Well thanks man. Or did you mean Aeviternus? Nice work A. Like a tennis match, good return. Notice the super shortened version of your name, purposefully done. Blame it on my laziness and the iPad.

FX, would you believe all the Chinese is just a bunch of made up Chinese words, strung together to look real? So when exactly did you turn on your earpiece? If in my post, I can go back and add a PM with a translation.

Re:OOC

So reasons to roll a check when it seems like you can't succeed:

1. You can always roll a crit, your crit range is 10% of your skill, powers that boost up skills affect your crit range. And trust me, crits happen all the time on this dice roller program.

2. On some attempts there is called something that is known as a Strong success, which will beat a normal roll.  These happen at certain times.

3. There are also modifiers:
Easy-Roll, but dont roll a 99 or 100
Simple-Your skill is effectively doubled for the roll, so a skill of 50 would be treated as a skill rating of 100
Normal-straight roll
Difficult-halves your skill rating
Impossible-Roll a crit baby!

And then there are negative and positive modifiers from + or -5% on up.

So I will throw out the raw number most of the time, so please always roll, and also please try not to figure out your success, it will only make my job harder when I have to come back and tell you, well sorry you failed because of x,y,z.

As we get playing longer and the system part of the game is more familiar we can get into that.  I will hopefully post tonight to move things along.  I have asked Max to respond to my last little post.  If at all possible await for me to give the go ahead.

Re:OOC

In reply to Seeker of Truth (msg #993):

Question about simple and difficult rolls.

Character A has 80% horse riding and Character B has 40%. Clearly chr A is the better equestrian.

In a difficult situation Character A is at -40 but Character B -20, half of their perspective scores? Wouldn't there be Difficut things that Character A can do that are impossible for Character B?

So my question is this: why would the difficulty roll be based on a factor of the character's skill instead of the situation?

Re:OOC

In reply to Edmund Kirby Smith IV (msg #995):

So to answer your question...
Rider A has 80% ride, Rider B has 40% ride, they are bandits and have just robbed a whore house of all it's pussy and run out the door without paying:)

They are riding through a trail at break neck horse speed at night, leaping over shit and dodging. This is a difficult ride check for anyone right, sure, but becuase of Rider A's expertise I would say make a ride check at normal roll or at -20% or -10%, and Rider B, this is a difficult check for you so your effective skill is 20% or I could impose a -10% or something. So, answer to your question is yes. When you compare the two Ridaer A at least has a 60% to make it and Rider B only has a 20%, statisticly whose gonna make it? But, to throw in, Rider A wants to shoot back at the Vampire Whores chasing after him, I would say shooting from his moving horse and all the other dodging and shit would be a difficult shot for Rider A thus imposing a penalty on him.

The thing to know, if something is considered a "difficult" check it can half your effective skill rating to succeed, part of this system makes it so players with skills even over 100% can still fail at stuff.

Re:OOC

So when you are posting, which it is ok to go ahead now, lets figure in Earl and Malcohm (the bald guy) into the posting rate.

Max was the only one who made the save, no one is hurt or adversly affected in any way, you will find out the effect in the next scene.
