Re: OOC 3

Ohh a cross post, just saw your post O.  Yes you guys see .50 caliber wounds on his left side, but they don't seem to be bleeding much.

Max is on his left, Orlando and Xuan are at his balls, Kirby playing cards below deck. Ace probably can't see them well or at all. But he knows he was shot up pretty good. Can anybody say healing factor? No really can you say it?

Heeeeaaaalllliiinnnggggg Factor. Really though he still has the wounds, he just has a lot of tough muscle.

Serious question: since the last bit of dramatic conversation did not take a combat action, are we not yet back to the top? Trying to figure out when Kirby can reemerge after a successful hand of pinnacle down stairs.

LOL - Wait, I can see the mechanics from my vantage under the water. It's all just special effects, holograms and machinery. Just take off his mask and we'll see that it's just old fisherman Gallagher trying to scare off all the other fishermen in the area so that he can take all the business for himself.

And he would have gotten away with it too if it weren't for us meddling kids and our pesky Coast Guard.

Re: OOC 3

Aeviternus:
"Touched her prison" is probably a reference to Max's contact with a crystal skull, and if it's imprisoning a god it's got to be a powerful artifact at that.  She's the Hindu god of creation and cosmic energy, seems pretty lined up with Max's power.

The reference to Sekteh being the beginning and not the end ties in with Dhroga eating everything and leaving nothing, or darkness in his wake.  Clearly Shark-dude prefers things with the lights out.  The old gods he fought and slayed were gods of light.

And just for S and G's, Dhroga is also a level 64 mage of Tichondrius; a member, possibly the founder, of the Legendary Tryhards of Tichondrius.

I heart nerds.

The why?  Envy, oppression, revenge...  Set is also the god of foreigners along with his evil and (therefore) later became associated with foreign oppression, which sounds exactly like what is on its way.  Maybe the missing link here is that Shark-dude and I are talking about the same person with different names, I'm using a name that strikes fear while he's using a name that is familiar and friendly (if they're on the same side, that's definitely logical).

Max Jackson:
You reviled that Shakti is where Maxs power comes from. and that she's trapped in the crystal. Which means that crystals can entrap gods or possible beings with divine power. We could use this to our future advantage. We become the god trappers...LOL!

Sounds like Set is back or headed and gathering strength on earth, again.

'Your creature Dhroga' sounds like the shark's referring to something out of Aces past and he's fearful of it as the shark mentioned, but why?

I gather form this info that Set is the real threat at this point.

Max Jackson:
In reply to Seeker of Truth (msg # 335):

Max would know her from her Hinduistic formate. During his world travel and research. She is the divine creator, the sacred force. Max always had a creative mind and the influence of Shakti's power has taken this creativity to a different level. A meta-human level if you will.

Knowing that she is the divine creator makes this important to Max because he know's he can think through any problem giving time and needed energy.

One other point about the sharks statement. Knowing the shark is of Set lets Max know that Set is for sure gunning for the team, which to Max is a very bad thing. To be on a god's radar and all. Max also thinks it had something to do with the crystals. So either Set fears what the crystals may threaten is power base or he seeks to us them against his greatest enemies. It's a god throw down!

Edmund Kirby Smith IV:
So you already told me the sharkie was a Titan, but I did noticethe clues about them working to destroy the gods before, and his referring to us as mortals.

I also went and re-read the true danger thread and I did come up with this guess - there are at least 3 parties (in addition to use) that have been activated in relation to the skulls. The other-worldly world eaters, the demon-span vampire and her brood, and the titans (and their kin, werecreachers). Perhaps the titans were awoken because one of these other parties are the "gods" they once destroyed - and now they are awake and pissed off.

Just guessing...

Xuan Tien John Wu:
Done the thing with the thing.

So I think I have an unfair advantage, having gotten some inside information directly from the source and all. But I'll throw down what I remember and claim whatever prize falls at my feet.

So the Shark-dude is a Titan of sorts and is referring to the Gods of Olde, as per the Greek gods and the like who beat down the Titans and told them to shut their f'ing traps and stay down, 'cause they wanted to rule the world.

There's obvious conflicting forces at work here, where something is breaking down the prisons where the Titans and their like once suffered, and not all of it has to do with Dhroga, though he's a key component. Or Setekh, in this case as the the Titan knows him by. It sounds as though Dhroga is maybe more of a word, possibly a power word, that symbolizes the coming of doom, or a an end to things, possibly rebirth through death and destruction. Of course, all gods can have different names depending on the culture that tried to label them.

Shakti is one of the Gods or godlike beings, who's essence or soul has been shoved in a prison of Crystal Skull. She may be one of many to suffer that fate, and is also on the verge of trying to break free from her prison, in this case via energy transference to Max who may be a suitable carrier of the power. Through him she may either break free or be reborn in the right circumstance.

So we're looking at a return of the dieties or gods of olde. Finding the missing folks in the jungle and possibly the skull will be a key factor in figuring more of this out.

Oh, and the Shark boy seems to have the ability to consume someone's power. That's an awful prospect. The only thing he's likely to be afraid of is Orlando's God. A show of power might be enough to send him running, which may be our only shot because he's gonna be a tough nut to crack for this little band of misfits. Though if I had a shot, I'd jump in his mouth and go super nova inside his ugly head. ;p

How's I do?

Orlando Tibbs:
Well, since I am a geek and I know Setekh is another name for Set the evil Egyptian god of darkness I would also assume that Dhroga and Set are the same person AND I'm gonna go out on a big fucking limb and say that Satin=Dhroga=Set and maybe all of the other evil gods are a manefistation of this Dhroga dude.  Which would be a cool way to bring Christianity and polytheism back together like they crashed apart 2000 years ago.

Shakti (thank u google) is the Egyptian god of cosmic energy which make sense for Max And the Silver Surfer. Max needs to start flying that we be freakin great.

I'm thinking that this guy thinks the Titans were here first and that the gods took their world from them, that makes sense with Greek Mythology and Chinese mythology too to a loose extent. But we are now talking Hindu, Greek, and who knows what else so I think we have a blended world war of Gods and Titans on our hands in the past and maybe future again. You havent seen pacific rim have you?  Since you and I have chatted a bit I know about the Christian pull on this game so I will be patiently waiting for worlds to collide.

So good stuff all around, I will cut down to the down and dirty, this will be in game information, and once you all or if you all get through this it would be information that all of you would probably start to confer and digest.  So it will be in game knowledge.  Now what I am hoping to do with this information is to have you all chat about it in game, and do some roleplaying with it, there are spot on points and some ascu points as well which is all part of the fun. And of course some things are off.  Talk about it, this material should definitely bring about some game play conversation, especially by the end of the scene here.

Re: OOC 3

I would say no because, the creature is roaring and Xuan probably wouldn't want the creature to hear him make this announcement so he is being on the quiet side.

