*shrug*

I've tried to say all along that our best plan was just to run and hide.  We 100% CANNOT stop these guys from killing us if they choose to do so.  Which they would.

But I'll be completely honest - sometimes I feel a bit like I'm constantly being negative about our plans.  Like every time.  So I'm making a conscious effort and trying not to be that guy all the time. It's everybody else's game just as much as mine.

I've made my share of dumb decisions too, but I keep being the fun police.  And I have no desire to keep criticising other people's ideas.

Sure you can. I don't write up unwinnable encounters without clear warnings. It's not like there are a hundred wizards waiting outside the city.

You just can't win if you wait until they're all there and prepped up and you send a quarter of the party away.

By considerably later I was thinking an hour or two rather than right after Tasha's group leaves.

Would it be sunset by then?

In reply to Avelyn Golias (msg # 972):

I'm amazed it isn't sunset already.  The fact that it was getting late was the only reason we stopped at the inn in the first place before heading off to our next destination.  We're not planning anything else in Kommerfest.

And Siriel, noted.  It wasn't supposed to be a slight against your GMing at all.

Re: Out of Roleplay 11
Hmm, if it's nearly sunset one look at the light outside would dash any point of a street performance anyway. Nobody would be able to see it properly. So we just have to go outside for Avelyn to throw out that part of the plan.

Siriel:
As a rule I don't interfere with your planning, but why exactly are you planning on making a big show of leaving?

I mean I understand the rest of the plan, but I'm blanking on that part.

I thought they were  making a big show, then leaving later, as in the show was just a distraction, and the leaving wouldn't be until long after the "show".

Meanwhile we were getting out while the show was going on and everyone was distracted.

Siriel:
Okay, so I usually don't do this because I'm big on the players' choice thing, but huh...

But if you stick around until their leader shows up, what was the point? They'll just ambush you guys instead and then find out where Tasha went.

I think the idea was that he wouldn't know the random street performers were related to his Tasha quest.

Meh, maybe WITH your mage and two of our best fighters, you'd have a non 0 chance.

Fair enough.

Yeah I thought they made a deal about that. That's why I thought he was surprised we went to do shopping instead of just sleeping at the inn and shopping in the morning.

I thought we were sneaking out in the dark, and Avelyn was holding her performance at whatever the Kommerfest equivalent of a brightly lit city square was.

I thought Ardelyn and maybe Zach wanted to spend a while Forging if we actually had gotten the down time.

'Just going' is good.  Getting the heck out of Dodge seems to be a smart plan.  I'm all for that.

Sometimes I wish I were playing someone who could actually think these things through and articulate them.  But then, we wouldn't be IN this situation.  All I can have Tasha do is say 'No, leaving good, staying bad'.

Absolutely!  Tasha is all for that, as she noted.  ^_^

[Private to Taran: It's more the 'let's create a diversion!' with which I'm confused...would be better for EVERYONE to just bail out, together.  But, like Solomon, I'm getting a little tired of pointing out the flaws in the overcomplicated and optimistic plans some people keep coming up with... :(]

Good lets beat feet. I'm sure Garon could tank anything these Tasha-hunters could throw at him anyway. :p

[Private to Tasha: Well at least it'll be us surviving again. We just need to grab Ardelyn again, and we can have the "survivors" team together again!! :p]

Yeah, let's just run.  Distraction just opens YOU guys up to getting captured/thugged upon/blowning to little gooey bits.

[Private to Taran: True, true....]

Well, I am much better now, although in less pleasant news I am getting one of my super far back teeth extracted.

Also, I am amazed that I didn't miss much this time.

I thought for sure destruction would be raining from the heavens right now.
