Interest Check: Rogue Trader / Savage Worlds
Rogue Trader is an RPG I utterly love, but the Fantasy Flight system really does not work for me. So I’ve been working on-and-off on a conversion of the game to Savage Worlds. I’d appreciate some people to help me playtest it and give feedback--and enjoy a game of Rogue Trader at the same time, of course!
Here's the essence of it, apart from converting numbers across:
--Templates to emulate the careers of the original game, with advancements that start characters at Veteran level.
--Some new edges and Arcane Backgrounds.
--A ship combat system based on the original game and Battlefleet Gothic, hopefully allowing for a high degree of ship customisation, and keeping the co-op nature of ship combat.
--Dynasty construction rules where players split points between their ship, funds, reputation and gear.
--A dynasty management system that hopefully provides a simple way for PC's to use the prestige of their dynasty and gain funds for use on each enterprise.
The premise would be the PC's venturing into the Expanse to reclaim a long-lost colony that once belonged to their dynasty. If they can reclaim it and get it exporting again, it's theirs. What's the worst that could happen?