Also all of this is happening within a seconds moment of time,

Here is the timeline because Ace is trying to catch Max.
While xuan and Orlando are climbing up the latter, Max was placing the power net on the creature, they get to the top of the ladder and see it go into place, then the monster fights the net and drops Max, Ace will still have a chance to act.

I would assume that as soon as Max is out of the way he would be free to also unleash holy hell.

So with this in mind....:

Max drops, and is clear of the creature
-Everyone can now go simultaneously

Re: OOC 3

as a reminder
You make a roll to Attack that is a %
You roll a location 1d20 and that is the location that you were intending to hit, remember we don't alway need to aim for the head, if you gain a level of success you can change location
You roll damage even if you think you fail, add your damage bonus if you are fighting hand to hand (we aren't here)
Describe your actions as you attack for the public to read and as a part of the pm to me, give it to me plain what you are trying to do.
Also give me any Combat Maneuver you want to add to your attack, Powers for the most part don't have Combat Maneuvers, the effect of the power is enough of a cool effect.  Some powers do have a combat maneuver effect and only work if there is a level of success just like regular combat maneuvers.  I think Xuan has some chi powers that have one combat maneuver associated with them. There could be more of you that have them.  Just read through your power before you fully use it.

Then I will tell you of your success or not.

Except for the description of the power and attack all of the above should be written at the bottom of the post in a PM to me.

Forget that earlier shit I said about CMs. I was wrong, we are playing with CMs in our powers automatically for levels of success.

What you can do is train powers to have CMs without the need of a level of success or to double up CMs.

The pistol would probably be the easiest for all without training - but the M4's single, or three-round burst modes might also be good choices.

I'd recommend you put the weapon down sir before you hurt someone.  It's no bueno to try to use a weapon that you don't know how to use. It's not a -1 to your d20 die roll.

Leaving early like you guys did, you weren't able to do the advanced weapons training at the Arsenal.  Kirby will have to teach everyone on the fly and you guys need to state that you are training if you want to learn it. And it will take time.

Re: OOC 3

i would say snatching him and getting him clear of the blast would be 1 CA. Finish up your last CA then ACE.

Remember everyone, if you want to actively use a skill it cost a CA. So at this point if you wanted to actively scan the water or other boat that would be a Perception check and cost a CA.

Just asking what do I see, is there anything I notice, or what's going on around me, or do i see anything useful are all passive types of perception checks, they are things you would notice right off the bat.  They don't cost a CA when in combat, because you need helpful and basic knowledge of your surroundings.  So you can always ask that type of stuff in battle. But if ACE now says, I want to see what is going on over at the other boat, he might move slightly to get a better vantage point and stare for a moment, as the ship isn't right next to you.

Re: OOC 3

For those interested in this sort of thing...

I realized that Kirby's description only described him in uniform, which he's worn maybe once or twice in this game. I just updated the description so you can get a feel for what he looks like most of the time. I updated it in it's proper place, but here it is to save you a couple of clicks:

Current Look:

Kirby is tanned, bordering on olive, in completion with intense blue eyes who appears to be in his late 20's. He is of average height and build with a closely cropped brown hair cut, an upright posture, and well toned muscles – all tell tale signs of the professional soldier he is. Kirby can’t seem to look out of uniform even when wearing the civilian attire he wears now. His boots, cargo pants, and leather belt, all from the brown side of the color wheel, could pass for military issue if not for a different shade or a bit of camouflage. Neatly tucked in atop a proper gig line is a maroon t-shirt containing a small Caribbean-themed shield known to few outside the close-knit sporting community from which it hails. The shield comprises a palm-tree on an island on a sunny day. Next to the palm tree are three vertical yellow lines joined at the top. Below the shield, in faded lettering, are the words “The Windies”.

On top of the shirt Kirby will often wear a new looking, brown, long-sleeve coat with several pockets. On his right hand he wears a gold class ring from Virginia Military Institute, class of 2004.

When in uniform:

The Army Captain is typically clad in the new standard army blue uniform complete with army blue coat over a long sleeved white shirt and black tie. His trousers, which sport a gold-braid running down their seams, are “bloused” into a pair of black jump boots that are polished to a mirror-like shine. On his right shoulder he wears the blue shoulder cord of the Infantry and his head is topped with the tan beret of an Army Ranger.

hey everyone, I didn't something a little unorthodox on that last post.  I used your introspective text (simple black text) as if it were inner thought text, which connected Poseidon's mental connection to make his comments.  This won't be a habit, it is a special circumstance where I thought it was appropriate because of the situation.  I won't do this normally. When players do it, it is called using out side information. This is a unique situation and thought I would clarify before everyone started doing it.

As we wait on Xuan, is there anything that anyone wanted to do, or talk about. This particular person is a former acquaintance of Dave's and has some specific powers with Travel, it is most disconcerting to some.

I am also moving us to the next part of our story, and not jacking anyone, contrary to popular belief, the ride will be over momentarily.

This is the end of the first Chapter.  yes the whole first Chapter.  You guys, rock, loved all of your play.

Everyone gets 5 improvement rolls.

1 power increase

1 New power purchase

3 Hero Points (everyone is available to start looking for Heroic Abilities)

Everyone gets one Stat increase at a +1.

This in effect is a major increase.

If you want to discuss stuff do it here for the moment, strategize, get your bearings.  you are about to land on Kirby's home in Guyana, and start the rescue mission of Xuan's mother and search for Crystal Skull. Chapter 2 I will create a new thread once Xuan has posted.

I am very excited about Kirby's new power. I will not give it away, to be revealed. In game, but I am stoked.

Now on to strategy. Let's try not to kill any locals. Who know's what what Seeker has in store for us when we get there. That said, the plan would be to spend 2, maybe 3, days at "base camp" before setting out. There should probably be locals - whom Kirby would consider family - familiar with where we want to go. We're fortunate that we should be WAY ahead of any reasonable travel schedule. The government, and other people on our tail (except slick?) should think we're many thousand miles away from where we'll be.

We'll see, of course, but get ready for the Caribbean charm of Guyana!

I think we also need to have a re-accounting of events. See if we're missing anything important and then lead into a good brain storming e=session, plan of attack in getting Sue and team members back.

Some things to think about.

1. What do we know about 'slick'? Weaknesses, strengths.

2. Who can we trust and not trust?

3. What are our teams weaknesses and strengths?

4. Who else are we up against?

5. What allies can we depend on?

6.What pieces of the story puzzle can we put together so far? The who's, what's, why's where's and how's.

In reply to Max Jackson (msg # 134):

Kirby upgraded DEX, which helped a lot of his skills and gave him a plus to strike rank.

