IC Warhammer world using Pathfinder

Would anyone be interested in playing in the Warhammer world, possibly the Enemy Within, but using Pathfinder rules?

I would be using Early Firearms. May limit some classes to fit the setting. Thinking starting level about 2 or 3, depending on what you guys think.

I think warhammer fantasy will have a very limited functional option at anything less than 5th level for pathfinder.  Even the generic troops are at least 3rd level equivalent.   The champions don't start to match up until at least 7, most of them are 12+.

Playing mid level also helps make firearms less problematic as they just don't fit in a low level game.

I would be ok to start with 6th level. How do you feel about e6?

I think I disagree - I think that operating above level 5 really cuts down on the mortality of the characters, especially in the face of "lesser" creatures like Orcs and Skaven.

D20's mid- and high levels might be appropriate for the setting's truly epic characters - post Omnibus 1 Gotrek and Felix, Collegiate War Mages, any of the assorted Elf Bros, or Deathmaster Sniktch - but for playing an average or above-average inhabitant of the world, I don't think d20 has a nuanced enough low level system to really capture it.

In reply to GreyGriffin (msg # 4):

You could easily still set the NPCs at 1st level, just ignore the starting wealth and decide what they'd normally be issued.

It's not about the NPCs, it's about the PCs.  After a certain level, you just scale out of being threatened by vast swathes of the dangerous parts of the Warhammer Fantasy setting.  Which is fine if everyone wants to play Valten or Teclis, but leaves a lot of the engagement in the atmosphere and world-building behind the Warhammer world on the table.

I agree with you in part. I think the issues start arising after level 6, that is why I suggest e6 if we start that high.

Sorry, let me clarify. I've noticed that by taking magic, particularly area effect spells out of the equation, that you blunt quite a bit of the available firepower.  Which is when equipment becomes more important as an equalizer.

As an example: a sixth level fighter is only going to be making two (or three) attacks at a time.   A sixth level wizard can attack as many as he can fit into the area effect of a fireball.

No, I'm not trying to discourage you in any way.  I think it would be an interesting twist, though one that's going to require a bit of thought in terms of balancing by the GM.  You can also take a look at the Traveller d20 rules for additional ideas.
