Hello. I have noticed a lot of games on here centered around the werewolf apocalypse, Pathfinder, Star Wars/Trek, and others, but very few supernatural games or pirate based ones.

I was wondering if anyone would be interested either a supernatural game that included vampires, werewolves, demons, angels, and witches?

And/or a Pirate based game?

They would both be freeform games as I am not really familiar with different systems other than Vampire the Masquerade, 1st edition as that is what I used to use when I LARPed.

Anyway, let me know if any would be interested in either one of these...shoot we could even possibly come up with a whole new genre and combine the two ideas. Thanks for reading. :)

I know you said it would be free form but if you were looking for a good alternative set of rules for. Vampire etc that has all, the supernatural elements you are looking for with a simple system take a look at Liminal..... It's a great game

You might want to look at On Stranger Tides (1987) by TimPowers. Disney incorporated elements of the novel into the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film.

I think supernatural games with a blend of character origins like that come up every so often, freeform pirate games probably less so. Freeform socializing games in general are usually a pretty good draw for players. Either way, I'd take a look if you do put something together.

I love the idea of a pirate freeform, but thinking aloud I think you'd need to consider the setting closely.  If everyone is crew on a ship then you'd need to think about how much freedom they'd have to do their own thing.

A pirate island / town could be a wonderfully evocative setting but you'd have to watch out for people deciding to clear off on ships and things because then you have people not engaging as part of a world.

Adding supernatural elements is interesting, I can see the appeal of a 'Pirate Witch' island but if there are lots and lots of options you may lose some focus.  Even so, I think you are onto something different and interesting.

I would be interested in supernatural but not pirates.

I have played a pirate supernatural game in the past and it was enjoyable.

Yes, there would be a pirate town and more than just Pirates. I ran a game on yahoo groups and it went well for a while.

Looks like there is some interest in both a pirate and supernatural games, but not necessarily combined.

Okay, I will give this another few days to see if anyone else might be, then decide what I want to do.

Actually I think I'm good with supernat/pirates as long as the pirates aren't utterly evil. i.e  No rape/murder/torture...

I am always interested in freeform supernatural/fantasy games. And I love pirates.

I'd be interested regardless of whether it's a supernatural game, a pirate game, or both.

As long as it stays freeform and no censorship beyond the RPoL ToU are imposed.

Well, it looks like I have a few interested people. I will work on putting something together this weekend as I have a 3 days weekend. I will let you all know when it will be ready. I think I will try a supernatural pirate game and see what happens. If it turns out to be too much, then I will either split the ideas or do away with one. Thanks everyone.

I won't have too many rules outside of the normal ones, but I will have a must post at least once a week rule. I don't like slow games. :)
