The UES Gambit

Back ground: Chimera class Super Dimensional medium Cruiser (SDMC)
With the complete loss of the Tenth Mars Division assault wave in 2038 the UEEF realized that the resources both in man power and raw material were beginning to feel the pressure of their limits. While the Ikazuchi-class Carrier has proven itself a worthy vessel it consumes a lot of resources and man power to operate not to mention the time it took to complete in the shipping yards. It was decided by the UEEF High Command that what the fleet needed was a smaller vessel to operate in the role of colony defense and border patrol as well as being able to fight in major operations such as the upcoming Reflex Point Battle. Its design would allow it to operate alone or with a small fleet of Garfishes while it acted as the Command Ship for long range reconnaissance and border patrol and defense of the colonies of both earth and Tirol. Dr. Lang and the Robotech Engineers spent several years designing the Chimera Class Super Dimensional medium Cruiser (SDMC). And one of the Vessels they got was the Chimera-class Medium Cruiser.

The REF Chimera Class cruisers are named after a mythical creature with three head to represent the multi roles it would assume. It was one of Dr. Lang’s top junior designers that figured out how to work in all the functions High Command wanted and the good Doctor demanded, he simply took a vessel which had proven its reliability in the field and reworked the design to be larger and to incorporate much of the system from its smaller cousin the Garfish light Cruiser. This concept work well on many level, first the shipping yards would be somewhat familiar with the design, second the basic modular concept was kept and the cruisers could also change their underbelly container in for mission specific need. And third it would use much of the same basic designs of the garfish so the parts could be interchange able. And lastly it would meet the needs of carrying more Mecha and fire power to the front lines while needing only a fraction of the crew that of the larger Ikazuchi-class Carrier needed. The small Shuttle hanger is connected to the Mecha storage area, making for rapid deployment.

While designed out of necessity to conserve man power and resources. It also allowed for it to be one of the first vessels to utilize the Haydonite technology build into its original designs. While a Synchro Cannon which split the ship in half was left out of the design a new tri Barrel version; the Synchro Turret
was incorporated. The shadow clocking device was also another of the revolutionary devices that was completely accepted with open arms for this new Class of cruiser.

   Under the command of Captain Jack Grim ,the second of the new Chimera Class vessels named the UES Gambit is undergoing its shake down with its fleet of four Garfish escorts and a science Garfish-class Heavy Cruiser the UES NERV, while escorting a colony vessel to its new world in the Unicrum sector . Officially entering service March 6th of 2044, it is the second of twelve off the original production run. More are already in the works at various UEEF shipping yards. However with the treachery of the Haydonites the Clocking devices and Synchro turrets along with all other Haydonite technology are removed from the designs. This has slowed the next run of chimeras by six months.

The UES NERV

   The UES NERV is a garfish variant Eclipse-Class, The UES NERV is a Scientific Research and Development vessel with state of the art laps and equipment, currently assigned to the UES Gambit’s fleet while conducting its field test of experimental Mecha and other top secret projects.
 The standard hanger deck has been replaced with two side hanger bays which allow for more mecha and support vehicles to accomplish its mission. Between the hanger bays, not visible from the side, the aft hull bulges downward. A larger cargo bay door is fitted allowing larger ground vehicles to offload. It gives more room for the Eclipse to carry manufacturing facilities allowing the ship to sustain itself for longer durations of time.
 The weapon systems are mounted with retractable hardware allowing them to be withdrawn into the ship during typical space travel. Their retractable nature improves fuel efficiency during hyperspace and atmospheric flight. After all the class mandate is for scouting without consuming large amounts of protoculture. One of the biggest difference is the ship’s Triple-Barreled Particle Cannon turret now located on the dorsal.

The UES  Marcus Antonious

Back ground:   Taken from the graveyard the Marcus Antonious and refitted again to carry a colony and a battlion of ASC troops that are assigned to defend it, to Planet named Tokyo 3 in the Unicrum Sector. The Marcus Antonious is assigned to the Gambits Fleet which is also escorting the Science ship Nerv while it conducts R&D research on experemental mecha.

   The Horizon-V is a substantial update to the design of the venerable Horizon-T of transatmospheric dropships. The earlier Horizon-T suffered from a high casualty rate when attacked during atmospheric reentry in previous missions against the Invid.

History:
  The Thunder Hammers are a rough and touch fighting force who stop at nothing to accomplish its mission. It is often joined by Lieutenant Colonel William Thatcher, The man responible for thier existance. They are the Gambits ground pounders. though they are a new squadron they have the respect of thier commander.

History: The Angels is a squad of kids ranging from 13 to 15, the squad leader is the son of Colonel Ikari, while he is reluctant to risk the lives of his team, he will gladly lay his down for them. This Squadron is classified and currently assigned to the NERV.
