Morning arrives and each of the teams wakes to greet another fantastic day in deep space in their tight bunks.

 Breakfast in the Mess is the standard choices. With everyone getting their fill before the briefing and the lunch for their next mission. With little under three months till the final show down with the Invid oill the final show down with the Invid on earth many soldiers discuss life after the war. Many have stated that they plan to retire and live in some grand city here or there. while others refuse to set foot on the dirt ball, even if High Command orders it.


   After Chow you each find yourselves reporting to briefing room A taking your seats as you choose.

   Several of Vultures crew enter taking seats in the back.

   You may all post here when you finish whatever you are currently doing. This will be the next adventure and i will be waiting till the weekend to begin. 

  Lt. Cmdr. Fell stand back and behind the podium waiting for everyone to take a seat.
  The Vulture Crew enter and take the back corner seats and begin to quietly talk among themselves.

  Miriana is accompanied by Matt and Kariza all look like they have been busy this morning working on what. While Matt and Kariza move to the back of the room with the rest of the crew to join in the conversation. Miriana sits in the front left of center.

   Severian, Korvan, Gerelt, Steven, Iphigenia all sit in random spots waiting for the briefing to begin.

  Skyrah enters and takes the seat next to Miriana without saying a word and begins to sketch

Mirage looks for Karma and if she has not arrived yet she fiddles with coffee until close to time, then grabs an aisle seat in the middle.

Cerise takes a seat next to Miriana, at the front. She resists the urge to inquire about what the wrenchers had been up to, and, instead tries to model the attentive officer.

In reply to Cerise (msg # 4):

Kaarle arrives with Michelle and moves to take a at the front with the rest of the officers.  He wasn't sure what the new orders would be but was certain that considering that recent missions it would be another test of his resolve.  Seeing Cerise and the others he sat down quickly so that the meeting could begin as soon as everyone was ready.

Miriana crossed her arms as she waited, giving a quick nod to anyone entering as a greeting though the gesture seemed a bit awkward given the difference between it and her general body language. She would respond to idle chatter, though making no attempt to start some of her own, choosing to simply sit there and wait for the briefing to commence.

In short: To all that knew her, she was being her usual self.

  She smiles at the others and greets everyone cheerfully before carefully taking her seat. Michelle sits straight looking forward, smiling sheepishly next to Kaarle.

  Striding in Sillia appears to be quite pleased with the universe.

   She accompanies Xavier and sits with the other grunts of Banshee squad behind all officers.

  Karma enters a half minute behind Mirage
getting a coffee before taking thier seats. "Trust you are feeling ok today?" she says smiling.

 Aravea enters and takes her seat a couple spots away from sillia. But still close enough in case she needs to ask a question.

Xavier, finds Sillia and waves for her to come sit with him upon her reaching him he says, Hey kitten, what you've been up to today?

Not waiting for her to respond he grabs her hand and pulls her next to him. And gives her a kiss.

Silas, after getting a good workout in, finally takes his shower, eats something from the mess hall and heads to his bunk for the night.he watched a few movies, before passing out at 6 or 7 in the morning.

He is woken up and told to be at the meeting..

God dammit I just fell asleep he sighs under his breath.

He lazily gets up, dressed and heads out the door.

He gets to the meeting hall, takes a seat as close to the door that he could get. Trying to not be so obvious that he really didn't want to be there.

Thirteen wakes up and gets ready in the morning. He goes with Avarae to the meeting and takes a seat close to her. He silently watches the room as if trying to get some sort of clue as to what they will be discussing.

Mirage smiles to Karma and nods, gets her coffee and heads to a seat with her.

"Fine, why?"  She smirks a little to her.

On the way she pats Thakkun on the shoulder in passing, nods if she meets her gaze.

   Once everyone is Seated Commander Rockatansky eaters. He is wearing admiral two admiral stars. Korvan jumps up and yells admiral on deck. Once all the formal salutes are done he tells everyone to take their seats.

  "Alright ladies and gentlemen. I'll do my best to keep this simple as I have another meeting after this one with Shuttle Commanders and their Veritech squadron leaders." Michelle visibly dis-comfortable as she looks between Kaarle and the Admiral.

  "Before the Mission briefing I have two announcements. First, Lt Cmdr Fell. Has bee promoted to fleet Captain." the group give the polite claps of congratulations.

  "Second, I am afraid I will be shorting Banshee squad of one of its finest. But Master Sgt. Korvan has been deserving this promotion for many years."

  Korvan stands up beaming with pride as he clasp hands with the Admiral, while taking a box with his other. "Thank you, Sir. I'll not let you down.

