I'm considering running a D&D 5e Eberron campaign taking place in 998 YK. I'm trying to get a feel for interest and which aspects of Eberron people want to see in a campaign.

I'm interested, and since I have not played that setting before then everything would be good.

I would be intrigued! I'm a huge fan of Eberron and am interested in getting into a text-based game.

I'd have to look up the significance of that date in the campaign, but Eberron is such a rich setting, it's usually a good time.

Ah, okay! Thanks! I wasn't sure if it was something trying to be wacky like before the Last War or something really strange, lol. =)

I was so strongly considering a historical fiction "how to live in the Age of Demons" campaign... next time perhaps.

Eberron was always my favorite canonical d&d setting, so I'd be very excited to hear more about this at the very least! The "canonical" starting year is definitely my favorite place to start, but Eberron is a pretty broad/diverse setting. A game set in Sharn is very different from adventuring in Xen'Drik or even the other places closer to home for the average game. I'm curious to know more about just what sort of game you'd have in mind. The setting has so much diversity, I'd be quite curious to learn how you'd use it.

The plot hook I'm working with right now is a party seeking to help legitimize Droaam as a nation- through whatever means they deem necessary.

Sounds like a game especially well-suited to 5e, where you can play monstrous races a lot easier.

I'm also a huge Eberron fan and would deeply love a game. :)

To expand on the OP about desirable aspects, I'm wondering what sort of framework you currently had in mind yourself? Is there a particular region of Eberron or a theme you'd like to run with?

 1. Yes I'm interested. I'm so interested in five Eberron that I was about to start a thread on it here, and then I heard this one.
2. While I could do anywhere,   Droaam has a lot of interest for me...   I'm not picky  here, you could pick anywhere in Eberron  and I'd probably be good.

If it goes the Droaam angle (a post I somehow managed to overlook before), are you thinking of us as a party already working together, or a group pulled together by shared interests and motivation?

To respond to Retias, we're going to be starting at level 5. For the time being, the adventurers have been on their own up to this point and, due to their power, have been drawn together by a third party who is equally interested in the wellbeing of Droaam. That being said, if players are interested in their characters knowing each other/sharing a history, then that is also an option.
