Re: CHAPTER 2: Raven
Raven's attempt to secretly communicate with Dev not only proved pointless as the creature heard his every word, the Knight was unwilling to believe his warning this creation could be dangerous while whispering back in full ignorance that his message had been heard by all present evidenced by the reply from the drone. The splicer considered that his accidental creation appeared to have a better grasp of the current situation plus at least a normal level of intelligence and understand the ex-Space Marine's intentions for his new building, whereas the Lady from Yesterland still pestered him about where the straw was every time she attempted to use the head on Luci and was currently missing the blatantly obvious in their current situation. His choices were either keep slamming his animal modified skull into the concrete wall that was his sword wielding friend, or gamble that this being was exactly what it said it was; here to help him achieve his goals. The soldier opted for the latter, and turned back on his external speaker.
"Yeah, that's my plan. I'm not going to even pretend I understand what exactly happened to get you here, but I am clear that you're duties are helping this building. Since I woke the building up in a ritual that connected me to it, then empowered that spirit with another in a Sword of Mars, then channeled both my own magic and raw power into this complex at its request and then you came to be right before this place took a nap, I'm going to say I'm connected to you as well.
"I'm going to help you out, you're not going to have to do everything on your own. The first thing we got to do though, is give you a name. People come here for shelter and help, we can't have them creeped out because the caretaker has no name. This place is going to help soldiers, I was a soldier twice and now once more I'm in a war but this time the stakes are all of existence, so I'm going to give you the name of a famous one from the history books back on my old home world of Earth. George, after General George S. Patton. Also, hurt or desperate people either are scared, or get that way real easy, so you can't act distant like this if you deal with them at all. So, we're going to practice, OK? I just gave you a name, now pretend you're happy and let's see how you do."
