So yeah, I've been away from all of this for a bit.  Life got really busy during the last few months, sort of a mix of busy good and busy bad, and I've had to curtail most of my activity on RPOL.

Anyways, hope that everyone had a great holiday, whichever one you celebrate.  I'll wish everyone a pre-emptive Happy New Year as well since I doubt that I'll be back on before then.

So after a few weeks of driving all over the place to visit family and having my computer time cut down to almost nothing, now I have to get caught up.

Anyone gone to see the remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo?  I saw that over my little vacation.  Not sure if it was really worth all the hype but it was enjoyable.  I have to wonder why they really needed to remake it since the original movie came out only 3 years ago.

Hollywood needed to make money... I think...

I haven't seen either the film or the original... but I've got it on my ever increasing list of films to watch...

we've been told it's cause few americans have the patience to read subtitles, so they don't watch subtitled movies...

so they had to re-make it to make more money from the lazy watchers..

also, no I haven't watched the re-make yet, but it's said to be more book-faithful, which I doubt, cause if they were.. the rating would have to be like 18... and above..

I feel like reading the book more than watching the film... though I'm reading something else right now...

so I just watched the americanized version of 'låt den rätta komma in' in english: 'let the right one in' as written by John Ajvide Lindqvist

he's a swede, the book he wrote was placed in sweden, the americanized movie, re-placed it to new mexico...

gah, this was a bad choice, I went nuts with all the little details they had to switch cause the place they choose to film it in, had no trains.. gah...

I've heard it was bad... and was told not to watch it... because the original is better...

the original is a hundred times better...

one could actually see it happen for real, the americanized one... too much action and unneccessary drama...

I found unnecessary drama to be a big part of life... action on the other hand is not... either that or my supowerpowers package is late...

Heh, I would like to get one those superpower packages but I think it would get lost in the mail.

so many things do... usually it's the DVDs I rent...

They still have a lot rental places where you live? Most of the places round here got shut down. Disappointing.

I think the Blockbuster on one street got closed... but the rental place that sends DVDs by mail is still operational... recently they let subscribers stream their films on Xbox Live too...

it's a combo pack... you get both since not all titles are available for streaming... and well, if I can stream, I'm just going to forget about watching a film... when I have a DVD lying there on my Xbox, I'm going to find the time to watch it...

Yeah I can get where your coming from Vampir. I don't have a stream on netflix or anything but I know people who do. Most of them still like to buy DVDs.

if one pays for it, one watches it, but I stream, I don't pay.... silly gooses pay for streamed movies...

Netflix is this American thing... I don't know how it works exactly but Wikipedia should be more aware of it...

and well... streaming for free is considered in the same vein as downloading for free... it is evil and the entertainment industry wants to make a prison for you...

oh well...

if SOPA is voted into existance, life will sure be dull...
