The two standing there were pleased the young officer pleased. Aric replied to her question; "Well Lieutenant, I think your unit is allowed to have pretty much what ever it wants. within the limits of supplies. we will get your modifications once we can."

Kaarle nodded and took a seat to wait while Michelle did her thing.  He was surprised at how well she had recovered, even more surprised at how attractive she made herself out to be for the commander, spruced up clothing, make up an all.  He wondered if it was all just for show or if there were more to it, not that he minded after all having a cute girl to bunk with wasn't all bad.

He sat patiently considering his situation, he still hadn't worked out what he intended to do about this torture they were putting her through, but he knew it needed to stop.  Closing his eye's in thought he wondered why other methods hadn't worked and kept coming back to his same conclusion over and over...someone was short cutting results at the expense of human lives...

  Kaarle, you sit there for roughly twenty minutes while Michelle is in the commanders office. when she comes out she is standing straight, a look of a soldier upon her face. She turns to you and says in a professional voice; "The Commander would like to see you." 

  When you enter his office he instructs you to have a seat. "Congratulations lieutenant." he slides a insignia across his desk to Kaarle. "Your offically promoted to Wraith squadrons commander. When  i find fresh pilots which will mix well with your teams duties I will replace the loss to your units numbers. Lieutenant, this position comes with a lot of responsiblity, you have two pilots under your command who will report to the NERV mecha synchro lab once a month. You can choose to observe in the Observation room or you can do whatever other activity you would like to do. But if they do not report in as ordered they will be transferred back to NERV and retired. High Command does not recognize these kids, they are weapons of war. If you wish to have them stay out of NERV's Reach, then you better get used to dealing with things you may not approve of. IF you interfere you risk their lives lieutenant, I expect you to be the commanding officer and do what is best for your team." ]

Skyrah turned and nodded once, letting those mismatch colored eyes of her look them over. "Very well. Thank you. If you need me for anything I'll be in my cabin."

She would then make her way back to her cabin. Once there she will notice Miriana using her Virtual Reality set, cooking her head to the side for a moment she would watch her. Not understanding what she was seeing, she considered for a moment.

Within the game, Miriana frowned, and opened the menu to pause for a moment. While a VR set boasted full immersion, it could not negate external sensory information short of inducing a coma, and as such she had heard the familiar sound of the door opening within the game. It had been one of the first things she had trained herself on recognizing, that and the sound of a new message on her comlink, both of which acted as 'alarms' in a way telling her mind to pay attention to her more physical surroundings for a minute. She removed the helmet, and spotted Skyrah.

- "Hello. How was leave?"

She placed the VR helmet on a nearby desk, and sat down in the chair next to it.

Kaarle looked across the desk to the Commander as he announced that his promotion had been finalized, reaching across the desk to retrieve the insignia, he held it carefully in his hand as the weight of the situation started to wash over him.  As excited as he was to advance he couldn't help but think to his final moments with Doshi and how he wish he could have done more to save him...this wasn't how it was supposed to be... he thought to himself.

As the Commander continued with the expression on Kaarle's face grew dark and filled with contempt over his new orders.  This too wasn't how it was supposed to be.  With every breath the man took, every new word the left his lips his anger grew.  He bit his tongue though, he knew that he couldn't effect change if he lashed out, and clearly that wouldn't get anything accomplished here and now.  When the commander had finished he realized full well what the commander was getting at when he said "retired"...these kids didn't exist, which meant execution at best, disappeared and used for something far more sinister at its worst since the commander said "High Command does not recognize these kids, they are weapons of war."

When the talking had ended he spoke up finally "I understand my order's sir, and will endeavor to do what is best for my team..." he stated leaving the question open for the obvious interpretation he had for his commander hope he understood his feelings as shown by the expression on his face and the coldness of his tone.

For a moment he wondered if this entire conversation was being monitored, he kicked himself for not controlling his emotions and followed up what he said previously with "I'd hate to lose anyone else under my watch" he said with all due sincerity.

"Is there anything further you wished to discuss sir?" He stated trying to cheer himself up for any fuck who might be listening.

Thirteen takes a deep breathe of relief at her explanation. He takes a moment to think about her words.

"I feel conflicted." He said thoughtfully. "What you describe of the Zentradi sounds much like my own training up to this point, maybe even more so, so your conclusion is that my training has been incorrect."

"It was okay. I'd rather of been doing other things then made to see a movie." She said flatly as she watched her put the VR headset down. She looked at the device curiously for a moment, then back towards Miriana a moment.

Finally she would place her satchel on her bunk, and pull a drawing tablet from it and a pack of colored pens. She would then sit on the floor, since Miriana was occupying the desk at the moment, and began to draw a picture of everyone that had went on leave sitting around a table and eating.

"My conclusion is that your training is incomplete."

Miriana nodded the curious glance at her VR helmet.

- "It is one of the first things i bought, i use it for training. Though the exercises would be of little use to you."

She motioned to the helmet, Skyrah could see for herself if she so wished, and if not, that would be fine as well. She thought for a moment, before deciding this would be a good time to try out some meaningless conversation the humans were so fond of.

- "The movie, was it good?"

Thirteen rubs the back of his neck.

"It never is complete..." He said plainly.

"Speaking of training, will we be having more training as a group before our next mission?"

"A simulated exercise or two may be of value. I'll see what I can come up with.
Until then, though, you two relax; try not to concern yourselves with duty until you are called upon to do so. I'll make it an order, if that will help you."

Cerise salutes the two close in fighters and takes her leave. Thirteen had a point; some simulations would be a good idea.