Also, Kirby raised his Kenetic Manipulation a level. In addition to slight damage and range increases to thrown/fired items - he can now affect things just over 90 degrees. Yes, he can now shoot around corners. :)

I'll keep the new power to myself for the time being.

Max,I'll take a stab at your questions above at some point tomorrow.

The skill extra energy is on our page under home rules.  It is taken from the BRP super power "Extra energy" I turned it into a skill so that every character can have access to it.

Re: OOC 3

In reply to Max Jackson (msg # 133):

Taking Max's questions and adding my own thoughts. Maybe we can all to the same to keep this organized?

1. What do we know about 'slick'? Weaknesses, strengths.

Kirby’s thoughts: When he dies he turns to mush? Is that a weakness? I think he’s likely a body-jumper or something. In his fight with Kirby he moved fairly quickly, seemed nimble/acrobatic, but really only fought with a gun. Kirby dropped him with one bullet, albeit a super-charged one, and he became mush. The body was no longer needed? Perhaps the body-jumping ability is what allowed to appear to be in multiple places at once.

2. Who can we trust and not trust?

Kirby’s thoughts: We cannot trust very many people – probably just our group. We know that who/what we’re up against can take over or influence even well trusted friends – exhibit A: Alex – so we need to be mindful of that. Further, the Coast Guard finding us so quickly, and with the level of presumed hostility, should raise further concerns about the US government (moles or otherwise). However, I don’t think we’ll be successful if we don’t trust anyone. We sort of have to play it by ear – and tell as few people as possible what we actually have planned.

3. What are our teams weaknesses and strengths?

Kirby’s thoughts: Strengths: Improvisation? Hah! I think we’re well balanced from a power perspective. I think what will make us stronger is better communication. In battle I think we should try to verbalize our plans, or what we’re thinking, more often. This way our actions can all support each other. We did this really well when we took down the shark, I think. More of that will help – particularly in combat. Outside of combat I think it’s more of the same – communication. The more we talk and share our theories with each other the better we’ll be I think.

4. Who else are we up against?

Kirby’s thoughts: We’re up against the now–waking titans, the other-worldly controlled vampire chick (we haven’t even met yet), slick, whomever captured the last research party (slick?), the government, and time. We can’t forget that the clock is ticking on Orlando’s brother on the moon. Oh – and while I’m thinking about it, we need to be prepared for the god-like powers possessed by whoever has the skull in south America – and pray it’s not Max’s mom.

5. What allies can we depend on?

Kirby’s thoughts: The gods? Maybe?

6.What pieces of the story puzzle can we put together so far? The who's, what's, why's where's and how's.

Kirby’s thoughts: I captured some of this above, not sure what else to add right now.

Taking Max's questions and adding my own thoughts. Maybe we can all to the same to keep this organized?

Max's thoughts: Slick is a poor attempt at cloning. It's more ameba like than anything at it's base cellular structure. Not sure how it's programed with it's knowledge and orders. The one encountered at Orlando's died easily as well. The one's encountered to this point have gone down easily, but what is it's real potential? We shouldn't underestimate this fact with any encounters. Strengths would be until we destroy it's reproductive machinery, slick will keep coming. Don't know if he can jump bodies? Never saw this happen. Need more opinions on this...Gents?

2. Who can we trust and not trust?

Kirby’s thoughts: We cannot trust very many people – probably just our group. We know that who/what we’re up against can take over or influence even well trusted friends – exhibit A: Alex – so we need to be mindful of that. Max's thoughts: Trust everyone, but not the devil inside...LOL! Trust each other. We have the powers now to help ward off mental threats IE mind control. Not sure about the taking over of the soul thing...yet. I don;t we can take to many chances with who we trust. How does one test another regarding trust? Can we put a plan together a S.O.P. for this?

3. What are our teams weaknesses and strengths?

Kirby’s thoughts: Strengths: Improvisation? Hah! I think we’re well balanced from a power perspective. I think what will make us stronger is better communication. The more we talk and share our theories with each other the better we’ll be I think.

Max's thoughts: Diversity and creativity seem to be a great strengths. Agreed that communication is the key to completing the rescue plan and stopping the bad guys. We need to continue finding synergistic connections with our powers and how they can interact with each other, making them stronger. My fear is how will the team do if someone goes down? Power base wise we haven't really faced a team of bad meta-humans or worse. Should we have some set parameters for battle strategies, who does what and when?

Max's thoughts: God's IE Set and his subordinates, including titans. I think other puppets of Set might be the people behind the Illuminati. One thought about our enemies: They know we're coming to south america, so we have very little to no surprise factor. Their captures, our family and friends could've been subjugated to their will. Natives in south america? The skulls? Vampire Queen and Demon father.

5. What allies can we depend on?

Kirby’s thoughts: The gods? Maybe?

Max's thoughts: Poseidon, I think. Shakti and if we can set her free even a greater allie! Cosmic Breed, maybe through Col. Sharpe. The skulls they could be helpful some how. The Rosicrucian Order of the Masons? It's not good when you can count your allies on one hand.

6.What pieces of the story puzzle can we put together so far? The who's, what's, why's where's and how's.

Kirby’s thoughts: I captured some of this above, not sure what else to add right now.

Max's thoughts: What's the reason Set's coming to Earth? Is it the skulls, their power or what they're holding. How many skulls are there? Does Set fear the skulls? Who would have this knowledge, maybe someone Ace knows? Set is bringing forth a NEW AGE, as the shark said. This won't be a 'nice' age. I have a link with Shakti, how can we use that to our advantage? Some type of cosmic energy tracking device sounds nice?  What do our alien friends really know about the skulls and Set's whole story. I think we need to contact them if possible.

Never saw this happen. Need more opinions on this...Gents?

Orlando: I think he has normal vulnerabilities, but some savy espianage stuff.  He's been killed now 3x's by use.  So making him dead for the moment isn't a problem, but his resources are daunting.

2. Who can we trust and not trust?

Kirby’s thoughts: We cannot trust very many people – probably just our group. We know that who/what we’re up against can take over or influence even well trusted friends – exhibit A: Alex – so we need to be mindful of that. Can we put a plan together a S.O.P. for this?

Orlando: So not to sound too preachy, but this world isn't all that Seeker throws at us, it is ours to control as well. We can do what we make of it.  Why did Seeker allow us to create some pretty cool back stories? I say we start using them a little more.  I have had quite a lot of good conversations regarding John's dad, since that was part of my back story, I say we can trust him, and as far as allies, he would be great. The Analecta Arcanum, which I and Aeviternus are members, well I'm a member, someone else is the CEO.  We could trust various members especially being off the grid. We can trust my brother. We can also trust Herman, my friend.  He can get us stuff if need be.  He is off the grid for the most part  and I think our other background people.  I think that could add up to a lot if we needed to.  Also I do think that Sharpe could be used for help, not to trust, but for things.

