Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

While Inks may have read about it doesn't seem
like news she would follow, so it would have been
only a vague understanding.

'Why is he called Smiling Jack? Although I get the
"smiling."' Another look at the smashed in face
and the rest of the scene, is there even the
possibility of smile on the child's face? Where are
we anyway(^^)?

'May I take my gun? Or will I be able to get it
back? I have a feeling it will be a comfort
later.'

After a look at the scene Inks picks up and
holsters the gun if allowed and heads in the
direction the Officer requested.

They let her have the gun, and don't rightly know who named it. They take her to the security station in the embassy, where most the staff was now. This wasn't an unfamiliar scene with the rest of the refugees about.

Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

If they leave Inks loafing boredom will set
in. She will fiddle with her computer to look up
more on 'Jack.' Why is he called jack? Has he
carved any other Js? Any strange brainwave
theories, not specifically on jack, and ties to
the supernatural. I doubt that will last long.

occ - jealousy? what does inks know of mind?
its relation to the akashics?

Time for a bathroom break and case possible routes
of exploration?

Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

The trip has calmed Inks, and she is taking in her
surroundings. She envisages parting the air with
her hands to reveal the light of spirit surrounding
the woman. She also takes a quick inventory of the
chair. Politely, "Water?"

If the chair has no menacing features Inks will
take a slow spin before taking her seat.

occ - read the soul spirit 1 mage sorcerers
crusade p269 is aura reading not sure if it fits
the cosmology and don't think i can use it as a
rote, but as a capability of the sphere maybe. not
actually moving hands but linking her focus to the
action. guessing we have removed the blood
spatter?  if not ...

After a small pause in the same voice, "A towel?"

Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

Her aura is warped by passive anti magic. They would have cleaned you up but not a change of clothing or shower or anything like magic cleaning lol so she still has blood on her she's just not soaked in it. She noods to the man that lead her in and he goes to get some water. "If you feel you can talk about what happened we would like to hear what you have to say while the events are still fresh in you mind."

Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

After seeing the antimagic the child will look at
the rest of the room to see if anything else is so
protected. Once the man leaves she will listen to
the woman.

Inks nods for a moment, absently, then "I was
running and came to an alley. There was a man
there, but his head was a mess. I didn't think he
could be alive. Not much further was a girl. She
was over a woman, there was more blood but I
thought I might help. As I got closer i saw the
body had casing in her head.

"The girl looked fine though and I backed away. She
attacked, smiled and carved into her face. She kept
coming so I drew my gun. Hoping to clip her I shot
her in the shoulder. When I hit she stopped and
the smile she had the whole time got wider...she
stabbed herself...she thrashed...but just enough
to break her skull." As she talks she gets more
focused as if trying to figure something out.

After a moment "Security showed up then."

Inks will answer any questions honestly, but
unless the woman brings up magic Inks will not. If
the woman asks she will tell her she can divine
spirits, and while she thought the child victim
might be possessed Inks saw only one spirit.

occ - Inks will use wits?+enigma to see if
anything else comes to her during the pause. I
don't really expect it to, but it seems in
character.

Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

(You can roll that yourself if you like but that was detailed enough for them)

She listens and nods, the man brings you water and leaves. She nods while you talk and waits for you to finish. "Yes, well don't blame yourself but it's common for the anomaly to self terminate rather than be killed or captured. It likely realized it wasn't going to kill you so it desided to mess with your head instead, otherwise it would have killed you and whent on killing till some one stoped it. These people will be fine, besides needing some therapy.... We can get you some if you feel you need it." The whole embassy is thickly valed over and blured spiritually, like a thick bank of fog rolled through it. The walls of the moon where think but here they overlapped apon eachother, there where more realms coming together here than it might seam from the outside.... It was also a good deal larger on the inside than the outside. The construction was odd and phi came up a lot in the dementions, a LOT.  It built around an area she simply could not see to in the slightest bit. This didn't seam to have anything to do with security station though but the embassy itself.

