Not exactly a Detective Special there, but under his coat and vest should be reasonably concealable if some care is taken.

Being double-action it's safer, but accidents can still happen.

Added:

quote:
"It didn't seem that Mr Maloney was too concerned about Miss Fuller. Surely, he would have contacted the police, if he suspected any foul play."

Sorry not to address this a little further. He sounded a little concerned (at least enough to mention it) but not gravely so. So you're skipping the gun shop for now, and heading to Shipley's without calling ahead. That's fine, just checking.

Yes Tony,

I would think that would be the normal course of action. The shop can wait.

Ha ha!

I thought I'd throw a visit to the Royal Thames Yacht Club in there. There was a thought about going by the club and checking to see if the yacht was berthed there. However, their permanent berthing is not on the Thames, it's on the Isle of Wight. Their club building (included accommodation) is very close to the Park Lane, overlooking by Hyde Park.

Grou,

I guess Phil is going around back? There is a lane separating the row houses along Holbein Mews from the Holbien House student residences behind it. Holbein Mews is a single lane width.

Doing some research, Dr. Weston informed you that Holbien Mews is within a block of Holbien House, where he stayed when studying medicine at Imperial College (Royal Hospital Chelsea).

Good move. Unless the cab driver is the killer! Just kidding.

I'm assuming it's Bathony first, then Cynthia with Singh bringing up the rear.

Hang on, good The Keeper. Phil didn't say he drew his Luger, but that he 'checked' it.

In reply to Imran Singh (msg #239):

"Phil gets out and does a quick check of his Luger."

I see what you mean, but if you see what I mean the object of that sentence was undefined. This isn't a nitpick: there is real confusion here. Also, "checking" could mean chambering a round or checking to see it's loaded, both of which require 2 hands (thus bringing it out). Taking off the safety could be done by feel, but if something's that ambiguous then I might well assume the most likely action (that is, he gets out the gun.

I'll rule the driver couldn't see any gun (regardless if it's in his pocket or not) but no telling what Mrs. Shipley saw!

At any rate, the front door is now locked.