3. What are our teams weaknesses and strengths?

Kirby’s thoughts: Strengths: Improvisation? Hah! I think we’re well balanced from a power perspective. I think what will make us stronger is better communication. Power base wise we haven't really faced a team of bad meta-humans or worse. Should we have some set parameters for battle strategies, who does what and when?

Orlando: I think our lack of knowing the rules and just winging it.  Ideas are great, dynamics are good.  We are well rounded, but I am not sure if we know our characters super well. Ex. We havn't done much hand to hand combat, and that at somepoint is going to surprise the hell out of us.

One thought about our enemies: They know we're coming to south america, so we have very little to no surprise factor. Their captures, our family and friends could've been subjugated to their will. Natives in south america? The skulls? Vampire Queen and Demon father.

Orlando:Thats what I think too.

Orlando: Most of what I said up above applies here too.

Orlando:  I think there is something powerful about the skulls, and something powerful about souls, and those pieces of the puzzle are close at hand. It seems that back in the day about 10,000BCish that the mythological war of the Titans and Gods really happened, and then something happened to the Gods that got them imprisoned into the skulls and other things.  We didn't actually here from Posiedin if there was a skull involved. There is also an ancient piece of the puzzles with the Aliens and the Gate on the moon, which I think was older than 10000 years, so that piece is still unknown.  I am still trying to figure out how: Gods/Titans, Aliens and Vampires/Demons all go together oh, and don't forget Dragons, Seeker always has Dragons in the Mix.

Re: OOC 3

Aeviternus thoughts:

To Orlando's last point I totally agree: Malcohm, Earl and Saul are not simply a rescue mission; they will play integral roles in what's to come after that task is completed.  There seems to be a recurring theme of unlocking dormant connections to gods or unbridling the power that already exists in us, so on the note of strategy our best bet seems to be to keep learning how we can combine efforts and powers as it keeps the connection thread going.  More truths are likely to be revealed this way when we're not having casual conversations with gods.

Another recurring theme to Slick is command, as if he's a jell-o mould of a gang leader.  Whoever's swinging the lever that presses him out has a need for consistency whenever they have low level missions to exact.  I see him as sort of a hive brain, a very dispensable but useful clone soldier who has the ability to lead thug units.  His other abilities seem so far to lend themselves to this end.

I also really like the idea of utilizing the back stories more, I think Orlando's on to another gem here.  That's the stuff we all wrote, and while Seeker has a vote and a half when it comes to plot points, I agree that we got to write what we wanted (at least mostly) for a reason.  The Anelectines are definitely a resource to tap as well as Max's research team, I'm guessing, or Kirby's family.

As to how it all ties together, my guess is everything is being awoken like the soldiers of an apocalypse.  Somebody's coming to end the whole show, so all the players are making their way to the stage to play their part- our job is just going to be to figure out how to jump from act to act to get to the end while avoiding grotesque dismemberment.  Like the kind dragons are wont to invoke.

Re: OOC 3

In reply to Max Jackson (msg # 146):

What to expect in South America...

Let me first say two things. Three actually.

First, all I know about Guyana is what I’ve been able to glean from the web. I’ve never set foot in what I’ve come to see as quite an interesting country. Therefore all of references should be taken with an amerianized-wikipediazied-googleized grain of salt.

Second, the Guyanese people actually consider themselves Caribbean. Because of the prevalence of English, along with their status as a former British colony, they have strong cultural ties to the rest of the “West Indies”. So while geographically part of South America Guyana is thought to be Caribbean.

Third, and most importantly, what follows is subject to obliteration at the sole discretion of seeker. 

So, what to expect in Guyana? Here are some things the players would know about Kirby’s place of birth based on occasional “down time” conversations or tid-bits offered here and there.

Kirby’s family has a fairly large parcel of land (250 hectors) an hour or so down the dirt “highway” from the nearest major City. How Kirby’s family ended up where they is an old story that varies based on who you ask. Settlers? Escaped servants? Refugees feeing war? Maybe some combination is the truth. Accepted as fact though is that the Kanhai family was there first nearly 200 years aginb and started out with a small farm now called the Madhya. (Madhya is now the center of the larger land plot that has come to be called “the Kanhai Jandhi”; Madhya in hindi is loosely “center place”).

The small farm grew over time. The family hired workers, those workers stayed on the land and had children who grew there too. In time another generation of Kanhai’s and workers took over to repeat the cycle. Over many years the cycle continued and the worker/owner relationship became less distinct. Today everyone is either Uncle, Auntie, Son, Daughter, or Cousin – whether related by blood or not. Everyone works toward the same goal – the prosperity of all of the various ventures (farming, ranching, mining, and more) of the Jandhi. The Kanhai family still owns the land, with much  the profits of the enterprise providing for the needs of the people that live within the Madhya.

Kirby has a deep emotional connection to all of this extended family.

I’ll let your imagination paint the picture of what this all looks like. Hopefully this gives you a bit of the flavor of what you’ll find in Guyana.

Contrary to game beliefand all the crap coming out of the wood work the world hides any extr-ordinary abilities. There are some powerful teams that work in public and it is widely know  About military meta humans. There is a fair amount of subjugation of meta humans in police-states.

The UN has a meta human team and there are public personalities as well. The known amount is not known around the world.

Max's father could be a meta human and he would never have known, potentially.

People hide their powers for many reasons. Kirby pretty much had to be caught masturbatin with his power before his grandfather even talked to him about it.  Kirby wouldn't know the answer as to how many meta humans are in his family other than his american grandfather 's line and even then?

Re: OOC 3

Based on my last post here I have revealed a bit more in the "Background" thread. BTW, I misstated the size of the land. Here it is, posted here for your convenience:

The Kanhai Jandhi

The Kanhai’s have owned their piece of land of roughly 2000 hectares in south-central Guyana for generations. The first Kanhai’s are known to have settled on the land in the late 1830’s and have worked the land ever since. The land, referred to by the locals as the Kanhai Jandhi (loosely translated to Kanhai land claim or holding),  is mixed use with areas set aside for cattle ranching (500 hectares), bauxite mining (100 hectares), sugarcane (700 hectares), rice (250 hectares), timber (400 hectares) and other vegetables (50 hectares). The Jandhi is largely self sustainable.

Like the Kanhai’s there are several other families that make their home on the Kanhai Jandhi. These people are the descendants of the original workers hired by the Kanhai’s over a hundred years ago to work the land – a function they still do to this day. Over time the employee-worker relationship has evolved into something more like family. Kirby as a young lad had over a score of Auntie’s and Uncles; and his own mother was Auntie to more children than she could count.

