IC: Cyberpunk 2077 using Cyberpunk RED

Just want to gauge interest in me running a campaign shortly after the events from the CP2077 game as Arasaka and Militech/NUSA gear up for a new corp war. It'd use Cyberpunk RED plus some house rule stuff.

I'd prefer to keep it quite low-level to begin with, sort of a gang-in-the-hood level, with a lot of detail on that neighbourhood, while events from the bigger world are pressing in. I'd prefer a collaborative approach on fleshing the world out so a bit sandbox-y rather than me having some well-defined quest chain in mind. My main role will be to throw optional gigs and NPC relationship events at the characters and allow them to find their own way while the world shifts.

So, I don't remember when it's supposed to be coming out, but they are going to release CP Red rpg....'setting'? Update? Information for CP2077. But if it's not soon then...shrug. Oh, I guess a full 2077 book is way further down the line, but an EdgeRunners Mission Kit is coming out in 2023 or something.

But yeah love Cyberpunk!

In reply to mesneaky (msg # 2):

Interesting. I'll keep an eye out for it but I wouldn't anticipate it diverting too much, if at all, from the computer game canon.

Wonder how many bugs it'll have on release /s

For the time being I'm happy to just use whatever we can derive from the game itself. Plus the "World of Cyberpunk 2077" is a beautiful book with a lot of good content as well. Plenty of wiki stuff already out there as well.

I don't know much about 2077, but I'm always interested in a chance to play CP.

At one point I had an idea for a specific (not entirely randomly generated) character that I'm not sure would actually fit CP2077 canon, but if you get enough other people interested don't hold out for me.

I'm not a fan of random generation, prefering more of a points-based approach. I've also got some house rules that allow for some additional points to spend/money/gear.

I have a vision for the Cyberpunk genre and so I'd be inclined to rate the game as Adult. Any conversation that involves meeting a doll or discussing braindances/virtus would tend to tip it over anyway, even without a high level of violence, graphic language, drug use, etc. This won't be about regular meetings in corpo boardrooms and fine restaurants. More John Wick than Mission Impossible.

I hope this isn't a problem.

Cyberpunk has always been about titillation and extreme violence. Even Johnny Mnemonic, as tame as it was, was very over the top.

You folks who remember the 1980s film Excalibur can recall how it seemed like all the knights in the field had to YELL OUT THEIR LINES! For me, Cyberpunk is the visual version of that. Very loud in terms of T&A, violence, and style.

So, no, it's not a problem. :)

Probably a couple of weeks as I pull some background stuff together.

I'll send PM's to those who expressed interest here before I advertise the game.
