that is a good question actually, does everyone have a starting city in mind?  we don't need to start in the same spot. I can alway set off a nuclear holocost to get everyone where I want them later.

O had a good point (O for Orlando), he was trying to figure out what to be powerwise based on balancing the group.  so feel free to talk about your power and skill design to help create a rounded character in this thread.  A little meta-gaming is ok.

My thoughts are that powerwise it is nice to have the following:

hulk/tough

artillery

sneaky type

controller/ getaway person/ utility player

psionic or magic or sensitive person

fighter dude

This game will allow for everyone to have a little fighting if they swing that way.

I'm envisioning a fighter type player with some range to him. I think in supers we should also talk energy-type as well. We don't want a lot of human torches running around after-all. So yeah. I'm a fighter type with kinetic based powers for some range.

As for starting locale, my character is military so he could really be anywhere...

I'm going for the psionic-sensitive person with on energy manipulation/super smart dude twist...is that vague enough? Looking at vibrational energy...with the premiss that all matter as a vibrational signature or amplitude...with this in mind character code name AMP!

With these new characters in mind are we starting at the Normal, Heroic or Epic level....IE the Psychic and how the levels we start at would affect how I'm going to build my character...top loading VS the long-hall...some insight please?

GM says Epic level but the book has rules for if you have two powers sources. I.e psyonic and magic, BRP has the rules.

I am going to go the mystic route, be a jack of all trades type of guy, with a snoopy research investigate twist.  I will have some energy stuff, but I don't know what kind.  Since it will be Magic it will most likely be elemental, you know what ever is in the book. Maybe I can get seeker to let me have a signature energy instead of fire...wink wink.

Hey all, so I am working on skills and powers so far and what will be blended from the two systems. This week I will be putting together a character sheet and skills to choos from.

We will use epic level powers for buying powers.  Send me your concepts of powers when you get them.

Hold off on skills.  I should be done with it this week and we can start character creation next week.

Orlando, I still need to find out what magic system we will use, Brp has two and Runequest has more.  So far I like Runequest's sorcery, so check that out.

some of the mutations are cool and could be very helpful.  comboing a powerlevel with a mutation could be really juicy.  the rules for power breakdown is on page 88 in the brp.

Seeker...how important and story driving will our characters back grounds be incorporated in our game???? You know me I'll go crazy with back ground story, the who's, what's, why's and how's, if you let me...so where's my limit? I'm looking to be in my mid-fourties, professionally, academically and socially well established. Deep family background, I know family tree back to the lineage of Jesus...LOL! IE Dan Brown...LOL! If this is OK?

Can't answer for the GM directly but I have a fairly detailed backstory myself that Seeker has blessed. It doesn't go all the way back to Johova though, 5 generations is all.

I think that a detailed background is good and the more you give me the more I have to work with creating buy-in and story for the game.  So go for it...but tell me your background from your characters point of view.  I knew my grandparents but I didn't know everything about them.  I am sure they took with them to the grave more than I ever knew.  So the same should be true of your character. There are things you know about your past and things that I will add to spice it up.  Part of the fun should be discovering the background as you go.


So basically allow me some freedom to create stuff for your background as well.

I will adhere to your back ground in most cases.

So go for it.

So, what is String Theory? What do you want to do with it? Is there a power in the book close to it?

In laymen's terms, its the theory that electrons and quarks within an atom are in fact one dimensional oscillating lines ("strings") these strings have frequencies and these strings could be manipulated for different effects

I would like to have the abilities that can manipulate these "STRINGS" most of these powers would be based on psy  powers (reading minds, laying on hands-healing physically, mentally and spiritually, able to boost certain skills and attributes, seeing peoples "string" aura, all Gene Grays powers but at an atomic level.

Just thoughts about how to bring string into the game, any thoughts?