Re: OOC 3

Not much more than what you guys have. You are pretty stacked and powerful. As an example, "Slick" has only 34 power points. It is really about imagination and how you have used your powers.  The Titan for example was supposed to tank everyone, allowing Posiedon to come in and help.  The battle didn't go at all like I thought, you guys fucked him up. Its all about what you do with what you got.  Hexus doesn't have as many as you think either.  As you will find coming up things lay much more in the realm of problem solving. In D&D for instance, you really have hitpoints, and then some resistances that make it harder for them to be hurt (including armor class).  There is a big difference here in this game.  There is a much wider variance on how and what can be done to take care of enemies.  Very similar to 1st edition D&D. Some things had secret weaknesses (like the Raksasha-blessed bolt). This is more like what is now in the world.  Humans are squishy, the more powerful things are the harder they are to stop.  Take Kirby or Aeviternus-Good luck taking them down, and one on one Xuan is a power dynamo that could go toe to toe with Superman (i'd like to point out Xuan owner doesn't get that yet, but it is still true), and Max and Orlando literally control elements of the cosmos.  One of the only differences between you guys and GODS are that they just know how things work.  They hold secrets of the cosmos.  My job is to get ou guys to understand how the world is really put together, once you start to understand then you will be able to do more than you know.

Your conversation about teamwork, was amazing, and how you took care of the Titan is a fantastic example.  Posiedon alone, couldn't have done that, hell, he didn't even know how to take him down. It is all about knowledge.

By the way, I posted that late last night without a true edit.  I appologize for the typos, I will fix them.  I just couldn't see straight anymore.

I just posted more, game on as Garth would say.  You are all at the house, there are people running around, some live stock running around, the area seems clean and orderly though. It has the feel of a small village well organized with the occasional gravel and dirt road.

The wind is goin about 40-50 mph, and the ran is coming down sideways. The only person ahead of you is the bostonian. The ground is muddy and only slightly cool, about 68 degrees, this is about as cold as it gets here.

Please post at will.

Re: OOC 3

One thing I want to go into as we finalize our wrap up here with powers.

On the topic of new powers (not extensions of powers), they are new and not as developed as your current powers. Therefore they won't be as reliable or strong etc. We have been borrowing from both systems but I think RQII does a good job of balancing new powers that we will use. The Brp has an easy system for super powers that is already is already in place.

For those of us other than Kirby who is straight superpowers we need to understand that our new:
Chi, psionic, magic, spirit power will be at a lower skill rating. So if you have an 80% in all of your powers because of a skill your new powers (remember they are new, not tested, not experienced, but new) will gain a new skill associated with the power(s) that can be leveled up. I am allowing the skill bonuses to also directly effect that new power by the way. So we aren't looking at your new power being at 25%.

RQII has a grouping of spells that are bunched together in a spell book called a grimoire. Each new time a magic user gains new spells they are from a new grimoire that they have to train. So a powerful sorcerer could have 5 different grimoire a at different levels of ability based on how he trains them. Orlando has already gone through this process as he is a sorcerer. Know that not all of his spells are equal. All of his new ones are at 50-65% range.

Are we going to call our powers grimoires...no.  But we should develope new names for our skills that govern our new powers like:
Chi Immolation Skill:, Psychic Sensitive Skill:,  and so forth. The good news is that as we get stronger and advance our skills powers that call in the same family will get to use that skill percentage even if you have pumped the crap out of it.

Only Brand new powers will have new skills associated. I have given everybody 1 at the end of this chapter and I think one last year (which I am letting go and not caring about the skill rating as we were all learning the system. )

This hopefully makes sense to everyone. We shouldn't use our new powers until I have checked everything out so please let me know when you r ready.

As part of this scenario I wanted the stairwell to be non-existant, I made it the bad guys first action.  The stairwell had erupted sort of making it irreparable, so not sure anyone could have don't anything to stop the stairwell from being non functional. Also her presence on the upper banister and then the stairs exploding would have shocked everyone. I also wanted certain npcs out of the first part of the fight.  I don't really want to have to fight myself.  Consider it a part of a cutout scene.

Max, just tell me what you are waiting for to go.  You don't have to include a power, something like, "I will wait until Kirby goes, and then I will follow his lead." Tell me what you are waiting for, or after whom you will go.

Not sure how Seeker would play out a situation where Max put a kinetic field around John to specifically protect him from the witches telekinetic power. Again I think it would come down to a skill checks and so forth.

Does ones chance to roll a critical hit move up as ones skill numbers move up? IE if Maxs Throw skill was 70% that meant his to crit roll was 1-2, when Maxs Throw skill got to 80% his to crit roll became 1-3 and so on. Is this the case excluding these numbers.

I was sort of implying more of a shield around the demon lady, keep her in place, keep her from doing any more TK attacks, not to protect me.

And to just jump in there with Crits, a crit is always 10% of your skill, so yes it does increase when a skill increases.

20% skill - Crit on 1-2% (a roll of 1 or 2 on the d100)
70% skill - Crit on 1-7%
80% skill - Crit on 1-8%
and so on.

Sounds like you may have short changed yourself there previously.

Unfortunately at this point I would say no. It's a new power and I had to plead a heavy case with the Seeker to make this happen with Tibbs.

My future intent for this power is to inter-link the whole team and any guest spots that might be filed with the ability to communicate telepathically as a whole. Just a thought...no pun intended...LOL!

Re: OOC 3

sorry guys, been a little busy.  I have the ability to exorcise this bitch, but I need to get a magic circle around it.  And I need it weakened, I sense that it is really strong, and seeker says it's been in the woman about 3-5 weeks, which means it is considered to have a decent hold on her.  Most of the stuff that I can throw at it might also hurt Kirby's grandma, trying to avoid that.  But, I have some powers to drive it out if we can hold it down and I can get to it.

By the way, the light stairwell I just made will hold anyone during this round, so Aeviternus or anyone could use it, it looks solid, and this was a increase power from a couple of months ago, nothing new, except I haven't been able to use it yet.

Seriously though this creature is trying to get a hold on her and if we can drive it out, that is our best bet.

Aeviternus, can you do any soul warfare on it, that could help a lot if you can distract it.  This thing can attack all of us at once and drop us.  Just so you know, the things with powers are the scariest in this system.  Seeker could attempt with Manipulation, to hit all of us with all sorts of demonic powers.  Unfortunately, I have to touch this bitch at this point to use my power cuz I don't have enough Power Points to manipulate it, lol.  I think seeker planned this shit the whole time, which probably means Aeviternus that he has something planned for you if you try to soul fight it, so well, GO FOR IT !

Outside: JonKae, Max, and Xuan and Gozar the Gozarians
Inside: Orlando, Elsie, Aeviternus, Bostonian, The General, and Elizabeth Grey, along with some scared out of their mind house servants that are freaked out in the back of the house.

