Re: The Dark Forest
Pulling the cloak off the two hidden people, Akina looked at Sileas, clearly in pain. "Go catch her... I'll...be okay..." With that, the young half elf sat against the tree, holding her ribs and shivering in agony.

Re: The Dark Forest
Sileas scrambled to her feet and waited for Larrigan. She wasn't certain what was off, but she wasn't going to face Questa, friend or not, without Larrigan at her side.

Re: The Dark Forest
Looking down the path as Sileas stood waiting or Larrigan, Akina noticed a woman with a crossbow and a very peculiar creature burried in her bosom, following a man. She weakly raised her hand as a salute, as per customary in her village.

"There they are, Rupert. Is that Questa with Sileas and Larrigan? She doesn't look overly injured," Brie said without really waiting for an answer. Instead she surged forward.

"That's not Questa..." Rupert started to explain that Questa looked nothing like the elfin girl, but then Mrs Spenser was running to her daughter.

Re: The Dark Forest
With another convulsion of agony, the young girl who looked so differently from others curled up into a ball while her ferret stood guard valiantly. Without warning, tears began streaming down her face.

Re: The Dark Forest
Concern for her new friend overtook Sileas. Questa was in trouble but somehow different and Sileas was getting a really bad feeling from her. But she couldn't go off and leave Akina this way. She knelt next to her. "Akina, what can I do for you? How can I help?"

Re: The Dark Forest
Akina looked up at her newfound companion and whispered in elvish. With how much pain she was in, it was all she could manage. But she knew that somehow, Sileas had understood.

Re: The Dark Forest
Larrigan gained his feet and moved to Sileas weapon ready. He suspected a trap, something treacherous " Sileas I don't think that is Questa, it may be a trap...Be careful and stay close."

Seeing the young Elvin wowman's face, and the obvious pain she was in, Larrigan took a flask of brandy out of his pack and offered it to her. " If she's inured I can carry her easily." Larrigan spoke again putting his hand on Sileas shoulder.

Re: The Dark Forest
"She said the Mother of the Forest will heal her," Sileas said in a hushed tone. "I know you can carry her easily. Let's see if we can pick up Questa's trail and determine what is going on, and then we'll come back for Akina. We won't leave her out here for long." A soft sad sigh escaped her. "If Galina is here, that is Questa but she's been touched by Galina's dark magic and we don't know what might be planned. But it won't be Questa acting of her own accord."

Re: The Dark Forest
With a pained smile and a nod, Akina covered herself with her cloak, nearly disappearing to all but the best trackers. She already knew how skilled of a hunter Brighid Spenser was, and Henri was out here as well. And with Wesker standing guard, she was sure Henri at least would see this and know she was nearby. Ater all, how long had she had Wesker?

Re: The Dark Forest
" The we send The demon to hell, and free your friend." Larrigan replied in a matter of fact tone." No demon will pull me from your side if that is where you want me."

Just be wary Sileas, and trust that we can overcome this fiend, and that you are loved, and worthy of love. No matter what she says to you to break your will."
He stopped her, turned her to face him so that she looked up into his eyes. In his eyes she could see pride, confidence and love for her. He simply leaned down and kissed the top of her head softly." As long as you have faith in that We can not fail."

Re: The Dark Forest
Sileas gazed into his eyes and smiled. "I do have faith in that. I had faith in being loved before, when she told me I was created for the sole purpose of destroying the family and my faith is even stronger now. As for where I want you, I want you by my side forver," she added, her voice strong. "I told her when she tried to break me  before you arrived that I believe in the power of love and that it is the strongest power in the world." She reached out and wrapped her hand around his.

Re: The Dark Forest
Taking her hand Larrigan raised it to his lips and kissed it. He glanced to the direction Questa had fled and motioned with Bhrumbahr. " Your not far from wrong there."

"She'll have to answer for her wrongs against you, no one does evil without the price being paid." Larrigan kept his hand in hers giving it a soft, reassuring squeeze as he began to move forward. His stride kept short so Sileas could easily stay by his side.

Re: The Dark Forest
Sileas smiled up at him, her eyes filled with the love for him that she had yet to truly speak of out loud. She was sure many in the family suspected it, but Sileas was determined that Larrigan would be the first to hear it from her lips.

Accustomed to her years of exploring and before that, running from the child catchers, Sileas took long strides, easily maintaining an equal pace with Larrigan. "I'm not certain how we will stop her and make her pay. Papa took her head off last time and yet here she is." Sileas was silent for a few moments, worrying her lower lip. "I was thinking of asking Mama if I could go up to her first husband's manor and look through his things. I have heard that Kegan practiced some magic. I'm thinking we might need magic to defeat magic."

" There is nothing that can not be overcome or defeated. Even the old gods knew they would one day die." Larrigan assured Sileas as he kept his eyes on the surroundings finding it hard to not look into her eyes, except for short glances that seemed far to short.