  I have no doubt Lieutenant Estha, you are dismissed until the next meeting after this." with that Korvan salutes the admiral, the captain then lieutenants Cerise, Thakun and Valentine telling each of them it had been an honor to serve under them before making his exist.

  "This is the final mission before we head back home and rendezvous with the main fleet behind Mars. That right folks after this, its reflex point and the Invid's turn." he gives everyone a moment before continuing.

  "Your final mission on for this deployment is simple and should be boring. You will fold ahead of the fleet to Tokyo three. you will have several days to search from orbit for suitable locations and when you find the one that meets the specifications of the colony needs you will secure a landing zone for the Marcus Antonious to set down and unload its colonist." he give a moment.

  "the main fleet will stay in orbit during the first month of colonization. Your team will remain planet side during this operation. The army of the Southern Cross will have operational command once the UES Apex lands. You will give them fleet support if needed. Otherwise you are on alert status and assist the colonist as needed."

  "you have an extra hour to gather your gear and stow it on Vulture before your twelve hundred hour launch. If there are no questions everyone but Lieutnenats Cerise and Cherkovski."

  Karma shrugs with a knowing look in her eyes at Mirage in reply to her question. She takes a seat next to Mirage.

  Michelle leans over to Kaarle. before she makes her exist. "Please don't do it."

  She gets up and quickly moves out of the door and makes her way to the other members of the squadron. "Everyone ready?"

  She pushes Xavier back. "Your on duty Sargent." she scornfully says.

   She claps loudly when Korvan promotion is announced genuinely excited for him.

  When the breifing is over she makes her way with the others. "This should be a cake walk compared to everything else we have been through. Don't you think?"

Kaarle simply nods and winks at Michelle. "I'll try to behave". He said remaining for the second meeting.

Thirteen keeps an eye on Avarae as the news are given as he was curious of her reaction considering what she had told him yesterday. He sees Sillia come to them.

"Maybe." He simply answers.

  Thirteen - Aravae blinks and shrugs. She does not have any overwhelming feeling on this planet. Other than she rather not go.

   She listens intently till its time to go.



   As everyone excites the briefing room. There are six other men and women. Korvan is standing there and for those who know him. The Squadron Leader of the Ravagers Lt. Joker is standing by another Lt. he gives Mirage a wink. "when we hit earths atmosphere you and I have to actually compete on invid kills cutie."

Oh my dear kitten, I am always on duty. A little kiss wont hurt anybody. Xavier says after Sillia is done pushing him away.  He settles in for the briefing, all the while holding onto sillia's hand. Not caring about what others think. He feels her fighting to pull away, but he only tightens his grip. He whispers into her ear; you better give up my love, you will begin to make it obvious.

Xavier stands up with the rest of the crew when they are dismissed.

See you back at quarters kitten. I Love you! He shouts as he exits the room. Sensing her sudden horror of such a blatant outburst of personal feelings.

Xavier proceeds down the hall towards the mess hall for something to eat, and then quarters to hear his mate yell at him.

Silas being the usual one to have some sort of crazy unfathomed outburst, was very quite and forlorn.
He sat in the back of the room as close to the door as possible, and when they were dismissed from the briefing, he was the first one out the door, didn't even give anybody the chance to notice him.

That's how he was the last couple of days. Avoiding people, unwilling to talk to anybody, just working out at the gym, and solace.

He thought to himself. Everyone needs a little quite time and a little time for self reflection. Right?

He went to his bunk after the meeting, grabbed his workout gear and headed to the gym for a quickie.

Miriana listened to the briefing, short as it was. She agreed that Korvan's promotion was deserved, as the Zentraedi held a lot of combat experience it would be beneficial to the wings as a whole to see him lead, even if it was no longer on Banshee. She could not fault him in the least for getting promoted out, such was simply the way of things. Having been 'born' in space, she does not have emotional attachments to Mars or Earth other than them being locations that were to be held, and as such had no questions for the briefing. She got up, straightened her uniform, and left the room along with the others once questions had been answered, leaving the briefing room to the Vulture and Wraith COs. Outside, she noticed the small group standing with Korvan, though beyond a nod to Korvan she did not try to get in the way of him getting acquainted with his new Squadron.

She would head to the Mess Hall for something to eat, before heading to her bunk to gear up in preparation for the mission.

Mirage listens to the briefing, and when caught up by Joker she smiles and shakes her head.

"Winner buys the first round of drinks."

She watches Miriana pass, she too has little attachment to Earth.  She was space born, but planet raised.  But Earth was just a place to her, not home.

"Thakun... lacks the socialization I had."