Everyone knows, there is something going on outside.  The lightning has just started hitting all over the place and Xuan and Max are out there.

PS-The spirit world has a calm bubble in the house, but beyond that is a horrible storm as well. Not as bad as outside. But it looks a little scary.

Is Ace down? What happened to Johns fire hound? What is JonKae doing? Does the new frost giant seem friend or foe?

Re: OOC 3

Great Question.  JonKae is above you guys about 30 feet or so flying into the storm, on his Turn (he was feeling saucy cuz of your power boost) he was able to launch lightning bolt at the Biggest Hound in the front of the house.  This is the one that did not attack either Ace or Xuan.  The lightning transformed the beast into the glowing being you see, who seems to be made of lightning now.  He is not friendly!

Xuan beast is hurt, but next to him.

Ace's creature is pushing his paw down on Ace's chest, who is laying on his back getting drooled on by fire pooch.

Tiengue-special note.  John=Xuan.  John is his English name.  He has been going by both interchangebly. Ace=Aeviternus. JonKae is Kirby's maternal grandfather.

Just to ensure I'm on the same page:

That sum it up correctly?

If so, to JonKae I say: Please stop helping.

Re: OOC 3

Ace is able to go and then we will be back at the top of the Strike Rank. Ace, you are prone on your back, you can attack from the ground at an additional -20% or you can stand. I will allow anyone who has "Martial Arts" or another Special Fighting style or anyone with an Advanced Skill like Acrobatics, to be able to kip-up and not take a CA just to stand.  But the Kip up will be a part of a move.

You of course will need to roll a skill check to do this.  Athletics is the skill if you have no advanced skill.
So if you have Martial Arts, you would roll Athletics. You need to make your Athletics check and make sure that your roll is under your Martial Arts check as well.

Athletics 50% and Martial Arts at 70% rolls of 51% or higher would fail to kip up.

Kirby and Orlando will be able to go next Strike Rank.  We are still in Round 1, but after Ace goes, you will all be into your 2nd CA.  Orlando and Kirby will be using there 1st CA to move out to the battle.  It will also take the bulk of their movement for this round.

Hi All,

Today I went in and removed the remaining private lines in Kirby's background thread. There are a few "new" entries there now, though I must have written them 2 or more years ago. I kind of got tired of looking at the orange text whenever I re-read Kirby's story, and I think all of what I just uncovered is known (or least would not be secret) to the party.

If you are curious, I made the headings of the revealed sections dark green.

Thanks

Re: OOC 3

So I made a roll for everyone, it is a perception roll, and it s a 26.  So if you made the roll you aren't surprised and get to defend.  I made this roll for two reasons, when there is someone trying to hide for example it doesn't make sense for you to know about that unless you see them.  And in combat situations, I don't expect you to actively use a perception skill to burn a CA, so it is more of a passive perception that you use in combat.  for that I wanted to do a general roll.  Please take into account, that you have a -30 to this roll, which shrinks your actual skill ability.  So if you have a 60 perception, you would subtract 30 from your skill giving you a 30 skill.  So a 26 roll would be a success. Now I am taking away -20, so we are only at a -10 for this surprise.

Sorry to be so complicated I just want you to know the methodolgy.

There are two beasts on top of the house pouncing down on the group.  They light up in flame as they attack and growl pretty loud. this takes away part of the circumstantial negatives that are in place.  so we are only at a -10 for this attack. If you succeed then you can react.  I will describe my attack in a moment.  Please let me know if you have any questions.
Max-1
Ace-2
Xuan-3
Kirby-4.
JonKae-5 (they could technically jump out and get him too, and that would suck)
My choice-6 and I'm telling you right now I'll choose Xuan cuz I feel like trying bite his ass right now, the little ninja fucker! No just kidding, a 6 roll will mean that the creature jumps down and goes through a window into the house where Orlando would have to face it.  so I'll roll 2 d 6s.  I hope I roll double 6s.  That would be funny, in a morbid sort of way.

I think with all those negatives Kirby still notices the fire dogs. I was a little confused by the -30 then -10 talk though.

Kirby's got a 78 so I think he notices them either way.

Re: OOC 3

Sorry, for confusion. During this battle there is a -30% modifier (darkness and storm)

The dogs aren't trying to hide, so you don't have to roll against their skill. They just happen to be in a vantage point that's hard to spot. As they growl and light up they help everyone's perception reducing your negative modifier in this case.

Everyone to spot them only has a -10 modifier.

Kirby will succeed.

Re: OOC 3

Ah yes a roll of a 6 on a skill of an 85 is a crit.  Please excuse that due to time and rust.  So there are two things here. The creature did not attempt any defensive action.  So that is a level of success, so that is 1 combat maneuver for a successful hit.  Now the crit range, gives you another level of success, so that would be two combat maneuvers...AND you get to choose the combat maneuvers that fall under Critical success only (which are better combat maneuvers)

Also his change to metal/flame is an automatic action for the creature, which he did not take a combat action with.  I would also like to add that using skill in combat can be extremely usefull.  Like using knowledges, perception and other skills.  This is a game where not all creatures just have HP and go down at ZERO. An example would be a flaming demon, who might only take damage with holy water (no matter how magically chi infused your weapon is) Knowledges and other skills can clue you in to these types of things.

As the game gets farther along and we leave the realm of "normal" and enter the world of the exceptional keep this in mind.

Re: OOC 3

I've edited my last post, please read again.

You all are  at Poppi JonKae's house. Orlando is at the upstairs window just having shot the last fire beast. Xuan has been knocked into the the front room of the house through the outer wall. He will need to engage when he's ready. Max is in the front yard getting up, not within melee range of the beast but close enough that a move action would get him there.  Kirby is close to the house by the spigot, he is out of hand to hand range, but could get to the giant with a move action. Ace is in Long range with the beast.  This is whips, polearm and large weapon range.  The metaloid giant, who turned from lightning to metal, looks as if he is big enough to also be in this range catagory. (meta-gaming a bit for you). He has been tripped and entagled and laying on his back in the weak sauce mud:)

Poppi J is out of sight, and there are still quite a few older type people back in the house. And I am at my house at 4 in the morning trying to sleep and had nothing to do but rolepole.

Anyone, please let me know if you need any specific information or need clarification on anything. Passive looking around to give your character ideas with terrain and scene is free, we can also do specific checks if you want to use a skill.

Re: OOC 3

Ok, so this guy is way strong, he is being pinned down, by Kirby adding to the difficulty to his actions and he is wrapped up in the legs and on his back. It is his go. He is not attempting to get up, but instead attempting to pull at the chain of his captor to break free. Being on the ground is -20, and kirby's action adds another -20 to his break free attempt.  Ace he is going to attempt an escape action and pull the chain from your grip. I will make a brawn check against your brawn check if you choose to oppose me. Your choice is to oppose me trying to break free or not.  If you let go of the chain then I can break free or you can hold on to keep me down and off my feet. In this case I will make a secret roll so that you don't know how well I have rolled until you choose your action, upon which I will copy my secret roll into the post so you can see what it was. This is to avoid, me potentiall rolling a crit and having a player say, well I can't beat that so I just let go.But in the end everyone will see the contested rolls.

