Interest in a Palladium Rifts game

I suspect that the word 'perceived' was what sparked it. They're right, Rifts is a brutally flawed, cack-handed mishmash of three different systems in a trenchcoat. I love it to bits, but I'm by no means blind to its faults - which are a definite part of its charm.
That said, it is a game with a high barrier of access to the GM because even more so than games like Pathfinder, you need to keep a clear idea of what sort of characters you want when running applications. I have had a blast playing everything from psychic worms hiding in a robot dog to 'just a dude' and hatchling dragon arms dealers, but I've also seen games horribly derailed by That One Guy who got away with something in character generation.
Of course, some of those games were also made by That One Guy... I remember a fantastic AtB game in which one of the party was profoundly delusional, and I mean the player. Everything revolved around them and they always won everything they did, but they were the only one who thought or posted that (reliably, every time they posted). I think they also had a big-titty catgirl girlfriend that only they could see... Ohhhh, good times.