  Michelle adds teasingly; "she just doesnt want others to touch her engine"

She perks and eyebrow, turns to watch the retreating figure of Thakkun for a few minutes before looking back to Michelle.
"I don't blame her."

Thirteen sees Xavier leave and tilts his head slightly to the right. He then looks towards Sillia wondering what her reaction will be like.

  Sillia watches as her mate saunters off. Shacks her head. "Have the two of you eaten yet?"

  With that she leads the young pair to the meas hall before telling them she will meet them at the shuttle in twenty minutes.

Thirteen shakes his head and follows Sillia to get some breakfast.

Xavier meets Sillia in their tiny special atmospherics cabin. I've got all our stuff packed, and sent to the shuttle. Hope you don't mind.

He leaned in to her grabbing her waist pulling her closer to him and gave her a long passionate kiss.

Not giving her the time to react he was out the door heading to the shuttle.

Not seeing anybody else, he sat down on his luggage and waited in a meditative state.

Severian heard exited the briefing absorbing what was said - mainly the humans retaking their homeworld. He found the mission interesting but was curious how his fellow human associates were feeling about the retaking of their world.

As they exited the briefing room, he decided to speak to one of them to get a feeling of what to expect.

"Excuse me", he said as he came alongside Karma Murphy. "I am curious of what we will find once we descent upon your currently occupied world - how would they react to off-worlders? Will it be a cordial affair or will we be treated with scorn or fear?"

Cerise, after her command briefing, puts on a happy face and heads to her quarters, where she packs up her special light and crystal collection, which she takes to the Vulture and puts into the personal cargo area of her mech.

She sends a memo to Kaarle, Skyrah, and Miriana: "As we will be performing ground operations for a month and will have ample space there for some personal items, please instruct all members of squads and the shuttle crew to bring any important personal items with them. We may not have easy access to the Marcus Antonius, depending on ground-to-orbit supply needs, so better to bring it now than not have it. I believe such items will also be of value for smoothing interactions with the colonists."

Miriana looked up when she heard the sound of her comm unit receiving a memo. Taking it out of her pocket, she accessed its contents with a few deft taps, and read it.

Shrugging, she headed to her bunk to disconnect and pack her Perfect Vision and game compilation sets. She didn't know what kind of interactions Cerise would be referring to, but had learned during leaves that a number of civilians liked games, and if that was the desired result this would be the most efficient way of attaining it.

  Caught slightly off guard as Severian approached her. she give a sad but polite smile as she listens as if she might be hiding something. "I hope to find my father when we return to earth."

  She looks over towards Silas and the other pilots as they get up to exist the room. "I imagine when all the dust settle we will find ourselves returning to the fleet and the only family we really have left. But someday. I'd like to return to my ancestry home in Japan." 

  Eating Breakfast with the others made her smile. Finally a mission where she would not have to worry about these to filled her with some relief. When they finish. She looks at both Thirteen and Aravae; "Gather your things and get ready for a long month of boredom. And be ready for anything that could and will go wrong."



   Later when alone with Xavier Sillia smacks his face as soon as they are alone. "Don't act like that in front of the others again. I am a professional and nothing less."

   Michelle was in her personal quarters packing up her play bag and her sea-bag. She knew nothing she could say would change his mind. He has a good Career ahead of him. Why does chose me over a good life.

  She throws the bag across the room screaming: "Dam them. who the fuck do they think they are giving false hope. We don't get to live a good life of peace and love. We are soldiers meant for non stop missions till we are retired. stop lying to us."

  she finally breaks down and cries for several long moments. Then like a true soldier collects herself refreshes her makeup before grabbing her bags, heading to meet up with Karma. The two secured their gear aboard the vulture before heading to their veritechs in near silence.

Thirteen watches Sillia leave and thinks for a moment before turning to Avarae.

"It won't be boring, will it?"

Xavier shrugs away Sillia's anger. Professional, Xavier laughed as he said it brushing her hit off his face like he had a scratch. Why does it matter? Why does it bother you so much? It never hurts to have a little bit of fun.

Xavier gives her the passionate kiss and out the door he goes. Letting her think on such trivial matters as professionalism.

Looking back to the times hes been around Silas has made him think and realise that life is way to short to always act professional.

Yes, he thought there are times when it does matter. But to him today, today it didnt. Today, everybody should enjoy a little fun. Even if it was at their expense.

Loosen up a little will you! he shouted at her over his shoulder as he was heading to the hanger.

Aravae look back at Thirteen a little wide eyed. "I have to agree. but will it be a good thing or bad?"

  she then takes his hand as she starts to pull him as she begins to run to get themselves to the shuttle. "lets race."

