination would work.

In reply to Player 1 (msg #50):

Party balance is pointless as the game isn't balanced. It's up to the DM and players to make their characters relevant. If all the players wanted to all play wizards I don't see why that can't be done.

Dibbs on the scout. She isn't a rogue but still has the chance to have enough skills for support.

That and rogues are... well rogues.

Re: Character and group planning

Can I join your group? Pretty please! I wont go all evily or anything

On a different note, how are the groups meeting? Is the game going to start with everyone knowing each other, ie you all start in a bar, or are we going to meet up as we travel and during plot points.
