"You can't expect a man to stop when he's gotten so far." Jack snarled, then suddenly turned and grabbed the sword. "Go away and let me attend to my business or you're a dead man."

Pinja pressed herself to the wall and drew her knees tightly to her chest. She was relieved that Captain SPenser had shown up and stopped him, but she did not want the captain to get hurt, or for Millie to get hurt either.

"Captain- it's all right." Pinja said. "This is just a misunderstanding that's gotten out of hand. This is my husband. Please, just go and leave us alone. You can take the girl with you, all Jack wants is me."

Re: Buckley Inn- Stables
Shawn jerked the sword out of Jack's hand, not caring if he sliced the man's flesh or how deep. "I would be doing the women of this country a favor if I just removed that for you right now. It's very obvious that the lady does not want to be with you so just let her go."

He looked over toward Pinja. If only he wasn't a member of the guard, he could just run Jack through and free her. Shawn glanced back at the cur he had trapped. On the other hand, Holiman would probably give him reason to cut him down, if he just had enough time. "He doesn't deserve your protection. You know as well as I do that he's not going to let me walk out of here with Millie."

"You're no man." Jack said. "You know nothing about how to please a woman. You're jealous so you pathetically try to spoil what I have. Pinja is my wife, she belongs to me and wants to be with me."

Pinja gulped. She reached over and touched Jack's foot, her hand resting over his boot.

"Jack." Pinja pleaded. "Let them go, please."

Re: Buckley Inn- Stables
Shawn knew in his heart that he had nothing to be jealous over. Brie was very happy, albeit a bit concerned by his distance lately. A muscle in his jaw moved. 'There is no need for me to be jealous, none at all. My wife and I are very happy and she knows she is well-loved. Does your wife believe that you love her?" He knew the answer to that of course, but didn't admit it.

"I love my wife." Jack drew Pinja up to her feet and hugged her to his side. "Take the worthless brat and get out of here before I kill you both."

Re: Buckley Inn- Stables
Shawn scowled at how Holiman referenced Millie but said nothing. He would find this man and free Pinja for him, but first he needed to get Millie out of here. He hurried over to Millie and cut the length of rope tethering her to the ring, scooped her up in his arms and carried her from the stables. Millie reached up to pull the gag from her mouth but remained quiet until they reached safety.

Re: Buckley Inn- Stables
Jack wanted to continue where he had been so rudely interrupted, but he was pretty sure that busybody would barge in again. Why couldn't people in this village mind their own business? Clearly the only way for a man to get his rights would be to leave town. Jack saddled up the horses, set Pinja on one and mounted the other. He held the reins to Pinja's horse as he charged out of the stables.

Re: Buckley Inn- Stables
Despite the drama in spring, he felt good.  Summer had started and everything he'd planted showed promise.  He had vegetables swelling on plants everywere.   He walked around the edge of the massive garden doing some weed pulling and pest management.

Shadow made her way among the plants, swatting and eating bugs, sometimes laying down to just enjoy the sun.

He had spent some time at the healer's place trying to work out fixes for the ills that plagued certain townfolk.  While diet was the normal cure for illness, some were of a magical nature and called for a more enlightened hand.

Aron:
Aron followed after her, running through possibilities in his mind.  Yehudit could have stopped at any number of different market vendors once she was done at the bake shop, she could have gone for a walk since it was still very early for supper. There were plenty of possibilities that didn't elicit panic within him. But then there were the unknowns.

Liadan told herself that not knowing where Yehudit was did not mean she was in any sort of danger. But she was always worrying about her. She let Aron catch up to her and slipped her hand into his.

Aron asked Arbor to prepare the wagon as quickly as he could, he fingers wrapping around Lia's hand as they waited.

Liadan fidgeted nervously with her bag. She told herself that she would get to see Yehudit before she left town and tried to calm down. Liadan leaned against Aron, trying to disguise her worry by pretending to be fascinated by the floor.

Aron slipped his arm around her to hold her close. He hoped there was an innocent explanation for Yehudit's absence, he tried to convince himself. But there was the smallest hint of something on his mind. Something he couldn't shake.

Liadan did not want to admit how anxious she felt. She rested her head against the left side of Aron's chest so she could hear his heartbeat. Liadan had always found the sound of his heartbeat comforting.

Aron rubbed Lia's shoulder comfortingly, hoping against hope he wasn't offering false hope. Something just felt...wrong to him.

"Maybe I should go tomorrow." Liadan said softly. "I really don't want to leave without saying bye to Yehudit and one more day shouldn't make much of a difference."

Liadan missed Aislyn, but Yehudit was her daughter.

"I could still make it before dark." Liadan said, but she did not want to go right away anymore. She wanted to see Yehudit first. Tomorrow morning after breakfast would be fine, maybe she could still be home before supper tomorrow night if she did not stay long. "But I may as well sleep in my own bed tonight."

Aron nodded. "It is always best to start out fresh on a trip." With the anxiety he was feeling, he didn't want Lia to leave tonight. "Stay. Stay here tonight."

Aron looked over to Arbor. "Change of plans, Arbor. We won't need the wagon ready until morning." He turned to Lia. "Shall we walk up to Brie's and wait for Yehudit there?"

"Sure." Liadan nodded, pressing closer to Aron. She thought about how she thought Sileas and Larrigan were talking to Brie and Shawn for something very important, like maybe a marriage, but Liadan chose not to mention it. She did not want Aron to think they were barging in and not want to go.

Re: Buckley Inn- Stables
"Will do.", getting the wagon together was a long process.  Checking the wheels and axels was the hardest, even with the help of Shadow.

He hauled the wagon out into the open light and gave it a quick once over, before grabbing a broom and brush to clean it.
