Re: CHAPTER 1: Michael Hadenal

He looks through for a bit, talking after a minute while he keeps on looking. "sooo... how is this meant to work anyway with you not having anything here?"

Re: CHAPTER 1: Michael Hadenal

"As you can imagine, such objects are too valuable to carry on me, those that I have in stock can be fetched with just a few minutes wait, though some examples will take some time to assemble." I look up at him with a friendly smile. "Who do you have in mind? Sister, mother, lover?"

Re: CHAPTER 1: Michael Hadenal

"Of course, no money changes hands until I can present the goods, if you want them shipped to an address however, I will require payment up front, along with the postage and insurance costs" Michael lowers his hand to his damaged thigh, rubbing it firmly. "So come on, you must have a gift in mind."

Re: CHAPTER 1: Michael Hadenal

Michael gets up, and limps after the man, his staff striking the floor. "That is no reason to walk past the finest jeweller on the station when you are looking for a gift sir! I am sure we can work out something suitable. The shipping rates for such items are quite reasonable, as they weigh little and I can promise you that you will have to travel a long way to find someone a match for my skill."

Re: CHAPTER 1: Michael Hadenal

He looks like he feels a little sorry for the way you limp after him, but still... "Look, I'm sorry I just can't afford to pay in advance when there isn't any guarantees. I mean if I don't get anything mailed do me all I'll have is the information from your banking card and it could be false for all I know. You can't expect people to trust you on your word with some of the low lives hawking stuff on stations."

Re: CHAPTER 1: Michael Hadenal

"Sir, I am offended that you would think so low of me, I am a skilled artisan, why don't you at least come back and have a look and see if there is anything suitable. We can worry about payment and delivery when we find something you like." Michael moves round the man, guiding him back towards the booth. "I provide a service as much as a product, and I could not live with myself if I do not do my utmost to see that your special someone is given something they will love and treasure."

He sighs "I did see some earings I liked, if you could have them sent CoD to my home I would be happy to buy them, but I just can't sit around for you to put them together or fetch them"

"We might be able to come to an agreement, if you just point out the ones you like in my catalogues, and we can talk about price" Michael moves back behind his table, opening the catalogue to show the earnings. Re: CHAPTER 1: Michael Hadenal

"I have some copper, would that be red enough for you? It requires a bit more maintenance than gold, as it will corrode unlike the true metal. Or I can use a rose gold if you want something a bit more expensive, though I must say it is worth the extra expense, it is a truly fine metal and used to be quite popular in Russia back on Earth." He flicks through the book, showing examples of both metals.

Re: CHAPTER 1: Michael Hadenal

Michael smiles conspiratorially "Not without magic sir, and it is, frankly, easier just to make some more out of another metal. 18kt rose gold will cost about," He pauses to think for a fraction of a second. "12% more than the equivalent in yellow gold. It takes skill to alloy them and the demand is higher than for yellow gold"

Re: CHAPTER 1: Michael Hadenal

"That's fine, I live here on the station... you think you can have it shipped to me with in a few days... I wire the money then." A CoD was available with any banking chip, it cost a little more but it was personable.

He has picked out something along these lines:

Re: CHAPTER 1: Michael Hadenal

Michael looked at the pair chosen, "I think I can have those done for you quite quickly, and I am sure I can manage the CoD, I should be around the station for a bit more, so delivery should be quite prompt. Shall we say, 120kilo?"

Re: CHAPTER 1: Michael Hadenal

His eyes widen and he rubs the back of his neck, that was almost as much as he paid for his wedding ring. He takes out a banking chip of his own bring the screen up on it to go over his assets some, and crunch some numbers while mumbling to himself. "I don't know..." After a bit he nods some "Yah I guess I can manage to squeeze that by, here" He takes one of your pads and puts all his information down into it so you can ship the pair to him when you are done with it.

Re: CHAPTER 1: Michael Hadenal

"Trust me sir, it will be worth every credit, and who can put a price on affection." Michael takes the pad, glancing at it and putting it aside. He went through the details with his customer, setting up the CoD transaction. Once the customer was dealt with he collected up his belongings to transport back to his ship, wanting to get a start on the work tonight.

Re: CHAPTER 1: Michael Hadenal

Michael set down his tools, and rested his eyes. He always lost track of time when he started working on a piece. He looked down at the little bits of Russian Gold and sapphire on the bench. Perfect in every way he could think. "I hope he is pleased with them, he got a great deal." He muttered to himself before locking them in the safe for the night.

He slept in the next morning, having been kept up late last night. After his morning rituals he retrieved the ear rings and carefully boxed them, he might as well drop them off himself, and stepped out of his shuttle to make the delivery.

Pulling out a scrap of paper, Michael carefully scribed a not. Sir, I have completed your comission, though no one was in, I will call again this evening. - MH He pushed the note through the door and headed back to his ship, picking up his books and heading to his booth.

Re: CHAPTER 1: Michael Hadenal

Rather uneventful day, everyone seams to be getting ready. People don't seam to like the fact you don't have anything set up there with you and your not the most charismatic person in the world. However your skill dose manage a small sell or two mear trinkets. You come out 10,429c richer after a few hours and you sell one of the interplanet maps for 30k... some one didn't know of norbit or just didn't like dealing with the umbrood.

After the day's business, Michael once again head off to the address of yesterday's customer, taking his time due to his damaged leg. He taps on the door with his staff before leaning heavily on it.
