PF1 - Into the Primitive

Rules-wise, this would be P6, the Pathfinder variant of E6 (or Epic 6), in which character level and skills and hp and all cap out at 6th level, but you can continue to get "epic feats", some of which open up the limited use of a higher level character ability/spell option. Just Google "P6 Pathfinder pdf" for a larger look.

This keeps things a bit gritty. Which I think suits the setting, since it is...

Primitive. Amidst wild jungle and wide plains, different tribes of humanoids dwell with only the barest of agriculture, no towns, no written language. The vast majority of weapons are made of wood, stone, bone or obsidian. The only domesticated animals are dogs.

And so forth.

Races would be limited to core and lizard-folk (though I might find a couple more I can justify fitting in the setting).
Disallowed classes would be any reliant on spellbooks (wizard, et al.) and any obviously medieval class (gunslinger, alchemist, swashbuckler). Some classes just might only need a change in flavor.
Otherwise, would allow core, base, hybrid and occult classes.

Any interest or feedback?

PF1 - Into the Primitive

Neat concept Veymundr.

Were you envisioning an "Adventure Path" style Campaign? Or more of a sandbox?

Would characters be from the same tribe? Or a collection of different tribes?

You mentioned that the game would be "gritty" which is great, but where would the focus lie? Classic adventuring for experience and resources? Tribal interaction and politics? Survival?

Thanks.

PF1 - Into the Primitive

Would the game start at level one? Would Grippli and/or Nagaji be optional race options?  Sounds like survival and exploration may be the focus, but I too would like to know why the initial party forms.

I have an uber-plot in mind, but it'll come up whenever it comes up. Otherwise, the game will focus on exploration and discovery. So, yes, more sandbox-y. With definitely room for other stuff like tribal politics, if that's where players want to put some of their energy.

Characters coming together from different tribes gives players the most latitude in choosing what they wanna play. In terms of backstory, the various characters would have cooperated to [avert some disaster or such] and realized they could work together.

Will definitely start at 2nd level, maybe 3rd level. Need to sleep on it.

The origins of those races would be as mysterious as any of the others, but, yes, I would allow either.

Re: PF1 - Into the Primitive

Well it sounds interesting.

How many players were you looking for this sort of game?

In reply to Anachronist (msg # 5):

I figure four. Though could run with three.

Re: PF1 - Into the Primitive

Ok, closing this thread.

This is the link to the game.

I still have to fill out the setting thread, but there should be enough there to at least apply. The game introduction gives a general broad overview.

I'm going to wait a couple days before advertising the game, so that those who have already shown interest get a crack first.

Oops, I didn't mean to bump. Honestly.
