Hey Kirby, have you had your go for this CA? Because it looks like only you and Orlando haven't had your turns yet.

I think unloading the clip was Kirby's action?? Or was that last turn?

Re: OOC 2

Seeker please explain what level of pain one would experience taking one point of damage to each body part, just so I would know what pain Max is  experiencing now and in the near future...

Re: OOC 2

That shouldn't be percieved as of yet as unberable pain. This game takes pain into account. Through major wounds and minus to skills, like the one Tsunami just encountered:)

A good section to read is the RQII section of Combat for major wounds and what happens once your hitpoint location reaches 0 or more. I am not going to worry about any mass damage, I only care about the part when you hitpoint reaches 0 or greater, and/or when some combat manuvers cause certain modifiers to happen.

Seeker another game mechanics question. When making an opposing skill check IE my psi against whatever Alex rolled. Does Max want to roll a high number or low number for best results? I just like to know, not that it's going to determine my roll...

Re: OOC 2

Skill X is 55% and you want to attack them. You want to roll under your skill to be successful, but for a normal success you want to roll as high as you can not going over your skill. So a roll of 55 would be the best. A crit is 10% of your skill so (rounding up) your crit range is 1-6.  Any roll from 1-6% is a crit. This also means that a 7 is the worst roll you could make while still succeeding at a skill check.

A roll of 1 is a perfect roll. 2-6 are crits, but the 2 roll is beaten by the crit roll of a 5. 5 is higher than 2, the higher roll is what you want. So other than a 1, the 6 would be the second best crit roll you could make in the case of this skill. The 2 would be the worst crit you could roll. Worst crit is an oxymoron I know, but I want you to understand for comparison.

Baddy X rolls to attack. His skill is at 60%. He rolls a 33%. He succeeds in attacking.
Your skill is 40%. You have to roll a resist check. You roll a 39%.
You succeed. Your roll was a higher success than Baddy X's and under your skill.

Re: OOC 2

I think you're wrong about the actions. Kirby unloaded his clip in the CA where I shot a Chi Blast at FX.
In FX's turn, he evaded the barrage, and then appeared behind me to attack. This started the next CA. Kirby has not had a chance to go. Neither has Orlando.

Wait, my mistake. I guess nobody has actually attacked yet.

No id say Alex has attacked...the one aspect of roll playing I DISLIKE the most...is when a real powerful good guy gets totally jimmy jacked-off...and starts killing the good team, before they've even really became the good team...did I leave any details  out? I hate it, when that happens, boy I hate that...but I'm really smiling inside like the joker...

Re: OOC 2

I'll tell you here Max so everyone can see.

You rolled a 54 to attack him with your psionics skill.  Your skill is 83.
He rolled a 72 to save and his persistance is 74.  His 72 is higher than you 54.
He makes the save.  I use the term save just to make it seem more familiar, but almost every skill has a counterbalancing skill.
Earlier Aeviternus tried to use magnetism to link the bad guys together. They all rolled 20-33% brawn checks against him. They succeeded but rolled lower than his attack, which means that he beat them. Well the fourth guy actually failed the roll. But Aeviternus got all o them.  With his attack.

Now like all good comics you can keep concentrating and try the same attack next round and give it another go. Basically wearing him down.

Ahhhh Maaannn! Come on Seeker, if I'm gonna go down, and not get an action, I should at least be able to write my own death scene!
Let's take a vote. All who want to write their own tragic, beautiful end of life scene:

Aye!

By the way, I know I'm an old school nerd for sure because I laughed my balls off about THAC0 and Kirby's BB/LG.
