Re:OOC

Max, to see him you would need to look for him, you know which general direction, but you would need to actually locate him via perception.

Are you actively looking (1CA), passively you don't see him anymore.

Maybe we could go offline with this later...I have an idea for what you mentioned...but I understand and 'SEE' your point.

Re:OOC

Clarifying question just to make sure I understand the order of combat.

I don't want to stop the thugs from running. But..

Since they fired and Kirby took defensive CA could he still get in an offensive CA before they run? (I don't want to, but I'd like to know if he could have - for future reference)

Re:OOC

Their move was part of their action.  A person can move and attack in the same round, 8m. So no, you couldn't have prevented it. Unless you engaged one of them in hand to hand melee combat.

Re:OOC

In reply to Seeker of Truth (msg #773):

So if you can intercede, that would require a result straight away so that we know what's about to happen, right? Otherwise, we're just taking a punt on whether someone really needs saving or not. Is it that you'll give us the chance? How will that work exactly?
Right now Kirby is firing into the enemy, the enemy fired back and ran. Unlikely they'll hit, but they could get lucky. You left it at just the shooting. If I've already acted, how would I intercede from here? Do I wait for you to say:

With a casual turn of his shoulder, Kirby allowed one bullet to pass. However, what must have been the luckiest shot in the world shot right toward his heart. Kirby moved and pushed the bullet, but not enough. This was one bullet he couldn't dodge. His eyes widened with realization as he shifted it away from his heart and right into his arm.

Or will you complete the scene with:

A dull fire erupted in his left bicep, and he grit his teeth to hold back the yell that was half way up his throat.

Or will you OOC- bullet is bound to hit Kirby's arm. You see it all happening, Tsunami.

Or leave it as it is and hope that one of us thinks Oh crap! They shot at Kirby! Not on my watch... and Tsunami jumps in front of Kirby and takes the bullet, looking deeply into his eyes and saying, "It was for you....it was always just for you...Tell Tiny Tim I won't be comin' home no more...Tell Scarlet I do give a damn..." And Kirby looks annoyed, saying, "Dumbshit, I totally had that."

In a PM Seeker had told me the rolls. I basically knew I had to beat normal sucesses with a parry to avoid being swiss cheese. I rolled those and knew I had suceeded. Had I failed I would have said so in OOC in case you wanted to go all  Body Guard on me with a Whitney Houston sound track. (pauses, pours drink on the ground for ms. houston)

But I see how if you wanted to help you kind of had to wait for me to act. Not sure there's a better way to do it though.

Re:OOC

Well, honestly I don't know the best way. It would depend on the situation, I am not aposed to people asking for help. Or writing a scene or situation that help would be condusive.  I defenitely can see where we need to avoid swashbuckling that is unwanted...lol...or the dude I got it scenario.

I didn't realize that the mariners were still in the league. Did they even play a full season last year?

:)

I kid of course. I have some family up in the pacific northwest. My great aunt Nina, who lives in Seattle, is a HUGE M's fan.

Re:OOC

Damn...all sorts of stuff goes down when you're out of the room. I'm gonna have to try to time it where I can be at the computer when you guys are. Nice stuff folks.
Sort of like a first time. Over so quick that you aren't sure if it really happened.
But is it really over?
