You probably just need to download the right codec packs.

http://haruhichan.com/forum/sh...CP-Kawaii-Codec-Pack

Also, VLC is great video software.

When it comes to codecs i just install this, comes with a good player too:

unlock?  Does it require a password?

Should be MKV files.  Start out with the VNC software and work out from there.  I went through codec hell myself recently after an upgrade.  I think I used the CCCP codec pack.

I have been using the CCCP codec pack for years. It works with basically all viewers too. I love it.

I have never had an issue with viruses or the movies from nyaa.  But it is purely an japanophile site, and flies under the 'normal' radar.

Does everyone have personal communication device for direct communications or emails?

Also 10PM for moral boosting activities probably isn't going to have the effect Cerise desires since everyone has to be up at 4am for PT :P

Re: Out of Character Conversation

Well, as I said; I intended it to be within an hour or 2; since there is no concrete "time now" I had to just randomly put a time.

And I assumed in this ultra-scifi era that everyone would have such devices, since practically everyone does now, at least in the civilian world. If that is not the case, then I'm sure there is other means of communications. How else do you get people to go where you want them when you want them outside of way preplanned time periods?

I find it more likely it is worn like a wrist watch.

Re: Out of Character Conversation

The original shows were all early 80's.  (Super Dimensional) or 'SD' Fortress Macross, SD Cavalry Southern Cross, SD Century Mospeada.  None were done by the same studio or production companies.  Robotech is like a patchwork quilt of the three, adding a fourth company.  Not quite like the "One Ring", since the first 39 episode sequence, Macross, has a dozen sequels of it's own.

The land line phones had holographically projected video, though.  =)

Thinking on it, and I would have to watch the footage, I could have sworn "Rick Hunter" had a wrist communicator of some sort.  Please remember, portable radios and such go back to the early 1900's.  I also believe I recall similar devices on "Dana Sterling" and more advanced in Mospeada.. er, "New Generation", on.. whatever his name was.

Re: Out of Character Conversation

lol I just searched the books. In the first edition all military personnel had a wrist radio assigned to them with a 10 mile range. In my mind they carried over. But that said there are intercoms all over the ships so one can reply shortly.

So everyone has a wrist radio. assigned to them. Off duty personnel do not have to wear them. To get them to reply you do a ship wide announcement.

The Tablets are used to send duty assignments, schedules, emails and you can use them for ship to ship communications with something like skype.

I will strive to do better with the time issue. But the problem we continue to run into is like the party situation with the officers and Cerise. The other players are posting and chatting. However When Cerise took Kaarle and Skyrah outside. they had to wait to on cerise to chat while the others are still posting.
Miriana went to bed in the game so she is not posting. While thirteen and Xavier are.

I am open to suggestion on how you guys would to have this dealt with.

As for officers and Enlisted intermingling, it is frowned upon for officers to be lingering in the enlisted lounge, as it takes enlisted off duty space away from them. An officer who rewards his squad or team with a round generally comes in buys the round drinks his drink quickly and makes his or her way out.
Officers cannot make enlisted hang out with them off duty. Now as you are a special elite unit, while on the vulture there is no personal space out side ones bunk. Your teams will make friends with each other. and can chose to do activities together.
When off duty your teams can fly to the Marcus Antonious and enjoy the township.  Your standard work day is 12 hours. However when on the vulture its all day till you are back with the fleet. regardless you are expected to be at your post when your assigned to be. Vulture teams duty times are all kept the same.

Feel free to ask any questions so all the things i am not thinking about can be addressed.

Re: Out of Character Conversation

It seems to me that our chat was probably about 1 or 2 minutes with Kaarle, and, at most, 10 minutes with Skyrah (though probably much less); basically, when they get back in, they could react to and/or have heard almost everything that went on.

And, despite standard duty length, I'm pretty sure that an officer can require some extra time be spent on things; for example, short team building exercises when it is evident that there are team cohesion problems; this may even fit into the 12 hour duty shift, depending on timing. Perhaps it wasn't totally clear, but that is what I was trying to do; I wasn't trying to make it so that everyone had to hang out at all times, but, rather, have time outside of the time spent training where everyone was forced to get to know each other/get to trust each other. Things like gatherings are great and all, but when they totally nix the order to do some level of team building in favor of an exclusive event, that is where Cerise felt things got out of line. Especially since countermanding her order wasn't even discussed with, nor cleared with, her prior to doing so.

Re: Out of Character Conversation

for the most part the 4 hours after or before duty is assumed to be time to eat breakfast or dinner at their leisure. shower tend to personal needs and even go to the PX to buy something they need. Or with clearance they can go to the MA to enjoy the town.

when on duty most personnel report to some place and do whatever their stations require. A mechanic without anything to work on will linger in the shop and they can clean up and then goof off a bit without getting in trouble your teams report to the vulture and basically hangs out. Wraith Squadron should be in flight suits ready to deploy within the five minutes of the launch orders. So team building exercise should and are allowed to happen during this time.

Real problem we suffer is that wraith squadron is technically 100% full, Have not heard from karma for a short bit but she did not quit either.
Banshee Squad on the other hand is down to three players and me running everyone else in the squadron. Which is not overly fun for me. I do not really wish to chat with myself in the game.

I realize that the conversation with kaarle and skyrah are only a minutes.

Fell is the commanders right hand on this ship. and you all report to her when needing to go higher up the food chain.

Which again is what Skyrah is trying to point out, in a haphazard epic fail sorta way. Leave off duty as off duty, and do team building as on duty. Lest you wish to destroy morale altogether.

Re: Out of Character Conversation

Er, Cerise had already left without giving you chance to reply; did you chase after her?

As for destroying morale to build morale; that isn't Cerise's goal; she's sacrificing some morale in order to build a solid team. After all, it doesn't matter how happy everyone is with their jobs if they can't work together. And I'm sure 10 minutes of team building games a day is not going to entirely wreck everyone's morale. And that is about how long team building exercises generally take. That is not to say that Skyrah doesn't see it a different way.

As for Fell being higher rank; no one has made the claim that Fell ORDERED that Wraith have a get together, only that she authorized it. Two very different things. Of course, Cerise (nor I) am privy to how the actual conversation went, so it may have been phrased in such a way that it was an order. But Cerise wouldn't know that, since no one has said that.

Aren't both Xavier and Thirteen actual players? Or are you NPCing one or both of them too? :( (They are the only ones who've posted recently.)
