What is a better name for the Dragonborn race?

Pardon if this topic is a beaten dead horse but I'm slowly getting back to D&D and seeing that unintended Skyrim reference never fails to jar me out of immersion.

Considered 'Dragonkin' before finding out it's a World of Warcraft term.

Dragonian seems reasonable and I don't mind the Dragonlance nostalgia but it's a bit too generic.

What is a better name for the Dragonborn race?

I'm partial to Scalebound myself.

Not having played Skyrim myself, I don't have those issues, but what about... Drakeborn or Drakelings?

What is a better name for the Dragonborn race?

Setting aside the question of which came first Skyrim or Dragonborn there are several options.

Draconian is always good, Dragonkin, Dragonkith, Dragonwrought (generally kobold only), good old Half Dragon (actual fraction fraction not important)

Anything with Drake replacement works but is problematic if you want the link to still be to dragons not drakes as D&D differentiates the two.

Scalebound was a canceled Xbone game

Dragonlings?
Dragonmen?
Lizardmen taking on airs?

I'd go for Dragonmen, myself, if I was looking for a new name. It works for Lizardmen, after all.

In reply to AviK80 (msg # 5):

Indeed it was, and I'm shamelessly acquisitioning the name for my own use.

I'm liking Draconian spelled with a C in the middle. Generic but at the same time evokes the feeling of a brutal militant culture like Sparta.

Draconians however are a specific D&D race belonging to Krynn. (Bozak, Baaz, Aurak, Kopak)

Probably better to use the 3.x designation of Half-Dragons. I mean everyone and their dog wanted to be half dragon at one point so I guess that's why Wizards eventually made the Dragonborn race so you didn't deal with a +4 LA.

Re: What is a better name for the Dragonborn race?

A Half-Dragon is already a separate thing in 5E. They are in the Monster Manual and there is even a template for making Half-Dragons of different races and reference to someone being able to become a Half-Dragon through certain means, so it probably isn't a good fit for replacing Dragonborn.