She drinks, somewhat distracted, "Well I'm glad I
put an end to this session, at least. While my I
may be disoriented, I feel more curious than
disturbed, thanks. Does this happen often? Why is
he called Jack? Do you know anything else?"

occ - my own associations aside what does inks
know of old earth pyramids and pi, which seems to
come up a lot(^^).

Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

She sighs "The news came up with the name, the number of refugees seams to be increasing the frequency of the anomaly, as it don't fit any coloration to population we have seen before. We hope getting them off world will help but not many are going to be to happy to be moved again so soon. We need to keep people calm the people here have suffered enough, long as we keep people together and calm we can minimize the appearance of this anomaly. The fewer people that know about it the better, the more word of it spreads the more instances of it seam to appear. Knowing of it don't seam to be a necessity for it to manifest but the number of people that do know about it seams to be having an affect on how often it appears." She looks down and shakes her head. "Starting to think the only necessity is some one has suffered, like it wants to make them suffer more."

"Murphy seems to have provided his usual aid then,
with the refugees. I'm not sure dispersing the
refugees isn't best anyway. There is only so much
to go around."

Has Inks seen anything similair to the embassy
with the the ruins? Would this overlapping
indicate anything to her due to spirit training?

Is Smiling Jack only active on the moon?

Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

"Things are never simple."

There is some coloration between the ruins and the building. While the architecture is similar, the math gone into the way the building is layied out is much much more in line with the ruins. The architecture seams to be superficial but the layout looks intentionally and functionally like the ruins.

Inks makes a note to herself to find out about
this building.

Inks looks awkwardly to the woman at her defeated
statement, with a small empathetic smile.  The
child speaks her mothers words, "We can only face
what comes, and hope we have the mettle to meet
it."

"We can pick up the brain waves of the anomaly but capture lets us have some time to examine the anomaly but it don't contain it. It seams to have a level of control that it can cause aneurisms/heart populations and the like. Sedating the subject seams to eventually bring an end to the anomaly. We currently sedate them when we find them and take what readings we can."

She was half talking to herself, but she was to smart and attentive to forget Inks but she was being oddly talkative... something inks got use to... people ether ignoring her with out steady reminders she was there, or talking to her in odd ways. "This district, not enough... we need people like you to keep quite about this, we are worried if enough people know about it that it will spread beyond the moon. There has been a handful of murders disturbingly like these on Mars, but so far it seams contained to the moon. I think this.... thing... want's the attention, not just for what ever relation it has to it's spread but it needs it or desires it. Why so many killers through out history have strives to have the most of kills in some kinda ritualistic manor just makes no sense. It can't really be about the highest 'score' can it?"

Let her keep talking. If she pauses for more than
thirty seconds inks will quietly add, "I will not
pass on what I know. As far a scores go history
seems replete with foolish people doing the
strangest things for the strangest reasons. I'm
sure this one has its own and they were not likely
created from nothing."

occ - and that's before we even get to

Inks nods, 'A rest might be welcome. I don't think
I ever got your name?'

Once Inks has been introduced unless there is
anything else she will head out. Although in the
most circuitous route possible to get a better
understanding of the building and its spiritual
nature.

"lt Jane"

The building was... well even with her understanding of correspondence and interdenominational space it was just overwhelming. The complexity of the math and lay out held what seamed to be some sort of collocation and folded space, but of space and realms. It was one of those things that looked like the work of ether a madman or a genius.

Re: Interlude 1 - Inks

Or both(^^).

Inks will take notes on the building, and Jane's
office location. She will take a moment to look up
Jane on the 'sphere. Unless something shiny come
up she will leave and return to her current abode.

Once she gets away from her any sort of large
population, the child will take up her easy
lope. A meditation in jumping and rolling and
exploration. Attempting to separate her thoughts
from the moment.