Ace decide how you want to deal with this situation and make a roll if you choose to hold on to the chain, or really the handle of your weapon.

On another note, and I bring this up becuase this guy is a Hulk Smash type of character, we haven't discussed special weapon properties as far as durability.  This world is a Super Hero world where there are many types of weapons and purposes for weapons.  It is not a D&D world where all magic weapons are pretty much invulnerable.  This is not the case in a more Super Hero based world.  The best way is to think of the purpose of a weapon, Captain America's shield, Wolverines Claws, Wonder Woman's Lasso. These are all weapons that are created for the purpose of being unbreakable for the most part.  These types of weapons are going to be much more durable.  So as for the parties special items, I would say that Orlando's cross and Max's crystal are on the very suseptable to regular damage catagory. Kirby has no item. Ace and Xuan have weapons, which I would defenitely put on the more durable catagory, but not in the unbreakable catagory.  I am not trying to break a weapon here, I just want us to all to understand this aspect of the game. Since this is a Hulk Smash type of character be aware that we could have some Sunder CA applications. And if you hurt him enough with a weapon he might choose to try and break that weapon.

Seeker - for timing purposes, if I Ace decided to let go of the chain that is Kirby's intention: hero point, then acceletrate/guide the shit out of that chain right into the thing's cranium.

Re: OOC 3

To answer a whole bunch of things here:

Max asked if he could use some skills to help get info to stop the creature, like occult lore and perception.  I said yes, PLUS, if you want to use a skill and also use context clues from other players (like what Orlando and Ace) had already said about the creature, that will help your chances.  This is for future reference.  All you have to do is phrase the idea in your post.  Even if you use a skill it can still be described in your post when it is your action.

2nd-the collaboration part here of Ace and Kirby is good.  Often the idea, and just like this, pop up during battle, and often mechanical initiative gets in the way, just like now.  The way to do it is to communicate in game with characters to your intent, take a moment or hero point to align and set up your said collaboration.  "Hey Ace, on my mark let go." type of thing.  Working together is a great way to stay alive.  Just remember that often team work has to be set up, which means you might need to take some extra steps to make it happen in the order/initiative of the game.

3rd-The creatures turn was to escape the chains. JonKae has now gone (all though you guys wouldn't know what he is doing,  cuz you can't see him). It is now Kirby's turn (with hero point used, and keep track of Actions)

4th-After Kirby goes it will be Max, Orlando, Ace and Xuan all at once if you have enough actions.

Re: OOC 3

If were on the forth action this round than Max is done for this round. Sense Max only has three actions per round.

I read through the posts and found what Ace and Tibbs said out loud about the creature and it's possible weaknesses. Face (head) in regards to the skin. This creature is doing some powerful elemental trickery without even damaging his own skin in the process. Great trick at least how Max see's it!

Funny thing about elements. The opposite of one element or a combination of the other three elements often does the most damage to said element in play.

many of you have powers that increase stuff.  Everyone except ACE,  well he does, its just way different.  It is using a power to enhance your self.  There are traits or stats when pumped up with power change hit points, attack, skill usage, damage, number of attacks etc.

Tsunami uses chi and chakra manipulation to move and gain more power.

3. Do I really need to watch the whole 2 hrs to get the theory of Everything, cuz up until minute 14 I don't think I had learned anything.

That being said, I am down with the crazy theorist types, I don't think you can be brilliant and sane at the same time. I'm just saying dude is tripping me out a bit (and he needs some help with transitions, both on an editing standpoint and presentation).

Help me out here, what is he getting at, what is his breakthrough concept?

LMAO...no you don't have to watch it all. His main premise is that the creationist theory can be proven through the total impossibility of randomness being able to occur. I really liked his verbal debates against evolutionary theory's...that one killed me, but it's much later in the movie.

What did you think about his mathematical thoughts of randomness and it's odd's of happening?

In one fell swoop the chained weapon of Aeviternus slices through all four chains on the hulking creature, "Schnick, schnick, schnick, schnick," the sound happening in rapid fire. The creature seemed to be free of the strange torture device.

The creature took a step, feeling the strain loosen on his neck, he reached up with both hands and ripped the fleshy mask from his face. Each hand came away with a tatered crumple of leathery parchment.

The creature looked around suddenly as if coming from a stupor, then proceeded to fall face first in the mud, his head landing at the foot of Kirby and Max.

As if coincidence, the clouds broke with a crack, and almost all of the wind completely died down. Kirby's pappa landed a heartbeat later and collapsed on the steps of what was left of his house's porch.

I'd like to move things forward, and start on the next part of the story. Please send me a PM of what you would like to accomplish in the next three days of game play.  Feel free to talk in game and interact. Here are some questions and answers for you to save time:

1. The creature does not wake up, but continues to sleep
2. The evil spirit inside Eh-eh, is gone, but an evil still lurks keeping her from waking up.
3. Everyone gets sleep in the house and is fully rested the next day as far as power points.  Your nerves and stress level are another thing. Everyone is still on Edge.
4. Poppa John Kae wakes up the next day, but stays in bed.  He is able to talk to anyone.
5. Jahndi workers repair the house, the next few days.
6. Many hands stop by to check on the family and drop off flowers, milk, soups, and want to say thank you to Poppa John Kae.  You all get the sense that they feel he stopped the storm (as usual), and they are worried about his health.
7. The other group of people, The Bostonian, Elsie and Kirby's grandfather "The General" also stay and are available for communications.
8. Elsie is able to discern that the evil plaguing Kirby's grandmother Eh-eh, seems to be tied to the land's sickness. But this is all she can say.

Re: OOC 3

Tiengue is another character, more of a lurker, and not to be messed with.  He can rain down death and dismemberment at the sound of a crickets fart.

Thank you for making this awkward, I thought you might have been mistaking the name.  Its all those asians, they look alike.
(that is a joke Heimdall)

We are a group of folks whom I have known for many many years in Real Life and because of that have had the luxury of allowing our sense of humor to grow( and warp) over the years.  Please dont take anything personal in this game.

I wanted to through out a few qualifiers, first and foremost is that this game's purpose is to tell a story, not play a game. This is secondary. We are not rules lawyers here, so at times for the sake of the scene/story you might seen some stretch of mechanics.
I hope that is ok with you.  Please let me know in a PM or OCC is something seems off or confusing. It will probably be Xuan's fault or Orlando's but rarely my fault :).