   The shuttle crew go through the standard pre-flight operations awaiting lunch orders.
All crew members buckle in as all pilots ready themselves for emergency launch.

  Lt. Grey goes through her pre-flight on the Gambit as she ready herself to link up with the vulture before folding.


   The fold goes as planned and the next three weeks is filled with the daily boring retinue. Everyone finds something to occupy their little free time.



   De-fold commences at the far side of Toyko-3 system. All pilots are ready for rapid deployment. Cerise opens a link to the satellite over the planet. She discovers the satellite has been tampered with when it glitches several times when giving it a secondary code. She discovers something wrong.

  The crew is quickly told to battle stations and Xavier who is now the ranking Sargent and XO of Banshee Squadron reports to Skyrah that the squad is ready for action.

  A system wide scan using several hidden satellites that there is an small fleet behind Toyko-3's moon. At least forty ships appear to be waiting to ambush the Gambits colony fleet. The Vultures cloaking system appears to be hiding the shuttle and its crew. however there is no sign of any active or passive scans.

Cerise grimaces at the odds.

(To everyone under her command, via vulture's intercom) "Ok, folks, be ready. We're going to try to make a call for help; we can't take this on alone. But if they detect us, we'll need to be ready to defend ourselves."

To the pilot she relates a plan as well; "Be ready to jump; if we do draw attention and don't think we can hold them, we may need to get out of here fast."

   the pilot enter coordinates and Vulture Jumps. almost a month later a very anxious crew defolds. Given the order to standby. the tension can be felt in the air as everyone wants details which are not coming. Even Michelle is unable to access the main computers.

  Several hours later Hyena Shuttle defolds and within minutes the fleet folds as one. When you defold again another month will have passed. Though communication with the fleet is restored. You are only able to learn that the enemy that attack Freedom Station matched the fleet in Tokyo-3. All communication has been lost with freedom Station.


  When you defold all veritechs launch within seconds. Debris drifts everywhere. the remains of of the horror can been seen as both the defenders and the enemy (haydonites) litter the battle field careful navigation is used to avoid unnecessary collisions.

  With a system wide scan the fleet finds the remains of freedom station tumbling aimlessly. Though it takes several hours to meet up with the brutally damaged space station the four shuttle teams (Vulture is one of the four) sent to investigate find that one pod is still tethered to the main body. the 36 alphas and 4 betas do quick flybys and find nothing out of the ordinary.

 
  The Admials voice can be heard over the radio; Vulture your to proceed to lower ship yard (belly of the factory, Where Zentraedi flag ships would be constructed or dock for repairs) I want you to evaluate and prep the Black Star for immediate launch if she is intact. 


  he commands Hyena to go to command and do a search and rescue of the civilian city area. while ordering one of the other shuttles to investigate the pod while the second stands watch and relays any trouble.


  Banshee Squad is ready to go. Wraith squad forms a protective bubble around the vulture and you proceed through one of the large openings created by enemy fire. as you match speed and spin of the station.

   the city ship is clamped in place its protective cover severely damaged.


   she is five miles long.

Over the comms to wraith squadron. 

Kaarle was beyond nervous right now as they entered area, the damage he was seeing was intense, and he wasn't sure what to expect once they moved into position.

"Ok, let's find a safe place to land and bring her down easy. Sgt. Swift, I'm going to bring Lt. Thakun with us to do repairs, so you'll be in charge here while we're gone." Cerise instructs the pilot.

Then, over the ship-wide intercom she keeps the grounders abreast; "Lt. Valentine, be ready to disembark Banshee and form a defensive perimeter. Once we're down and secure we'll figure out where to go to make repairs.

Lt. Thakun, we'll be needing your help with those repairs, so attach yourself to Banshee."

Mirage is stunned as she surveys the damage.  He hopes silently that most of the people managed to get to the hardened shelters before the atmosphere was purged, but her gut tells her bad things.

It's a fact of life living in space, drills... vacuum, shelters and such.  She had the luxury of not only being raised on a planet, but of actually having a childhood.  She knew it made her weak compared to other Zentradi but she was certain in other ways it made her more resilient and a better thinker overall.

Cerise keeps a close eye on the sensors; landing on the station leaves them vulnerable to ambush, so she wants to be able to react if something happens.

Kchek lead his group as ordered, he continued his scans of the area, providing feedback to the the rest of his team through the advanced network communications his mecha provided they all had the same detailed information presented by the scanners.

As they come into a landing, Cerise makes her way to her mech so she can unload along with the rest of the ground mechs.
