I am the new Bringer of Peace.  Getting my feet wet as a GM.  I ran a Conan game about five years ago that was a real hoot.  Vathii has been after me ever since to run again.

I should have the Undead Faction finished up over the next few days. Balance tells me that we are currently at 7 players that want to join. That is a great number and should be perfect as far as intrigue and action is concerned.

My greatest concern is about the rules. They shouldn't be so complicated as to intimidate people who want to play, but they should be complicated enough to provide for a variety of options, as well as follow a logical process.

The rules should be hammered out before the players make their factions, so that the players don't have to go back and redo things. That causes frustration and resentment.

I'm excited to meet the new players. It's good that there will be more than one GM as larger numbers will make things a bit crazy. If you think you guys can handle that, that's great.

However I would like to say it might be cool to meet the new players a bit earlier to maybe write some back story between nations. Maybe the Grendel have a few rivals, and maybe even a few friends.

Well, I would recommend making your 3 main npc's before we start. After all, if you die due to a series of unfortunate events your kingdom will be in the hands of Chaos if you do not have someone ready to take over the reins.

I have been asked by the Bringer of Balance to explain an unfortunate event. As everyone may have noticed, Balance has not been around for a while. This has been due to a burglary in his home and the loss of his computers. He is expecting to replace his computers in the very near future (hopefully this coming weekend), so that we can get back to getting this shindig off the ground. Those players that have not finished their Nations, please continue to work on them and get them completed. That is all.

Hello there! I'm one of the new guys, looking to play a Vassal.

Mushin is a Goblin raised in an Asian style monastery. He is a Sohei/Sorcerer training to be a Mounted Eldritch Knight. Character isn't done yet ... but we're working on it! :D

I should mention, I suppose, that Mushin is Lawful Good (very much a "goodie-goodie"). He can often be seen wearing a basket hat (for those familiar with the item), which means that his actual race can be difficult (if not impossible) to detect. For those not familiar with the item, a basket hat is ... well, a basket with a couple holes in it for eyes.

I see that the Prime Minister is still reading -- is he still with us?

I got my primary character sheet done, the stats on the three vassal done. Still working on their character sheets. So anyone else close to ready?

Well, I'm almost ready. Just need to finalize my spell-like abilities and purchase some equipment. Oh, and get a Lord. The last one's a doozy ...

I am reporting that our fearless leader, Balance, is once again being prevented from being here.

Everyone who is creating a character or nation please continue to do so. That way we'll be ready when Balance is.

However, I do not yet have a specific timeframe for his return.

This game is having difficulty proving that it is not dead.

Yeah. It's difficult to do this sort of thing with only one Regent. As much as I like Mushin, he's not going to work with the queen-admiral and having GM's disappear isn't helping.

For now it's... undead I guess?

Could you use a Monastic Eldritch Knight (in training) on your Team? Mushin is Asian flavored, set up to be a Vassal. Work better with the Asian Flavored Lord, I think, but he appears to be "gone-gone". He's a mounted archer, really.

Could be a Lord Spiritual, but he never would have volunteered for the task.

Hmmm ... A back story seedling is coming to mind ...

I check on this thread a minimum of every few days, and I haven't heard from Balance since I last posted about him being absent. As much as I hate to say it, you may be right that this game is dead. Perhaps someone would care to make a new one or some such?