  Sillia returns the salute and as Cerise walks away she replies with her usual smile; "Like you have to be ordered to relax, Its the best part of the day."

 Once she is sure Cerise is out of ear shot, her look turns more serious and her tone more authoritative; "Ok, Kid, what the hell was that all about? You in some kind of trouble? I have not seen you get this emotional about anything since we have met. And as good as those chocolates are, they would not cause you that look of fear. Whats going on? remember my people can tell when people are lying."

"What kind of training?" She asked, looking up from her drawing. Then back over at the helmet a moment.

Finally she looked at Miriana when she asked about the movie. "I did not really pay attention to it. I was drawing during it." She said as she turn the page back to an almost completed sketch of the Marine she had lead back to the crashed Vulture, but later shot herself. Wait, she was drawing in a mostly dark movie theatre?

Thirteen stood and saluted Cerise as she left as he wondered how exactly he would follow that order. The Sillia asked the question. He thought about how he would answer that.

"Like I said, I don't get gifts. I just had a difficult day yesterday with tough training since I have to catch up to all of you. After that, the gesture caused me to react unusually."

Thirteen slid back into his shell, using a variation of the truth.

  Sillia facial features twisted. "Your lying!" she said blatantly. "I do not like being lied to. If you do not wish to tell be the marine you are and just say so. If you do not wish to talk about something at this moment then say later. But if you and the rest of the team cannot be honest then How can I trust any of you with my life. Or you with your?"


  It is very clear she is not happy with you as she leaves the shared quarters.

  Kaarle - He gives you the look of understanding and then he dismisses you to go about your day.

   You find Michelle sitting straight up in the chair you had been sitting in before entering the commanders office.



  Iphigenia - you arrive to sick bay, your daily check in on Lieutenant Murphy shows give no indication of change. other then a few minor injuries your day here is uneventful and boring.

In reply to Gargoyle (msg # 136):

Kaarle steps out of the office, in ding so he makes a movement to attach the insignia for his promotion before looking over to Michelle.

"Seems it's official..." he says sarcastically.

Turning to leave he waves for her to follow.  "I don't know about you but I could use a drink right about now." He says to her as he makes his way down the corridor.

  As Kaarle steps out and puts his insignia on, Michelle stands up in back straight shoulder back as an officer should.

   She falls in as she is waved to follow. "I am afraid I have never had a drink before sir." she says as they walk down the corridor.

Thirteen began to reach out as Sillia left but stopped himself from speaking until she was gone. He looked down at the chocolate she had given him.

"No... you are better off hating me. I am but a number, best forgotten."

He said softly in a tone of acceptance. He found a small plastic bag and put the chocolate away, looking longlingly at it before hiding it away.

"Thank you for that one moment." He said softly.

   NPCed

  Throwing the curtain of his bunk open, he looks at the Kid in the lower bunk; "Well, That was one pissed off girl, kid. But if you don't mind me saying kid, You really need to rethink your attitude if you want to be a member of a team."

   Kid the only question you need to ask yourself are you wanting to be part of this team or not. But if you cannot answer that with yes, then transfer out of this unit before you get your team killed. with that he reclines back and stares at the top of his bunk.

In reply to Skyrah Valentine (msg # 133):

- "You're free to see for yourself, if you want."

Miriana motioned at the helmet. Should Skyrah turn down the offer that would be fine as well, she needed to spend a few minutes without a screen stuck in front of her eyes anyway so as to let her eyes rest a bit. VR technology was all good and well, but too much of a good thing...

In reply to Michelle Grey (msg # 138):

Kaarle nods in understanding as they get back to their quarters.  He goes to his stash pulling out a half empty bottle of vodka.  He pops the cork and takes a swig he passing it off to her.

"They expect you to die for them ya know...least they can do is let you enjoy yourself once in awhile." He says as he crashes on his bunk.

"Just don't go overboard with the stuff and put it back when your done" he says while laying there still thinking about the meeting earlier.

"Be ready, next time were called will likely be for the next mission" as he closes his eyestate resting.

  As they enter their quarters she smiles. removing her side arm and placing it on her bunk before kicking her boots off and setting them next to the door.
  She takes the bottle and tips it back and without realizing it takes a double shots worth. she fight not to spit it back out as she coughs from the intense burning in her throat. Then she giggles before sitting down with her back to the wall. It does not take long before the warm and fuzzy feeling creeps in.



  She smiles; "Kchek, I know I will die in battle, we all do. I just hope its a battle I choose and for a cause I believe in." she takes another double shot causing her to again cough and twitch in her seat as she fights through the burn. "The Commander, has put himself into a precarious way when he took me at ten." she giggles at the realization she just made that sound naughty. "I mean he took me as his own child when no one else did. He has made sure my life had fun and joy. I was allowed to do fun things with Karma. He even made it so i did not have to go into the Synchro tubes as often as the others when he took me to the Freedom Station with him." she takes another shot and its effects are beginning to show.



She corks the bottle after one more shot, giggling uncontrollably for several minutes. "Ve fink issss eeeeellls fuunn." she says as she opens and closes her hand in front of her face. Giggling again.




  Rosy face, sheepish smile as she was leaning forward as she spoke;
"I wwwaaa nnaa fl." She stands up and pushes the bottle back into its hiding place with a bit of effort. She giggled again. she twist about and see that Kaarles eyes are closed and smiles. She strips out of her cloths and climbs into her bunk before sighing. she looks at the picture of her and her friend as she wraps herself up in her blanket before the darkness took her to a peaceful sleep.

Cerise sends a text message to each team member to report for team training at 0600 tomorrow.

OOC: I know, the GM has already said we won't make it to that training, but Cerise doesn't know that yet. :)
