In reply to Cynthia Jane Holloway (msg # 12):

Perkins may make a Drive check to either hold the car steady to allow for the passengers to open up, make a sudden turn onto a side street, or outrun the pursuers (as he chooses).

Everyone in the escort group may make a Spot Hidden check.

Re: Skill Checks

Reloading a Mauser C96 is certainly a 2-handed job! A drive check is appropriate here to avoid losing control of the vehicle, as I assume he is driving with his knee. As well, reloading is a full turn action so Perkins cannot fire this turn.

(As it was never specified what kind of Mauser Perkins possessed he has a vanilla C96. The full-auto Schnellfeuer won't be invented for another 10 years, although he can easily pick up an artillery Mauser from the Gunmakers' Quarter!)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yaaN5IWM2WA

It's funny in that the rules say it takes 1 round to exchange a clip, because (of course) they really meant detachable magazine. But the Mauser really does reload using clips! A clip containing 10 rounds is inserted into a guide on the top of the weapon and the cartridges are pushed down into the magazine, then the clip is removed.

Re: Skill Checks

This is indeed the first RPG in my memory where the term 'clips' was applied correctly.

Rolled 35 on my Dex roll (Dex is 13). I don't know if that's a success or not? Good thing Cynthia put the girdle on, so she has her hands free for swimming!

Re: Skill Checks

In reply to Cynthia Jane Holloway (msg # 17):

DEX 13 resisting a 13 is 50% so a roll of 35 is a success.

Bathony will likely use STR 14 to resist, success at 55%.

Molly also resists, probably using DEX 14, so 55%. I rolled 57% for her so she's going overboard. But she rolled 04 on a Luck check(!) so she won't be in trouble.

Unsure if that keeps in in the boat or over the side holding on ?

Not a percentile-based game! Of which there are not too many.

Let's see what happened, eh?

As for Perkins, he is tied for DEX with the cultist. Perkins' first shot missed. To see if he gets his second shot off before the grenade is thrown, Perkins must roll a d100 and get below a 55!

Re: Skill Checks

In reply to Cynthia Jane Holloway (msg # 24):

Sorry, my mistake, I should have asked for Spot Hidden rolls to determine if Bathony/Molly can see the tentacles! Cynthia needed to make a roll, and she's right there, not over a hundred yards away.

Again, my apologies.

Yes, Bathony and Molly should roll Spot Hidden checks to determine if they can see tentacles reaching out of the water around the other boat. Thanks.

Re: Skill Checks

Rolling, but I really don't have the skill. Is there enough boat to try climbing?

Cynthia Jane Holloway rolled 69 using 1d100 ((69)). (Skill of 10).

Also, am I close enough to hear the debate on the boat going on?

In reply to Molly 'Mungo' Fuller (msg # 34):

Thinking about it, Cynthia should make a SAN check, now she's been grabbed by a slimy tentacle!

As for Molly and Bathony, failure is not going to cost more than a couple points of SAN at most.
