Re: OOC 3

As we wait on Xuan, is there anything that anyone wanted to do, or talk about. This particular person is a former acquaintance of Dave's and has some specific powers with Travel, it is most disconcerting to some.

I am also moving us to the next part of our story, and not jacking anyone, contrary to popular belief, the ride will be over momentarily.

This is the end of the first Chapter.  yes the whole first Chapter.  You guys, rock, loved all of your play.

Everyone gets 5 improvement rolls.

1 power increase

1 New power purchase

3 Hero Points (everyone is available to start looking for Heroic Abilities)

Everyone gets one Stat increase at a +1.

This in effect is a major increase.

If you want to discuss stuff do it here for the moment, strategize, get your bearings.  you are about to land on Kirby's home in Guyana, and start the rescue mission of Xuan's mother and search for Crystal Skull. Chapter 2 I will create a new thread once Xuan has posted.

The improvement rolls can be used on the Skill that the power uses.  You can't however convert skill improvements into buying powers, the skill improvements are for skill improvements.

I'm lost as far as what's been given out as XP rewards over the last couple months. I know we were rewarded prior to this, but I don't recall cashing in on that reward as far as rolling new numbers.

Please let me know if I'm incorrect and thank you!

Re: OOC 3

I am very excited about Kirby's new power. I will not give it away, to be revealed. In game, but I am stoked.

Now on to strategy. Let's try not to kill any locals. Who know's what what Seeker has in store for us when we get there. That said, the plan would be to spend 2, maybe 3, days at "base camp" before setting out. There should probably be locals - whom Kirby would consider family - familiar with where we want to go. We're fortunate that we should be WAY ahead of any reasonable travel schedule. The government, and other people on our tail (except slick?) should think we're many thousand miles away from where we'll be.

We'll see, of course, but get ready for the Caribbean charm of Guyana!

Re: OOC 3

I think we also need to have a re-accounting of events. See if we're missing anything important and then lead into a good brain storming e=session, plan of attack in getting Sue and team members back.

Some things to think about.

1. What do we know about 'slick'? Weaknesses, strengths.

2. Who can we trust and not trust?

3. What are our teams weaknesses and strengths?

4. Who else are we up against?

5. What allies can we depend on?

6.What pieces of the story puzzle can we put together so far? The who's, what's, why's where's and how's.

Re: OOC 3

This is what Max has done thus far with is increases:

1. A plus 1 to his intel, which has increased 90% of his skills by 1 or 2.

2. Will increase his telekinetic power by one to level 4.

3. Suggested a new power to Seeker.

Any ideas for a new Max power? Let me know.

Is Extra Energy a SKILL? If so can it be increased? In what book can I read up on Extra Energy?

Kirby upgraded DEX, which helped a lot of his skills and gave him a plus to strike rank.

Also, Kirby raised his Kenetic Manipulation a level. In addition to slight damage and range increases to thrown/fired items - he can now affect things just over 90 degrees. Yes, he can now shoot around corners. :)

I'll keep the new power to myself for the time being.

Max,I'll take a stab at your questions above at some point tomorrow.

Re: OOC 3

In reply to Max Jackson (msg # 133):

Taking Max's questions and adding my own thoughts. Maybe we can all to the same to keep this organized?

1. What do we know about 'slick'? Weaknesses, strengths.

Kirby’s thoughts: When he dies he turns to mush? Is that a weakness? I think he’s likely a body-jumper or something. In his fight with Kirby he moved fairly quickly, seemed nimble/acrobatic, but really only fought with a gun. Kirby dropped him with one bullet, albeit a super-charged one, and he became mush. The body was no longer needed? Perhaps the body-jumping ability is what allowed to appear to be in multiple places at once.

2. Who can we trust and not trust?

Kirby’s thoughts: We cannot trust very many people – probably just our group. We know that who/what we’re up against can take over or influence even well trusted friends – exhibit A: Alex – so we need to be mindful of that. Further, the Coast Guard finding us so quickly, and with the level of presumed hostility, should raise further concerns about the US government (moles or otherwise). However, I don’t think we’ll be successful if we don’t trust anyone. We sort of have to play it by ear – and tell as few people as possible what we actually have planned.