"Magic I do not know, but I think you may be on to something. If your father took her head and she still takes form then perhaps we should consider it."

Re: The Dark Forest
"Akina seems to believe there is something mystical about me, she even asked if I was full human. I didn't know how to answer since I don't know anything about who fathered me. Are my ears pointy like an elf's? Aalyssa never said anything when she was here."

Sileas laughed slightly. "I'm not at all certain that I am comfortable dealing with something I know so little about, but this is my family. And if I must dabble in magic to protect them, I shall."

Re: The Dark Forest
The young half elf opened her eyes several hours later to see a large wolf-like creature hovering over her. She smiled sweetly at it and went to wave it away, and it backed away from her a few steps, enough for her to stand up. Upon doing so, she saw a squat, ugly being with greyish skin staring at her. The hideous thing grinned at her evilly, showing rows of pointed teeth. The orc raised its sword to her and let loose a powerful warcry, signalling hundreds more to emerge from the trees. It was the orc raiding party which had destroyed her home. Only this time, she was alone...

She woke up screaming and crying. It had only been a nightmare. Yeah, that had to be it. But there was something over her. Looking up, she saw a large wolf-like creature. She waved it away, and it allowed her to stand. Opening her eyes once more, she gawked at the creature on its back. It was a druid. It had to be. She smiled softly and whispered, "Hello, mistress of the forest," in elven. She knew it would understand, if it was a druid. It silently gestured to Akina, then urged its mount to begin walking. Well, sauntering, really, but it was moving away. Seeing she had no other choice, she elected to follow it, limping and holding her ribcage. It seemed that she was being cared for by the forest, as she had hoped.

Re: The Dark Forest
Sileas and Larrigan were making fairly good progress through the forest yet taking their time as she favored her ankle still. It happened so fast, Sileas could not say what happened exactly or even who had done it, but the whole area of the forest had darkened and grew icy cold. A great and terrible sound had nearly pierced her ear drums and she lost consciousness. When she awakened, there was no sign of Larrigan, only his cloak and hammer.

Two hours later, her throat was raw and her voice nearly gone from shouting for him while she searched, leaving Sileas to believe nothing other than that he was gone. She wrapped his cloak around her, savoring his scent, and dragged his hammer along behind her, heading for the refuge of her schoolhouse. The cold of the forest and the absence of Larrigan settled into her heart. Once she was over the shock, she would find Papa. He would help her find Larrigan. He had to. Sileas slowly trudged toward her home.

Sileas  Spenser:
Sileas had already set off for the Dark Forest and ignored her aunt yelling. She understood why Aunt Lia was upset, but even in war, every group had a battle cry. At the edge of the Dark Forest, she took a deep breath and set off inside, praying she had enough tea at home for the effects of this.

Larrigan Iandrae Och'Sarrana Black Kettle:
Lia, he will try to provoke you, prod you into rash action, he will try to separate us, and if he can turn us against one another." Larrigan spoke as he headed toward the door." I have never faulted you for your strength of will, or your passion..But do not let it become a weapon against you and Yehudit...It will do her no good if you are trapped and join her in her bondage."

He walked quickly so that he was in the lead, better he be the first one to stumble into one of Any's tricks or vermin he had recruited to serve him.

Liadan followed Sileas, nervously digging her nails into Aron's arm. Yehudit had been missing for so long. She wanted to run ahead and find Yehudit.... But she did not know where Andy's lair was, or Yehudit.

Re: The Dark Forest
Sileas fought back against the panic welling within her chest, drawing strength from the knowledge that most of her family was here and they were, for the most part, organized. She let Larrigan lead although she did move up to walk almost beside him. Stay calm. For Yehudit. This is your chance to take Andy out once and for all. You can know peace and happiness again.

As they grew closer to the lair, she pulled one of the arrows Larrigan had made and had it ready.

Liadan released Aron's arm to draw a dagger. She was ready to use it. She just needed someone to stab with it.

Aron pulled the sword from its sheath, albeit awkwardly. He was not a fighter by nature but for his baby girl, he would behead this bastard himself.

Re: The Dark Forest
Larrigan stood ready, weapon in hand he looked about for any sign of ambush or treachery. He stepped toward Sileas instinctively. He didn't doubt her ability to defend herself but he was not going to let her far from him as long as they were in Andy's backyard.

Re: The Dark Forest
His lair was just dead ahead from them. Sileas motioned for everyone to stop talking and to move quietly. They were well armed and out-numbered him, but she still didn't want to alert him to their presence. She wanted to get in there, kill him and get Yehudit out of there. She prayed things hadn't gotten as far as they had when he had her. But she'd been held for days, for Yehudit it had been but hours.

"Let's do this," she whispered to Larrigan. She nocked her arrow and held the bow ready.