The next is that our characters are fairly powerful, and descriptions of powers whether in the book or on your sheet are guidelines.  In a traditional rpg game, players focus on leveling up, which we do here, but it is not the focus of the game. And at times leveling might seem individual.  I am more interested in having the story unfold the powers, and as such our powers and increases of them will make sense with in the story.

As a stupid example if we are swimming in the amazon  lakes you wouldn't develop a "fire" based power when you have a chance to level up. I hope this makes sense.  I am trying to make this very organic.

The last is that, player interaction is vital, and should be in the forefront of posts. This is not a character to Gm back to character ...next turn type of game. We do pay attention to post rates, but if you are in the middle of a conversation with a character then posting at will is expected.  The characters are really driving this game, and have quite a bit of freedom to create the scene.

Ok...now I have to start rereading myself to prepare. (oh, and make sure your grammar is correct, Aviternus hates it when we write like 5th graders)

Ok, so the dice roller likes black folks, good to know. Sorry Xuan.  Both my skills works, as far as I know. Together with Xuan we will "forge the one true Chain" and shackle this thing to the tractor. I am also assuming this big beast of a thing could stand up and carry the tractor away, but the chains will stay in tact.

Re: OOC 3

ok, good news and bad news.  YOur influence roll is a failure, bad news. Good news, in a situation like this you shouldn't know the affect of your roll, so I rolled for you secretely. You would never know right away if you are influencial of not. it would take quite a bit of conversation to pan out the success or not.

Also a character when trying to influence someone would continue on regardless, so its better not to know, failing a roll typically influences what and how you would say something in game.

So please Xuan Wu continue on with your dialogue as if you are being influencial.

Re: OOC 3

question for you lads, how do you want to procede at this next juncture. We are ending a little chapter here and can go in a couple of directions.

1. is do you want Tiengue to accompany you? He does know where their hideout is, but you just kind of promised to get him freedom.

2. do you want to play out the exorcism? We can skip it if you plan on setting tiengue free to do what ever or we should play it if you want to include him.

3. Do you guys have any questions that you would like answered or things cleared up.

4. Some quest topics:

a. Save Xuan's mother and group that is kidnapped
b. Get help to Malcomn/earl on the moon
c. Save Kirby's grandparents from control
d. find mysterious men from Ace's spirit walk
e. find hideout of Demon clan

Re: OOC 3

1. Is Tiengue a player and, if so, is the idea for him to join us?  If he's an NPC, I'm ambivalent.  I feel confident we would've attempted for his freedom regardless.
2. I'm interested in moving the story along, if that means playing it out or skipping it I'm on board either way.
3. I would actually be interested in the GM's take on questions 1 and 2, for starters.
4. That's a lot of shit to do.  Admittedly I've been going with the flow up to now and considering the many opinions at stake, Aeviternus would probably consider it all to be relevant.  Not sure how that would be different at this juncture except for the items that seem less about world and universe like family-specific topics (a and c, for instance) could seem less pressing to a guy trying to save mankind.

Re: OOC 3

Happy St Patty's Day all!

I'd have to agree with Ace on this one, or most points.

Xuan's interest in Tiengue would firstly be to release him from the grip of the DC. Of course he'd like him to accompany the party to the hideout as extra artillery, but wouldn't expect it. Having done his duty to help in the fight against of the DC, Xuan has no ulterior motives or ultimatums that would impinge on Tiengue.

Happy to get the FF version of the exorcism. I have no overwhelming desire to fuddle my way through, but happy to play along if it adds to story.

The order of mission importance for Xuan would be:

1. E - DC should be confronted and pummelled. As Xuan believes that this can possibly help resolve quest C, he's happy to go hunting.

2. A - Once the immediate threat is under control, Xuan wants his mummy back, pronto. He's not so selfish to suggest doing this first, even though it's been a constant consideration.

3.  B - The moon stuff seems like a distant thought. See what I did there? A distant thought...

4. D - Considering Xuan doesn't even know about any men from the spirit walk, it isn't a priority. It could go up 2 places once Ace makes it public knowledge.

Re: OOC 3

Tiengue is not a player character, he has been a npc  from the start of posts. Not concept, that was a pc's idea, but he went on tour and hadn't had time to play.

The story can be forwarded without the exorcism which is why I asked. It would bring an element of the game. I might write a short story on it so it's covered, which you could treat a applicable knowledge.

Moving forward was the idea for me, as you two are together getting you forward and on your own is my goal.  The exorcism would require current pcs and noc's to do the task, so for me not as important. However just skipping it feels like a cheat in the story.

I feel that all of the items I listed are pertinent, part of me listing them was to give a quick reminder in your "quest log".

The hardest one to accomplish would be Malcolm's thing.

The other quests can be accomplished concurrently and it's important to have the motivation in your mind.  Malcolm's quest will take a little more active work, but for the story you could leave the other players to work on that. It would be ok if you did. I just didn't want to feel sloppy letting a important part go.

Re: OOC 3

Now knowing that Xuan's mother, Kirby's grandmother, the mysterious spirit walk men and the Demon Clan can all be handled concurrently, then I like the idea of tasking the others to Malcohm's plight for now and setting off the two of us.

On that note, it seems more realistic (as in terms of real life, not game life) to skip the exorcism in order to go ahead and get that forward movement since playing it out would involve so many missing pieces.

So concludes my opinion.

And congratulations on the new place!

You notice that Tiengue, doesn't really look Chinese, much more of a mix, Chinese and Russian? His skin also seems to be different, not that he's been cleaned up a bit and not trying to kill you. His chin or rather the chisels of his features are rock like, and his hair seems to blow and move like tall stalked grass, or reeds.

There is a chance for you to roll some skill checks if you choose to help with the post, or not.  go a head and post the rolls in the ooc thread.

In reply to Aeviternus (msg # 571):

After Tiengue said what he said, it pretty much throws you a curve ball with his origin/ethnicity.  after your roll you put his lineage somewhere close to the ottoman/turk/Palestinian or Very Egyptian/northern african circa 1000BC. You feel that further study inside a museum would probably be necessary to analyze anything further.  You need reference material at this point.

As for you and Xuan, not a clue. Bad role, and of course, the story line hinges on this info being found out. Its a little hard to figure out with any amount of knowledge you would have accumulated.

I tried answering your other questions within my posts.

Is the first reply in the wrong location for the thread, is he doubling back to a previous line of questions without notice like a crazy person or is this just a weird posting hiccup?

the fire is about 50 meters/yards or so directly in your path. Tiengue is missing, no sign of him, and I mean sign as in tracking sign. I have made some secret rolls for you guys, and I'm giving you information based on rolls.

I pause here for you to come up with a plan at this point. Use in character dialogue to work on a plan, use skills, use imagination, use powers.