3. What are our teams weaknesses and strengths?

Kirby’s thoughts: Strengths: Improvisation? Hah! I think we’re well balanced from a power perspective. I think what will make us stronger is better communication. In battle I think we should try to verbalize our plans, or what we’re thinking, more often. This way our actions can all support each other. We did this really well when we took down the shark, I think. More of that will help – particularly in combat. Outside of combat I think it’s more of the same – communication. The more we talk and share our theories with each other the better we’ll be I think.

4. Who else are we up against?

Kirby’s thoughts: We’re up against the now–waking titans, the other-worldly controlled vampire chick (we haven’t even met yet), slick, whomever captured the last research party (slick?), the government, and time. We can’t forget that the clock is ticking on Orlando’s brother on the moon. Oh – and while I’m thinking about it, we need to be prepared for the god-like powers possessed by whoever has the skull in south America – and pray it’s not Max’s mom.

5. What allies can we depend on?

Kirby’s thoughts: The gods? Maybe?

6.What pieces of the story puzzle can we put together so far? The who's, what's, why's where's and how's.

Kirby’s thoughts: I captured some of this above, not sure what else to add right now.

The body was no longer needed? Perhaps the body-jumping ability is what allowed to appear to be in multiple places at once.

Max's thoughts: Slick is a poor attempt at cloning. It's more ameba like than anything at it's base cellular structure. Not sure how it's programed with it's knowledge and orders. The one encountered at Orlando's died easily as well. The one's encountered to this point have gone down easily, but what is it's real potential? We shouldn't underestimate this fact with any encounters. Strengths would be until we destroy it's reproductive machinery, slick will keep coming. Don't know if he can jump bodies? Never saw this happen. Need more opinions on this...Gents?

Max's thoughts: Trust everyone, but not the devil inside...LOL! Trust each other. We have the powers now to help ward off mental threats IE mind control. Not sure about the taking over of the soul thing...yet. I don;t we can take to many chances with who we trust. How does one test another regarding trust? Can we put a plan together a S.O.P. for this?

Max's thoughts: Diversity and creativity seem to be a great strengths. Agreed that communication is the key to completing the rescue plan and stopping the bad guys. We need to continue finding synergistic connections with our powers and how they can interact with each other, making them stronger. My fear is how will the team do if someone goes down? Power base wise we haven't really faced a team of bad meta-humans or worse. Should we have some set parameters for battle strategies, who does what and when?

Max's thoughts: God's IE Set and his subordinates, including titans. I think other puppets of Set might be the people behind the Illuminati. One thought about our enemies: They know we're coming to south america, so we have very little to no surprise factor. Their captures, our family and friends could've been subjugated to their will. Natives in south america? The skulls? Vampire Queen and Demon father.

5. What allies can we depend on?

Kirby’s thoughts: The gods? Maybe?

Max's thoughts: Poseidon, I think. Shakti and if we can set her free even a greater allie! Cosmic Breed, maybe through Col. Sharpe. The skulls they could be helpful some how. The Rosicrucian Order of the Masons? It's not good when you can count your allies on one hand.

6.What pieces of the story puzzle can we put together so far? The who's, what's, why's where's and how's.

Kirby’s thoughts: I captured some of this above, not sure what else to add right now.

Max's thoughts: What's the reason Set's coming to Earth? Is it the skulls, their power or what they're holding. How many skulls are there? Does Set fear the skulls? Who would have this knowledge, maybe someone Ace knows? Set is bringing forth a NEW AGE, as the shark said. This won't be a 'nice' age. I have a link with Shakti, how can we use that to our advantage? Some type of cosmic energy tracking device sounds nice?  What do our alien friends really know about the skulls and Set's whole story. I think we need to contact them if possible.

Orlando: I think he has normal vulnerabilities, but some savy espianage stuff.  He's been killed now 3x's by use.  So making him dead for the moment isn't a problem, but his resources are daunting.

2. Who can we trust and not trust?

Kirby’s thoughts: We cannot trust very many people – probably just our group. We know that who/what we’re up against can take over or influence even well trusted friends – exhibit A: Alex – so we need to be mindful of that. Can we put a plan together a S.O.P. for this?

Orlando: So not to sound too preachy, but this world isn't all that Seeker throws at us, it is ours to control as well. We can do what we make of it.  Why did Seeker allow us to create some pretty cool back stories? I say we start using them a little more.  I have had quite a lot of good conversations regarding John's dad, since that was part of my back story, I say we can trust him, and as far as allies, he would be great. The Analecta Arcanum, which I and Aeviternus are members, well I'm a member, someone else is the CEO.  We could trust various members especially being off the grid. We can trust my brother. We can also trust Herman, my friend.  He can get us stuff if need be.  He is off the grid for the most part  and I think our other background people.  I think that could add up to a lot if we needed to.  Also I do think that Sharpe could be used for help, not to trust, but for things.

3. What are our teams weaknesses and strengths?

Kirby’s thoughts: Strengths: Improvisation? Hah! I think we’re well balanced from a power perspective. I think what will make us stronger is better communication. Power base wise we haven't really faced a team of bad meta-humans or worse. Should we have some set parameters for battle strategies, who does what and when?

Orlando: I think our lack of knowing the rules and just winging it.  Ideas are great, dynamics are good.  We are well rounded, but I am not sure if we know our characters super well. Ex. We havn't done much hand to hand combat, and that at somepoint is going to surprise the hell out of us.

Natives in south america? The skulls? Vampire Queen and Demon father.

Orlando:Thats what I think too.

Orlando: Most of what I said up above applies here too.

Orlando:  I think there is something powerful about the skulls, and something powerful about souls, and those pieces of the puzzle are close at hand. It seems that back in the day about 10,000BCish that the mythological war of the Titans and Gods really happened, and then something happened to the Gods that got them imprisoned into the skulls and other things.  We didn't actually here from Posiedin if there was a skull involved. There is also an ancient piece of the puzzles with the Aliens and the Gate on the moon, which I think was older than 10000 years, so that piece is still unknown.  I am still trying to figure out how: Gods/Titans, Aliens and Vampires/Demons all go together oh, and don't forget Dragons, Seeker always has Dragons in the Mix.

Re: OOC 3

Aeviternus thoughts:

To Orlando's last point I totally agree: Malcohm, Earl and Saul are not simply a rescue mission; they will play integral roles in what's to come after that task is completed.  There seems to be a recurring theme of unlocking dormant connections to gods or unbridling the power that already exists in us, so on the note of strategy our best bet seems to be to keep learning how we can combine efforts and powers as it keeps the connection thread going.  More truths are likely to be revealed this way when we're not having casual conversations with gods.

Another recurring theme to Slick is command, as if he's a jell-o mould of a gang leader.  Whoever's swinging the lever that presses him out has a need for consistency whenever they have low level missions to exact.  I see him as sort of a hive brain, a very dispensable but useful clone soldier who has the ability to lead thug units.  His other abilities seem so far to lend themselves to this end.

I also really like the idea of utilizing the back stories more, I think Orlando's on to another gem here.  That's the stuff we all wrote, and while Seeker has a vote and a half when it comes to plot points, I agree that we got to write what we wanted (at least mostly) for a reason.  The Anelectines are definitely a resource to tap as well as Max's research team, I'm guessing, or Kirby's family.

As to how it all ties together, my guess is everything is being awoken like the soldiers of an apocalypse.  Somebody's coming to end the whole show, so all the players are making their way to the stage to play their part- our job is just going to be to figure out how to jump from act to act to get to the end while avoiding grotesque dismemberment.  Like the kind dragons are wont to invoke.
